What a funny video! Thanks! I will probably never eat a parmi again though……are they really using rice and pasta a now….in Australia. I am an Aussie, and I love a good parmigiana……but I have never seen the kind you show and describe, and I wonder if this was accidentally edited into the wrong video? I actually don’t recognise most of these foods, and think there could be an issue with the editing? Oh wait, my 70 year old mother once told me about a prawn cocktail, are you getting your information about Australian food from my elderly Danish mother?
There are so many errors in this video that I had to change my rating to a thumbs down. Sorry, but the pronunciations, history and images don’t correct,y represent the foods mentioned. You spoke about our yummy vanilla slice but showed other items as well such as the popular Matchstick Slice, although it rarely comes with fruit in the middle. And the ANZAC BISCUITS (never cookies) have a well known history that’s not mythical but actual! I love Vegemite but the way it’s used in this video almost made me puke! Stop using it like Nutella!!! Also, it was dumped by Kraft years ago and is now made in Bega under their own brand. Kraft is American, Vegemite is 100% Aussie!
You’re right, it’s filled with errors and Vegemite was not an American invention, that’s just an outright lie! The Vegemite Story began in Britain and never touched American lips!
Australia lost its war in 1840 from America and Europea.. Australia people was divide and married to America and Europea.. And didn't know if its food culture and dress tradition was conserve. And it was bringing back again is name Australia of Sidney Theater which is see in America.. Connecticut probably.. It all sounds a bit weird. And I'm Australian.😊Australia was colonised by England. Our food was poor, because we were a big empty country with no agriculture. We've multicultural, and over the years, we've adapted and embraced food from many races and countries.
Greeks did not invent the pie. The Romans and Egyptians did. Australia improved on it by using 2 different pastries making it a handheld version and starting to make various flavours etc. Also, Australia did invent the Avo and Toast the only thing is it was originally Avo on an Italian Continental Bread and called Avocado Bruschetta. Chicken Parma is NOT American it is an Italian Dish, it was made long before America was even discovered. Spag Bol doesn't have mushrooms in it. Anzac Biscuits were invented by name in Adelaide where some other type of biscuit was named before. The original version had oats etc in them so they would make the long journey without spoiling and the soldiers had to soak them in water or coffee to make them soft because they were hard as a rock. lol Plus, New Zealand and Americans think they invented everything.
@brianshipp8991 Bullshit. Parm is Italian, and Italians had tomatoes before America was even discovered. Instead of meat, it was eggplant / aubergine most of the time because Italians couldn't afford meat, but most raised chickens.
@brianshipp8991 chicken parmigiana is Italian, but most Italians were dirt poor and most used eggplant. As for avo on toast, as a main meal is Australian but Americans used to have it as an appetizer. There are only a couple of years of difference between discovery. Doesn't matter as Australians made a lot of foods famous, eg, meat pies but made the first hand held pie, avo on toast, chicken parma, and so on.
No it's definitely not 100 percent legitimate towards yourself at all times it's always always will be a Australian dessert not even Russian at all times do your research properly at all times towards yourself
Australia seems really poor in their culinary. They borrowed all sorts of second rate dishes from British, Italians and Americans. ...they should just talk about Kangaroo steak or Allegator liver. Now that would be unique. 😆
Every country borrowed food from each other. American food was copied from Germans,.( hamburgers, hot dogs, fried chicken from Scotland) Same as Britian, (fish and chips, from the Greeks) Even spaghetti was copied from Asia (noodles were brought back by Marco Polo, an Italian) 😊.
1. that is not a proper pavlova at all, the base is much thicker, only one layer needed. Chicken parmi is served with salad and hot chips in many an aussie pub, if you want to talk about aussie dishes, whyever did you only talk about american dish styles? That's just nuts. Your pics use way too much vegemite. Some believe? Are you really trying to annoy the aussies, you are going the right way about it.
Omg….sorry to ‘chime in again’, but, please do not destroy our vanilla slice!!! Firstly i wouldn’t eat the thing you have shown….and I have never seen this thing in Australia. A Vanilla Slice is a cheap ‘lunchtime’ cake for Aussie kids and workers, and is not an elegant looking cake but does have a heavy white icing on top to sweeten the otherwise very boring cake. It is not iconic, or even all that popular…..most Aussies have had one, but that doesn’t put it amongst our most iconic or best foods. Sorry, this is such a frustrating video. Where do you get your information from…..clearly, not from any Aussie’s. I don’t meant to be mean about it, but in fairness, you should do some research before declaring that you have a definitive guide to things you know nothing about. The problem with your approach, is that I no longer trust your information about any country. I just searched best Russian foods, and came across your channel. I have been to Russia and had borscht….one of the best soups I have ever had. But, I then saw you had a video on Australian foods….and that was a train wreck…..so now, I can’t take your Russian food video seriously either. I suggest, doing ‘due diligence’, before releasing videos that claim to be authoritative.
Actually the chicken parmigiana is actually created in Germany because the chicken is a schnitzels i know for a fact because the German immigrants bought it around the world
