None of these videos are anti-climactic, each one has like an entire textbook of genius in it and I get extra excited since I just got a new computer yesterday and I can play terra tech once more
Finally made it to episode 10! I think the 3 month delay on completing editing on this broke a record for me (of videos that I've actually managed to publish).😳 So apologies and I hope you guys enjoy it.🙂 Again, please let me know your opinions on volume levels and such, as I'm still fiddling with those and the equaliser settings on the voice track, etc. And I welcome all TerraTech related questions down below, too!🙂 Edit: I think these design might be *just about* viable for console, but it's hard to tell. You'd have to have basically no other allied techs loaded in at all I think...?
your mic sounds good to me! i honestly forgot how soothing your voice is and take your time on the vids, i don’t mind if we have to wait a while for them, they are always a good watch
You are the second youtuber I've set notifications on. I only did that twice Lathrix was the first. I absolutely love seeing one of your thumbnails on my phone, specially when I'm not expecting them. The sound is great and the content is amazing. thx, keep it up
Absolutely, they're wonderfull! Exactly what the community was crying out for. You could absolutely add one or two to this design to make in anchor more reliably.🙂 Their downside is that they don't enable the physics optimisations for resources on conveyors, which means that certain clever crafting setups can loose resources (that would otherwise have passed straight through blocks) and so fail. Also, one could build this tech before getting the Better Future licence needed for the sky anchors.
Heh. I only build the crafting part, on camera, and I was using reference images and *still* got it wrong multiple times! The rest of the build was a time reversed tear-down, so that doesn't count. 😜
Hey ZG, great to see a new video, your tips 'n' tricks have been invaluable ^_^ I know you said you'll be building more crafters in future but I wondered, would you consider designing a flyer / rover at some point? I've never found a sweet spot for a tech which can both fly as well as being a viable wheeled land vehicle. I figured if anyone can make it work, it'd be you. Oh and the voice-over is spot-on, no changes needed far as I can see. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, it's great to know what's proving interesting or useful. Regarding "rover/fliers" - that kinda sound like the tech on the left of my channel banner, that I show towards the end of my "22 Terriffic Times..." video. (Which stopped being able to fly after booster changes.) I also have a big BF hover-flier (not really what you were saying): steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1752162812 ... A very effective and fun little flyable missile artillery tech: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1559741096 ... And of course, there's the hover-bug tron bike (which can drive on ground and fly, kinda by cheating): steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1717393231 But did you have other specifics in mind? A more general purpose, mid-sized tech? Wings or heli/VTOL...? (I do actually have an unreleased flying GSV, come to think of it.)
@@ZeroGravitas The Valkyrie actually looks like exactly what I had in mind, I'll have to do some reverse engineering and see how it works. The idea was simply something that could quickly fly to missions, land and take care of business, or with a little extra work perhaps scout for resources and harvest (where's a salt flat when you need one?). The problem for me is keeping it agile on the ground. If I can throw any idea out there, definitely a harvesting (maybe bricking?) VTOL. Also, I've run into the same problem anchoring on salt flats, to the point I wonder if anchoring mechanics might have been tweaked a little behind the scenes. Anyway, thanks again, it's really nice to see someone else who enjoys the manufacturing side & working with that functionality :)
@@ZeroGravitas Also, great build. venture conveyors and silos can hold materials at a higher speed, just use venture for mobile bases. GSO conveyors are for anchored bases.(that's how i would do it)
This true. 🙂 But there's noe 1x1 or 3x3 Venture silos, unfortunately (as I needed for this build). And the venture conveyors kinda look more cluttered. Plus the scrappers can drop resources from their outputs directly, anyway. So there's some problems you can't entirely avoid, currently.
Ive been watching your series and i have to say that i have learned so much from it! I might make a new game file where i also try mobile bases. (So far ive built my bases on top of the huge sand pillars in the desert biome that can only be accessed via planes and AIs cant reach them because they cant really fly)
sweet, a new vid! i didn’t even know the flail guards harvested resources, makes sence now that i think about it tho. great job! question-how do you think of such creative designs? my techs always seem boxy and boring
Well, I'm useless at imagining an entire finished form, myself. I usually start from some little design detail, moving a few blocks around to get a par that looks nice. I started from the missile pylons, with the main GSV build, then kinda turned them into stalks, and it was just seeming insect-like, so I gave it 'legs', too. I've had a lot of aborted designs that didn't go anywhere...
