I have an 87 grand Wagoneer myself as well as several of the older jeeps you're 100% right about people stopping you. I've actually got to the point where if I'm in a rush or I'm just running out for a quick quick errand I will not take the grand Wagoneer because it always invokes some conversation with somebody about know Their father had one or the grandfather had one or Uncle had one
Just got one of these from a friend who let it sit in a backyard for 17 years. He one of these guys who works on something for short period of time 10-13 hours a day then burns out and loses interest and moves on to something else. He is also a hoarder and piled junk all around it took us several hours of cleaning then a tow truck and my JK jeep to pull it out though a tiny 7 foot gate without damaging it further. There were several paper wasp nests that were old not in use anymore plus black widows. Tires were flat one had a big hole in it from dry rot. He was embarrassed how bad it looked I could tell by the look on his face. It took several days of discussion to get him to sign the title over he is being evicted from the property no longer has the health or money to keep all his stuff. It was very hard for him to sign it over I told him my plans were to restore it to safe driving conditions no paint or body work just get it driving. If I'm able to make some decent money on selling it ill give him some money back on it since it was his for so many years.
Nice find, Believe it or not, the Grand Wagoneer is my dream car, especially cobalt blue and chromed out. Hard to find a base model these days. Thanks for the walk through.
I have an 82 cj7 with wagoneer drive train. This is on my wish list. I installed the hei distributor last year, nice improvement. Nice Wagoneer you have there. I had a 68' Wagoneer back in the day.
I installed fuel injection in my 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. My was having issues starting, with the fuel injection it started right up. I had it restored 2 yrs ago. Mine is white with tan interior. I have a sunroof, and still have the original mats.
Just now seeing this video and I live in Van Buren, AR LOLl funny to hear a video so close to home. Great job on the rocker panel and I'll be looking into the Sniper as well
I always have people stopping me that they had one or thsir parents had one.. and yes my 90 was 34k new.. for comparison my dads s10 from like 89 or 90 was 5000$ new.
Sir, I'm super enthused to find your video. I've loved the Wagoneer for years but never found one I could afford. Lately, I've started looking again. So it's of particular interest to chk out real life issues that are likely or possible.
@@screamnmonkee gained 5mpg. From what ? Whats your total mpg. I find it hard to believe a good running carb to a fuel injection system would gain 5mpg unless it was poorly running. I get 13.5 on my 90 and it starts IMMEDIATLY. And mine weighs 5300 lb with my mods lift tires etc.
You can buy the wood grain kits at : www.teamgrandwagoneer.com There are probly also other places to get it also but this is where I get all my stuff. I have three of these Good luck brother!
Exactly.. i buying a 76 Jeep J10 long bed.. runs and drives.. but i dont trust it to go 136 miles... So im gonna get a uhaul trailer for my 90 Grand Wagoneer to bring it back home
@@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 I sold the one I had for $1200 not really worth that much unless it's fully restored or never been touched and is in top condition. The one I had the engine was left for 16 years in a backyard and coolant ate though the timing cover into the engine. The body was in rough shape. I seen nice ones on eBay that have been driving since 1980's for $24-26k might need a paint job and good cleaning.
@@Mike-01234 which the j10 or grand wagoneer. Because both are worth alot more than 1200$ unless theyre very rusty . My 90 i wouldnt let go for under 8-10k. The j10 im bjying is 1200$ but no title and rusty.. but it runs.. the rust i can fix and i can get a title. Once i fix it uo itll be worrh a lot more. Will just take time
Nothing like getting the bugs worked out quickly. It was sold as running and driving. I took it for a test drive on highway. Probably best to rent trailer, but wanted to do a trail by fire. Thanks for the comments.

Installed an electric fuel pump on mine , never had a problem after that. 👍 Great driver. 👍
I recently found your channel. I had a Wagoneer. Sold it in 2017. Regretted it ever since
