Yes, he lived in Redwood City. Good guy. He had put nearly all of Formula dynamics. Mods on the car except did not touch the exhaust as his wife liked the car quiet so I did the full exhaust. It’s a little louder than I probably would prefer but sure sounds beautiful. I really haven’t put that many miles on it since I’ve had it. Considered selling it but sure do love it.

Yes, I did....in Redwood City. He did many of the formula dynamics mods to the car but no exhaust work as his wife wanted it quiet. I only intended to put decats on it, but we found someone had put coupe mufflers on it, un beknownst to the guy I bought it from--long story there--but so then I needed mufflers for better performance. It was actually TOO loud and raspy then. Jeff and I at FD, looked at options and just decided to put Larini H pipe on too. The GS Xpipe is great, high performance with free flow, but has no resonators in it...the H pipe does. Thus the Xpipe put on a stock coupe is a great upgrade. So a simple and not too costly job of just putting on decats became an expensive and entire exhaust change, full Larini.

@@eddy91604 I was a bit reluctant about the yellow at first but now love it. And many friends really like the yellow and I get compliments. We have concluded that yellow in a normal car isn't so nice, but a 'super car' or vintage muscle car it is nice. The big giant brembo brakes probably isn't an expense I would have incurred, large one at that, if it were me, but I do really appreciate all else he had done to it.
The grand sport come stock with an X pipe. It was too loud with the larini decats and mufflers so I bought the Larini H pipe as well. I detailed that in a comment above. The Larini H pipe has more resonators in it in the stock X pipe. It’s still a bit too loud for my taste but sounds great. If you keep off the gas it is tame and not too loud. But that’s hard to do.
@@curtiscampi7613 - keep OEM cats and tail resonators + replace OEM X-pipe with Larini unit = problem solved. It will be nearly as quiet as stock, smooths exhaust pulses, and give you the sound you want without the volume. You'll also have better throttle response than the H-pipe.

@@curtiscampi7613 The yellow on your car is extremely rare; I've seen 4200GTs with this paint, but I don't think I have ever seen a yellow GranSport listed. These are definitely hottest in either red or yellow. You made a great choice. These aren't the most practical cars on the planet, which is why it seems the turnaround rate is pretty quick. But, for those who've fallen in love with 'em, they don't want to let go of them.
@@2Ajosh Well, I had to replace my mufflers as they somehow got swapped to coupe versus gransport mufflers before I bought it. So initially we put Larini mufflers and decats on. If you can believe it, the car was TOO loud...and pretty raspy. Jeff at FD called and told me it was the loudest car he thinks he had ever had in his shop. We contemplated what to do....try putting some resonators in my X pipe, modify a grand tourismo pipe he had or put in the Larini H pipe. We went with the H. It took away some of the raspy, though you can still hear it has some raspiness. It sounds more throaty I'd say, which I love the throaty sound. And it did quiet it a bit. So in my case the H pipe....with stock GS mufflers I and Jeff at FD think just larini decats is a pretty good sound with stock X pipe and GS mufflers.
