And I'm reeeeally thinking about going Cobb stage 2+ with the cold air intake, boost control solenoid and accessport!
Awesome, if it's your daily that's all pretty nice stuff for reliability. I would definitely recommend shooting for stage 2, you'll love it. Maybe even going for flex fuel. How was wrapping the headliner? I'm planning on doing that on my Z project

No, you'll want your tuner to send you a base map to load up so it doesn't do any damage. It's good to have an access port for that. If not you'll have to trailer it. Basically any mod on a Subaru you need a tune or you'll do some damage. They are not very adaptable.
Did you get a dyno tune after the wastegate install or is it cool to keep the same tune? And what happens to the electronic boost solenoid? Just leave it plugged in and sit there or hook it up to the external wastegate? But if the electronic solenoid is not working nomore,Does it put the CEL on?
I had too get it returned because it works a bit differently then an internal wastegate and my tuner said you have to get an aftermarket 3 port boost control solenoid for it all to plumb and work properly. So I have it hooked up to a grimspeed 3 port with custom tune
You mean to the up pipe? Yeah it's definitely a little tight. You might be able to get a big clamp and squeeze it together and then clamp it. You're basically fighting the spring tension

The wastegate won't give you that unfortunately, its a bit different sound but just look up grimspeed ewg uppipe and you'll find it. The sound that you're looking for comes from either a bov with a stronger spring or blocking off the bov all together but they say that they effects the life of your turbo. Not sure but unless you have cash for a new one I probably wouldn't try it lol
Please i hope you can answer this, the dump pipe that connect to the side of the ewg what does other side get connected to? Just vent to air? The part at 7:35 one side goes into the ewg what about the other end?
You mean the other end of the dump tube? It's just open to vent air, that's why you want to make sure it's not pointed towards anything but the ground because it will burn it.
@@KyleHidalgo hey bro i got my up pipe with turbo smart EWG installed but now my turbo doesn't produce any boost at all. I checked all boost hose and exhaust leak and still nothing. The max it hits is 5psi?
There is a chart that shows you which springs = what pressure. My tuner recommend 1 bar of pressure which is about 15lbs of boost. So basically if something isn't working right you'll run off just wastegate pressure which will max at 15lbs. So right now I'm at 24lbs of boost but if something messed up or the controller wasn't working I'd max at 15. You probably don't want to go much higher than that in a daily.
I actually had them rebuild a vf48 that I had sitting around! So far it's holding up amazingly and it's been months. I did a review video and an install video.

What did you do to the 02 sensor that was attached to the OEM uppipe? Do you just not use it anymore?
It's been a long time. I can't really remember unfortunately but I'm pretty sure my downpipe had a bung for it still so I kept it plugged in

How did your clamp the wastegate to the downpipe mine is very tight not as easy is there any tricks?

So right now I'm at 24lbs of boost but if something messed up or the controller wasn't working I'd max at 15. You probably don't want to go much higher than that in a daily.

Yeah you definitely do. Subarus are very temperamental with change so you need a tune for pretty much anything you do but especially for this.
I got them as a combo off nasioc used but you can find combo deals or just the ewg uppipe for sale on the suby aftermarket sites

You could have left the iwg on and disconnect the boost line going to it, it would have kept the wastegate shut
