🇺🇸 fan here. Dimash is the master of all things vocal. You should react to "Stranger (new wave 2021)". It is performed live in Russia but sung in English. It showcases all his vocal abilities from the highs and the lows and in between... plus the ending is spectacular and jawdropping. I highly highly recommend.

Welcome to the awesomeness that is Dimash! He is considered the best singer in the world right now. He is known as the 6 octave man, but has since been onsidered to have a 7.2 octave range. He is amazing! You will find a lot of songs by him, both live performances & mv & will see that he sings in a multitude if styles from Opera to pop, rock, folk & neo-classic and he even raps!!! He does them all perfectly! He is also a multi-instrumentalist and the most humble, caring and loving young man. He is from Kazakhstan and the language of this song is French, though he sings in 14 different languages!

He has more than a hundred videos in TH-cam. Keep watching. Dimash technique is as close to text book perfection with his own twist and each is an emotional roller coaster. Most of his videos have English subtitles, or if you would rather just to enjoy the voice you can just listen him singing. You can learn a lot from his technique. He experimented a lot with multi genres - multi styles - multi registers within a same song (even within the same note!)
That is exactly what I am doing, . I had a background in Opera, but I never could used it, because People don’t appreciate Classic Music, But he knew how to incorporate Classical with contemporary music and sounds magestical, at the same time he has the Voice of an Angel. But I am studying his technique every day, since I found him in TH-cam.

Mr. Lopez is making the rounds. Nearly every reactor I see had this record from him. Good on him for promoting Dimash. He does not sing in whistle tone in this song given that his voice sounds like a human voice rather than a whistle. At the end it looks like he’s taking the sheet music and laying it on the stage. Your analysis and reaction is impeccable. Very nice. Good on you.

@@YhvMagsisi the margins where whistle tone starts is not precise. might be higher for some, might be lower for others. Whistle tone technically only describes a method of how the sound is produced. It's true that most men need to use whistle tone to get above D6, but a some don't.

I enjoyed your reaction! Dimash was singing in French here, he sings in 13 languages and he has a lot of songs in English. He is from Kazakhstan (formerly the Soviet Union). He sings in all genres. This performance was in 2018, he was 23/24 here, he’s now 29. You should hear what he sounds like today! Easily THE greatest vocalist of ALL time with his over 7 octave range. You compared his hand drop at the end to that of an ice skater. His best friend was a Bronze Medalist at the Olympics. Sadly, he was murdered when he came upon two men stealing his car. It may be that Dimash picked up that gesture from his friend, or perhaps it is a secret tribute to him. I have read that he was deeply touched by the young French singer who won a national competition singing SOS, even though he was dying from cystic fibrosis and only had 20% of his lung power left. SOS has become something like Dimash's signature tune with multiple versions from the beginning of his international fame in 2017 to the latest and most elaborate incarnation from his digital show in 2021, replacing cancelled concerts due to the pandemic.
There are two more songs that are excellent for Dimash beginners to get introduced into his talent: • Sinful Passion, originally performed by the Kazakh band A'Studio, some members accompany him in a performance from 2018, and Dimash is using many facets of his versatile voice in a masterful way to interpret the song. The phrase "dai mne" (" give me") is repeated frequently, and Dimash sings it in all the different ways, pleading, begging, demanding, commanding, it is a masterclass in interpretation.
• Stranger, written by Russian-Ukrainian composer, pianist, and music mogul Igor Krutoy to showcase the range and flexibility in timbre of Dimash's voice. There is not much to interpret in the lyrics, it is a pure show piece, but utterly impressive.
You were speculating that Dimash used his whistle register to reach the highest notes here. I am with many vocal experts who analyzed that he is still using his amazing reinforced falsetto. Dimash's whiste register sounds quite different and starts even higher. There are good examples of Dimash's whistle register in his performances of "Unforgettable Day" at the Gakku music festival, and in the duet of "Drunken Concubine and Diva Dance" with Beijing opera singer Li Yugang.
