I'm with you, Janet. I'm 57 and just discovered 1/2" barrel curling wand to give my super fine, straight hair tight curls at the crown and tons of volume. I don't mind if it's cheugy because I love having this volume. Also, my silvers are coming in hot and I use a purple shampoo every other wash so I'm already on my way to a mushroom blonde. I will continue with a few highlights around my face but cannot be bothered coloring and bleaching anymore.
Well said! 👏🏻 I'm 52 and naturally light blonde anyway (no grey/white). I lighten it a bit as it brightens my complexion up. I have no desire to darken my hair and look dull and boring. I hate that darker blonde look on me anyway (for me personally. Suits some folk of course)
Im upping my blonde but only because it suits me best. The mushroom makes my skin look meh, so it‘s all about what is best. So some beauties can really do that gorgeous Mushroom I love it.
I really like the dimension of your current color and it suits you. When it comes to hairstyling trends, I've learned to accept that most trends won't work with my hair since it has natural curl. My mother had the opposite problem: straight hair that wouldn't hold curl. She'd pay to get salon perms while I'd straighten my hair with a round brush and hairdryer every day before school. She used to say that she wished she had my hair and I wished she did too!

I'm going to be off trend I guess! Lol 😄My natural hair is almost solidly white from above my ears to my temples (think Elvira, princess of the dark, or bride of Frankenstein) . I am heavily highlighted to blend my white and dark hair and the graying top of my head. Getting color to stay on my white pieces is tough. It rarely matches the rest of my hair. If by chance the colored white hair matches the rest - it appears very dark, obvious, and overdone and fades faster than my brunette does and will look purple or red as it fades. Also, the white root regrowth sparkles like glitter on my scalp within 2 weeks. It's a ton of maintenance for me to go back to dark. I'll be keeping my blonde and just be out of style, I guess! Lol. My hairdresser has been adding more low lights, so maybe I can continue that or ask her to increase them. She does such an excellent job with blending my white sideburns into the highlights that most people are shocked to find out I'm not a natural blonde. She's a keeper!
I love the shaggy cut. I haven’t tried it yet. Anywho, I’ll do as I please with my hair, clothes, etc. I couldn’t care in the slightest what the current trends are. Lol
If you have fine hair with no volume, dont get layers, it makes the hair appear thinned out, for this hair type blunt ends suit the hair best, long or short.
After a hairdresser burnt off my 1 meter long full, healthy, platinum hair, I cut it all off and went dark blonde/brunette. Honestly, blonde isn’t worth it. Love the more natural look and your hair color!
Thanks Silviya, I I love mushroom and champagne tones. I went for a pink toner this time and because my hair dresser mixes different colours, I've got lovely pink champagne and mushroom tones through my hair, I got some lowlights the last time. If people cared this much about how they acted rather than how they looked the world would be a much better place. Avoid over thinking how you look, and enjoy who you are.
I’ve noticed soooooo many people who were blonde or light hair go jet black to dark brown. There’s like a tremendous increase in brunettes varying from all shades but black hair seems to have really become popular.
Glad the wave with straight ends is over. Never liked that look. Sadly, I never could do extensions because my hair is very silky and fine and extensions use Asian hair which is too different a texture to blend in with mine. Never looked good. I like a good shag or bob though.
Lol! I’m loving the ageing Millennials getting mad at Gen Z. I’m LATE Gen X (1979) so I’m in sync with the elder Millennials. It’s amazing how youth flies by and all of a sudden you’re pretty much a Boomer to the young ones. Let’s embrace it! It’s kinda funny, actually!
I'm a platinum blonde and I don't think I'll be over it it's not fried or dry I keep it healthy. Mushroom brown or darker blonde I'm sorry..noo.. too dull for me. Personally either platinum blonde hair or deep dark rich brown is the best on me so trends don't go with everyone

I've seen a lot of Copper Red tones lately...I was so obsessed with going a lighter blonde lately..but randomly decided to do light copper Red yesterday. .I used Ion w 20 developer.. It came out pretty good...
I just do what I'm in the mood for regardless of the trend. What looks and makes me feel my best. But it is interesting to know a hairstylists opinion on the cyreent trends.
"I feel like it's here to stay for a bit." That's the thing about bangs. Unless your hair grows super fast, bangs are a long-term commitment. This hair trend is followed by 'how to style/hide long bangs' for months lol
Sadly, nothing today in these trends is about “celebrating what you have”. Absolutely nothing. We have to change everything about ourselves to look hot and fit in. We can’t be our natural self and look good as we should anymore. These trends are a joke and need to go. If you don't like fashion or beauty trends, that's fine. It's not shallow or corrupt for people who want to follow the seasons and fashion movements as a personal pleasure. It's no different than keeping up with any other hobby. People who value these things aren't brainwashed, tricked by consumerism or manipulated. You can justify your indifference to fashionista lifestyles and values without the added layer of insecurity in condemning it.
The shag wasn't only a trend in the 70's. Being in the rock scene as a 91 kid, everyone in my large, at festivals and rock clubs was rocking that. It's overworn in my view. Also, can we just say that trends can be fun because it can give you a change or make you realize that something will suit you but it also sucks for the most part? For me, I don't feel creative and I get over whatever trend I did very quickly vs when I randomly do something that isn't a trend per se. Also, most things won't necessarily suit you. Maybe you have curly hair, or it's so naturally dark that you can't avoid damage if you bleached it...
this is a great video, your commentary is always on point! i love the clean bob but have curly hair & it absolutely does not look good with my hair texture :c

