@@thekingofgamers3350 I Made A Tech Called "Big Boi" And It's Composed Of Mostly GSO (3-pound cannons, Blocks, Cab, And Shields) And Some GeoCorp (Big Boy Wheels, Batteries) And It Has A Triangular Shape On The Front & Rear, And Made The Top 2 Blocks Longer So It Can Accomodate MOAR Cannons So I Can Kill Techs Much Easier. And It's 10 Blocks Wide So It Can Turn Easier.
I wish the AI isn't JUST made to circle around you trying to get to your back, it should be that techs that don't have a chance at fighting you try to escape and you'll have to be faster to get them, most geocorp enemies that primarily use melee to full on charge at you, just the enemies that are evenly matched should circle you and try to hit your weak spot if they're fast enough to try and maybe a combination of charging and circling if you have shields up so they try to get inside your shield bubble.
My amaizing strategy is have an enourmus tech with a million guns on every side so it does not matter what im fighting against and if an invader comes just ram into it and it won't shoot you for some reason so thats a bug
Tips: 1. Enemy Techs can only be so big, so be bigger! 2. Why have one battery, when you can have... like.... 20 or 30? Plus GEO batteries. 3. Attach Solar Generators! Then you can anchor and power up! 4. Mobile generators are actually good! 5. Lasers are good, but remember to have a few 3-pound cannons.
The last time I played this game a lot of giant enemies would keep spawning, so I would never be able to do anything without losing my entire vehicle, so I started to make what I think I called "The Dagger" or something like that. It was just like, 2 yellow cube pieces, that laser drill bit on the back of it, 4 wheels, and the yellow cab. Then I would drive backwards into an enemy with the drill turned on. I was too small for them to hit once I got close, and after a bit I'd just be either inside them or under them.
The game is a bit dead, but still fun. Here's a tip I don't see mentioned if anyone is looking at this in 2023+. Different guns have different firing arcs. Lasers fire straight with no drop so they just try to draw a straight line to an enemy. Ballistic weapons have to arc their shots at range so by leaving a one block gap between them and laser guns, they'll fire over the laser at medium-long range targets. Mortars and the like arc their shots HARD so you can often just plop them directly behind other guns without a gap. Doing this maximizes damage without making your tech any taller than it would otherwise be so you're lighter and faster while still packing a dangerous amount of punch.
I've got 2 good tips, first being strictly for the new megacannons, if you aim them upwards, they can become excellent mortar shots that hang in the air for a few seconds, and the second being to use as many industrial blocks as possible, they are strong and large, providing enough health for a good battle and enough serface area for many weapons/tires/bubbles.
The cannon artillery barrage is how I've been playing the game, but it does feel kinda cheap, since the enemies freeze and stop simulating at such a short distance
If you want an all purpose tech that can still fight, it will probably be big. This is not bad, however, just remember to add weaponry to the sides and back because smaller, more nimble techs will try to go around to the back. I know this from experience, I've had some humiliating moments when little venture techs run to the back before I can get any good hits in and they just sit there drilling through my tech to the cab while I'm trying to turn around and kill 'em.
Another good stratagy is to have guns facing in all directions and try to keep your tech very tall. Guns facing in all directions makes it harder for small techs to avoid your fire and if you have a very short and flat tech, enemy fire will find it easy to hit alot of your tech where as having a tall structure will shelter more lightly armoured portions of your tech in a very simmple way. this will also allow you to put guns hire up essentialy tunring you into a carpet bombing tower.
Tip: Consider supplementing shields with armor, Armor has an innate resistance to impact, cutting, ballistic, fire and blast damage, and is immune to electrical damage. This can help dampen incoming damage if shields run out or to prevent explosives on your tech from blowing up. Note that armor is weak to lasers and plasma weapons
tip: efficiency is the most important thing on the early game. if you can cover that block moving your shield, you should. even though if it means to put your cab in other places.
idk why i did these: -not covering my cab -get the mission that im not even strong enough to complete -uhhh -idk -my tech got destroyed the first time on my latest save.
My Strategy Is To Put All Weapons On All Sides. Doing That Gives You An Advantage, It Means If An Enemy Goes To The Rear, Sides, Or Front, The Weapons Shoot At Any Direction.
have some weapons on the back as an anti pursuit measure I know I ether lost a tech or had it become very damaged and was expensive to repair because I couldn't shoot at the techs following me when I started to run to recharge, as a second note for a bit later in the game splash damage from missiles can get through shields so if you really want to kill something or just drain its battery if it has a lot of healing bubbles its throw missiles or rockets at it and let the splash damage get through the shield. and as an older player from back before the the corporation terminals had unlimited stock of that corporations blocks, don't be afraid to fight from a safe distance and blindsid your opponent
umm one question i started a new game, but i died t one point and lost my initial battery, and life is getting hard. Is there a quick way to regain that battery? im doing okay without it, but it will be much challenging when i face the trade troll
CashAkDude idk if you still need help but you could either start a new save or find another tech with a battery, I had the same happen to me but I got lucky and the first tech I found had a battery which I salvaged
I use almost only missile at the point that i creat a "missile monster" and its deadly but the only problem is that if the enemie has missile and one touch my missile i explode unfortunatly
When? NEVER. Makes sense right?. Nothing is everywhere. Its so everywhere. You dont even need -when-. You dont even need -now-. *Thats how every it gets*
Huge tip and very good get a venture small vehicle along with one of those heat seeking missile launchers I got very lucky and got one quite early on but it’s grade 5 gso lol
That would either make AI garbage in the case that they inherit this feature, or overpowered if they keep their auto aiming. It would also be awkward for something like the Megaton cannon which aims slowly ON PURPOSE.
+matt harvey Thank you Matt, the problem with harvesters at the moment, is that the AI needs working on. So we may tell you what to do, but it might not work!
How to win TerraTech Step 1: Aquire one or more Megaton Cannon(s) Step 2: Make a tech with higher front wheels than back. The higher the front, the longer the range. The tech should have nothing extra except maybe shields and healing bubbles and be as light as possible unless you want an all-purpose tech. Step 3: Put all megaton cannon(s) on said tech. No other weapons unless you want an all purpose tech. Step 4: Snipe with explosive rounds that pierces shields and 1 hit KO the vast majority of small GSO and venture techs. Tip 1: The megaton cannons may be 2 blocks tall, but megaton cannons fire from the top block, so offsetting the cannons by only one block up will stop them from interfering with each other. Tip 2: Have multiple techs at different elevations ready to deal with enemies at different angles.
another is to have over 90+ 3 pound cannons 1st time in campaign i went against a WAY too large tech and with the power of miracles i destroyed it and completely overhauled my tech it was a Geocorp i was only a single GSO cab with 20mins in
jack karkkinen F and G are the standard key bindings to rotate all blocks. Take off the gun and when you put it back on use f or g before you release left click
Tip: the best defense is the greatest offence. More shields and batteries means that you can fire for longer without taking damage!
More 3-Pound Cannons.
My strategy is Hover and Heatseeking missiles for the win.
How About Speedy Techs?
@@Aptol hover techs can be really fast if you put on a little stud boosters from Venture

If that doesn't work
Use more guns
Keep cab separate from batteries n use multi cabs per tech for survivalibly
