I have a 2016 base that has all the added packages you've mentioned except captains seats in the rear and I love the bench seat .... Currently at 90k miles completely issue free so far !😍
All my life I have been a TOYOTA/LEXUS fan boy. Currently own a 4RUNNER TRD. But with TOYOTA Prices being so high I am relegated into other Brands and thats how I zerod in the QX80 (2015-2017). This QX80 is a Great alternative to the now Discontinued LANDCRUISER which sells roughly 2.5 Times as much as a QX80 from the same time Period. Ed., Thanks for pointing out about the HBMC systems which would be Equivalent to TOYOTA/LEXUS K.D.S.S (kinetic dynamic suspension system) which enables this gigantic beast to stay planted on straight, curvy roads but disengages on Off Road allowing for greater suspension travel. My issue tho is, this video will drive up QX80 Prices. Keep doing what you are doing - i love the presentation and you are easy to listen to - you should give seminars to Car Sales Men. They are clueless and lack product knowledge and poor linguistic skills. You got my subscription. Thanks again ❤ Ed.
I have a 2016 QX80 Limited. This is a great explanation. I love the limited touches. Like the leather wrapped speaker grills which they don’t even do anymore. I love that look. Also the carpets in the limited have metal badging.
How to spot a limited model 1. darker rims 2.smoked chrome a.pillars instead of black 3.smoked tail lights with more white inside 4.truffle interior only from 2015-2017 limited models
Good catch! You are 100% correct. I"m seeing a LOT of dealerships posting "limited" on their websites and the one they are selling is NOT a limited! Very annoying!
@@TheStoneWhispererYes very annoying indeed. Had anyone seen a 2015-2017 Limited with the 2nd row bench? I have yet to see one. I searched for a couple of months without success. That would have been the preferred seating configuration for us as we a child in a car seat. However I absolutely love the Limited trim because of the interior & everything else.
Biggest difference to me was the comfort. I found a dealer that had both used. After just sitting in the infiniti i didnt even want to test drive the armada
Great video. I just purchased a QX80 and with your video i found out my base had 4 options packages. Great to see I got the top of the base model offered. The limited is really nice with the quilted leather and color. I just thought it would be more difficult to find interior parts if one of my kids decided to break something.
Best info I've seen!!! Answered all my questions! I have the QX56 and am in the market for a QX80 and have been stomped on finding all the features I wanted in one vehicle. This helped ALOT
You're most welcome sir. I am glad that this info does indeed serve a purpose to people looking at these vehicles. It should help people decide if they want to pay that little extra that the Limited package usually commands.
I own a 2011 QX56 with all major options available. Only has 90k miles on it and has been flawless until I had to replace the Catalytic converter recently. I change oil often even using full synthetic so never had an issue with the timing chain lube system that was replaced with a newer design under a recall. Just drove it 1500 miles on the first road trip since covid and it eats up the miles in comfort
This video turned out to be very informative! As much as I want to hold out for an opportunity to get into an FX50, my current family size and needs is drawing me more to these! This will for sure be referenced if/when it's time to shop for one! P.S. hope you found a home for the black FX50!
Let me start with the story of the FX. I have a buyer for it, but I'm still holding onto it for now while travel arrangements are finalized. So after being in the QX80 almost exclusively for a week, I took a drive in the FX50 today. Holy smokes! That FX is in a class of its own when it comes to handling and driving excitement. It is fun throughout, but like you said, sometimes the needs of the majority (and frequency of the need) will dictate which one you get. If I had to keep only one, then the QX80 wins.
So the funniest thing happened...was on one of my late night searches and came across a gorgeous black FX45, 1 owner very well maintained with just over 100k. Took my son to go see it today and planning to take the wife to get her impressions tomorrow. We shall see how this story plays out. 😂😂
@@CarsNkids22 please keep us updated! I think the FX would be a decent buy. It's not too expensive that it ties up all your money...but at the same time, it gives you a feel of the sport/lux crossover to see if it works well for your family.
I want to thank you for the great and detailed video. Because of this video, I was able to understand the packages better and bought a 2013 QX56 yesterday that had the “extra” button on the steering wheel. Because of that and the knob for the front heated and cooled seats I knew I was getting the extra driver assistance and safety features. The only issue the vehicle has is it won’t release the second row seats with the buttons on the dash, but I can’t imagine that’s a big issue to fix. I watched several more of your videos and found them extremely helpful and time saving. Look forward to more!
We have a 2014 QX80 with deluxe touring and a 2017 QX70 limited. Both are very great and reliable cars. The two extra speakers I believe are the small tweeters next to the A pillar. I really wished they offered a limited back in 2014 but I believe it only come out once they face lifted it in 2015
I am glad to hear that that have been reliable for you. I appreciate your style, the platform is so nice. I was cross shopping with newer pickup trucks, and the QX was more comfortable and practical for our needs by far!
@@EdBwoy Both of them are AWD. I really like Infiniti's intelligent AWD systems, they work really well. The QX80 adds 4 high and 4 low capability for off-road conditions which is also nice.
@@GabrielWangisawesome nice! I am only considering the RWD because of available color combinations and they seem to be closer to me. In all honesty, I'll probably hold out for the right AWD to come along. I have previous experience with the Infiniti QX4. I had two of those as well 🍻🍻 , and while the RWD one never got stuck in any weather on a paved road, the AWD one was a true go-anywhere beast.
Me too. I have a 2014 QX80 deluxe touring with all the bells and wistles (with the Bose upgraded sys) and 22" wheels. I just love the brown leather interior on the limited that wasn't available in 2014. One observation though, why did they change out that beautiful two tone wood grain steering wheel for a chocolate pukey brown leather steering wheel? OMG! That is just disgusting! The color is just all wrong. They should have just kept the two tone black/wood grain steering wheel that is like in the '14, much more attractive! Other than that, I love this color scheme!
@edbwoy Excellent video! The other thing is unique is the location of the tweeters on the front doors with the Bose 15 speaker stereo system compared to the 13 speaker system. Open pour wood trim is specific to the Limited. That Stratford glossy wood trim also looks really nice on a fully loaded non limited QX80.
Im looking into purchasing one of these this year....done with leasing..pricing is out of control..so..reliability is number 1, but of.course comfort and affordability...trying to see what the difference is between the QX56 and the QX80...no videoes reallh on this. Thanks
The difference between the qx56 and qx80 is really just the name, and the model years of course. Infiniti changed from the number 56 to 80 because they added in a lot of new models like the qx50. So yeah it depends on what year you want

Mine is approaching 150K miles with not a even so much as a rattle inside or slight mechanical issue. I think these are going to easily hit 250K with no real big issues. I have heard rumors though that the 2013-2015 had potential Catalytic Converter issues and Transmission slippage in lower gear at high mileage. Luckily, I have not see that with mine.
