Great video, this helped out so much! I recently found a donor suburban for my 1984 GW. Mine is the same color as your GW except red oxblood interior. You guys gave me hope lol glad to see you guys finally reaping the rewards for all the hours put into it.
This makes everyone miss the sun. The sped up compilation is a great recap of the build and can see it all come together. Now just to figure out how to actually work at that speed.
How sick is that! Ive always thought it would be so cool to work on 2 door stuff either getting hands on an IH scout or restore an old bronco but it would be equally as sick to have a restored/engine swap GW.
Awesome build. Thank you for sharing. My 89 Grand Wagoneer is getting a pretty mean bearing knock on it's old AMC 360. Would you guys be interested in another LS Wagoneer swap?
Let's talk, send an email to narxolepticcustoms@gmail.com - are we pulling the old setup? Will you want to drive it in and drive it home? Do you want to adapt to the Jeep Transfer case or use a GM t-case? Will you supply the donor and parts or will we? Those should get the conversation started. Thanks and I look forward to your email!
Wish you had more details in your video. What should a person budget to have this done? A person that wouldn’t make a pimple on a mechanics rear end that is.
We have a full playlist of this build. Alot of "budget" depends on what you start with and what you can source. But, just the transfer case adapter was $810 3 years ago. you can use the factory GM one if it comes with your donor though...
This would be great in my 79 unit, really like this idea YET don't have the wherewithal place and tools for this. Do a followup on what improvements you realized in this. Ease of the EFI rewire, fuel tank with the pumps in it, re-plumbing, adapting the trans, the TC, motor mounts, drivelines, all these little details to make it come alive and function as desired. Honestly, I love this idea yet my scenario is maybe refresh what I have that allows the P-n-P back, add Edelbrock heads, an EFI, dual Exh and call it good. This scenario you did is beyond my hands.
The owner wanted the factory Grand Wagoneer lever to operate the 4wd system that way the vehicle would be factory appearing inside. You could certainly use the Tahoe's t-case with no issues.
Sweet rig!! I’m doing a 6.0 swap into my 86 wagoneer. I was hoping you could send me the info on those AC adapters from cold hose? I’d really like to have AC in mine this summer. Thanks and sweet ride!
Yes sir. The project has taken awhile since we just work on it during the weekend here and there. Just buttoning everything up. I think we may change it to 3.73 gears and I have a posi/electronic locker we’re gonna stick in the rear as well. The LS swap is nice though. Way more power.
I am trying to get started on a 1988 Grand Wagoneer motor swap and just need some guidance. Watching your videos and just curious if i can contact you somehow for some questions.
He said his average so far is probably 15-17 mpg with a good mix of Highway/city for the truck. Thanks, we love these rigs!! I want to build one for my wife to daily
@@markworkman6576 One other benefit is the Overdrive gear of the 4L60 trans. In the playlist, you'll see that we actually put two of these together for the customer. The first one was still 360/TH400 and that at 55 mph you could tell that you needed another gear. So the owner is loving the ability to drive it on the highway at a much lower RPM. Congrats on your purchase and reach out with any questions.
This jeep lasted 30+ years with AMC in it .. why put crap in it that will make it worthless in 10. If you didn't like the engine why not upgrade or change the setup? That jeep wouldve made it through the apocalypse. Now its just another piece of junk someone modified.

Such a classic look on those jeeps. Nice highlight reel.

Great video and killer work on that swap! Would love to see compilations like this for other projects. Working on a comp myself for my shop truck

BigBlocksGarage thanks man, I know it hurts your heart to see a LS where a Gen3 Hemi should be but that swap may be coming soon......
@@NarxolepticCustoms Man count me in if it does!
awesome ! how did you manage to get the speedo workin ? the 4L60 normaly has a electronic speedo
Speedo connection is in the transfer case for these, so it was an easy win.
Where can I buy the transfer case adapter?

Hey Mike I had one question for you. Why did you not just keep the Tahoe's NP8 transfer case and swap it out for the jeeps ?
The owner wanted the factory Grand Wagoneer lever to operate the 4wd system that way the vehicle would be factory appearing inside. You could certainly use the Tahoe's t-case with no issues.
