WOW, just absolutely freakin' WOW. I'm 75 years old and never heard of nor thought of using Lime-A-Way for removing rust like that. I was ready to go over to Advance Auto and get some chrome polish and use a week's worth of elbow grease to clean up my old Goldwing. This is just amazing. I suppose I could use some chrome polish after the Lime-A-Way to put on a protective coat against oxidation. THANKS A TON for taking the time to educate us.

Turtle wax sells a chrome polisher and rust remover all in one, for$ 2.49 at Wal-Mart. Used it on my King. Removed the rust and shined the chrome. Best stuff I've ever used. But if the lime away works by all means, use it. Just that the turtle is faster and safer.

LCR - First, then, 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup water in spray bottle.. base...white wall cleaner.. and use alfoil flat as softer than chrome plating

could you pls mention the acid neutralizer which you sprayed after the lime away did its job in the description?

Just a soapy water based cleaner. I just happened to grab a spray bottle with white wall cleaner. Any soapy spray will work, then polish...

Watch that concrete. It usually has some limestone in it and Lime Away can eat it up too.

If you want to get rid of the pitting that's on the Chrome use a steel wool pad it works like magic!

problem is that you take another layer off so it will rust even quicker next time is took outside.

White Vinegar and fine steel wool or scotchbright pads will give you great results on chrome and will not hurt paint, seals ect.

Question, I have a bottle of Lime A Way and realized it cleans rust and decided to do some research on it. I have a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee with slight rust forming on the calipers and a bit on the rotor mount. Don’t exactly know how to take a caliper assembly apart so through your experience would it be safe to wrap/take my wheels off and spray and scrub the calipers or no?

I would say use small amount only where the rust is, clean it off carefully with soapy cleaner, dry it and then paint or clear coat the former rust areas. Keep it off the rubber, brake pads, and the rotor .

Rub with wet aluminium foil, you will be amazed at the results.

Just water and aluminium foil and the rust comes off? No lime away or anything.

Yes it will, its basically just eating away at surface rust

I assume that is only for surface rust.

After you clean off the rust what kind of clear coat can be applied to make sure the exposed pits don’t rust again?

Don't get it near seals. Any good soapy substance then polish....