I take no notice and go with my hair texture and what suits me and i take hair salon advice. My hairs that thick i do not need extensions!
I’ve noticed soooooo many people who were blonde or light hair go jet black to dark brown. There’s like a tremendous increase in brunettes varying from all shades but black hair seems to have really become popular.
Video starts at 2:06
I just want my hair to grow and stop falling out from stress and COVID 😅
Exactly.
YOUR HAIR IS GORGEOUS
I love the 1st hairstyle you showed!
I always hated curled hair with straight ends.
Glad the wave with straight ends is over. Never liked that look. Sadly, I never could do extensions because my hair is very silky and fine and extensions use Asian hair which is too different a texture to blend in with mine. Never looked good. I like a good shag or bob though.
Blessings to you and your family 🌻! Can you please do a update for 2023 winter hair styles and cuts?
Love this comment ! We are the same age! Feel ya!
They call anyone over 30 a boomer. It's quite sad actually. Can't imagine being so rude and disrespectful to people older than me, when I was young.
@@lindatannock ya no kidding. They’re bringing back the “don’t trust anyone over 30” attitude
I buzzed all my hair but I still watched this whole video 😂
I'm a platinum blonde and I don't think I'll be over it it's not fried or dry I keep it healthy. Mushroom brown or darker blonde I'm sorry..noo.. too dull for me. Personally either platinum blonde hair or deep dark rich brown is the best on me so trends don't go with everyone
Platinum Blonde here couldnt agree more!! very well said!!
Yes, exactly. I love the contrast and I hate my current medium blond colour.
Really enjoyed listening to this video. Love your beautiful hair!
Thank you for the info. I have not yet mastered the way your hair is now . Those two swoops , its my favorite hairstyle that i just cant get.I honestly think you did a tutorial but can you do one on today's hair look. Thank you .
My hair is naturally bright silver and I would never tone it down because I like it that way and I don't care what other people think.
Love, the darker tones on you. Gorgeous!
I noticed that sandy blonde tones too. Great video Silvia
I've seen a lot of Copper Red tones lately...I was so obsessed with going a lighter blonde lately..but randomly decided to do light copper Red yesterday. .I used Ion w 20 developer.. It came out pretty good...
Any red will age your face too much. If you're not a ginger to start with leave it alone.
@@linxj6 i completely disagree. The right red for your skin tone will really make you glow in the most beautiful way.
You’re so cozy! I love it. I love your sweaters!! Where do you get yours? The quality looks so good
Girl I applaud 👏 you for doing this video. I know a lot of people feelings are goin to get hurt. Thanks for ur advice a few I agree with
I just do what I'm in the mood for regardless of the trend. What looks and makes me feel my best. But it is interesting to know a hairstylists opinion on the cyreent trends.
Have any suggestions for the best natural, curly extensions? Loved this video!
Love the clean bob, so cute 🥰
"I feel like it's here to stay for a bit." That's the thing about bangs. Unless your hair grows super fast, bangs are a long-term commitment. This hair trend is followed by 'how to style/hide long bangs' for months lol
Sadly, nothing today in these trends is about “celebrating what you have”. Absolutely nothing. We have to change everything about ourselves to look hot and fit in. We can’t be our natural self and look good as we should anymore. These trends are a joke and need to go. I have a daughter and I worry for her as she grows up amongst all of these ridiculous trends. 🙄
Right because the other hair trends for the past thousands of years were about “celebrating what you have”
@Hannah D… yes, same here
Keeping my silver but now doing center part from your earlier video.
I love how this video is filmed and uploaded in smooth 50fps. I wish I could subscribe to a series like this where there are always like the new Trends shortly summarized. I didn't expect it but the video was really informative and nice :)
I'm sorry, but blond hair, is always in! Not white blond, but blonds rock!
thank youuu, I wish you'd include styles for curly hair next time :)
I don't listen to Gen Zers. To them, "blonde" may be "out of style", that's ok. I'm not a gen-Zer. I'm a millenial. lmao
Who actually cares about what "gen-Z" considers trendy??
Teenagers. You’re too old for trends I guess.
@@icedcat4021 Uh...nope...
I love trends... as long as they suit my style. I did split hair dye, emo hair dye, galaxy hair, watermelon hair, sunset coral/neon orange hair. I love the new eyeliner where you do triangle at outer corners and another line over eye. I love glitter and bling of all types!! I did cold-shoulder tops, trendy skirts, heavy goth/emo clothes in Japan, Harajuku girl, tried the Lolita girl look but it looked super stupid on me! lol
I hung with Visual Kei Rock Band guys in Japan... even dated a rock guitarist there for a couple of years... I could head bang with the best!
I have no problems with trends, and I don't think they are just for teenagers either!! When you get older, you have EARNED the right to do whatever the heLL you want, and you don't really give a crap what anyone else thinks!! When you aren't a teenager anymore, you will figure out what I meant!! lol
Until then... enjoy being a teenager!! It goes by fast...
Maybe you have curly hair, or it's so naturally dark that you can't avoid damage if you bleached it...
thank GOD FOR VOLUME!!!
Can you tell me the name of your hair color??? I love it😍!!! How do I explain to my hair dresser this color and look. Is it a certain balayage?
Who follows trends anymore? Wear the hair that best suits your own hair type, skin tone, and personal sense of style. 🙄
3 hair pics totalling 10 sec for 3 min of I shop at this sponsor footage 👍
Well now I know what to avoid as I don’t like trends, thank you!
thanks i still like my long straight hair and when everyone wants to grow out their bobs again i will already have my 28 inch hair
this is a great video, your commentary is always on point! i love the clean bob but have curly hair & it absolutely does not look good with my hair texture :c
Girl your voice is asmr
This colour is superb on you! Pls show us how you achieve it x
I like that my natural mushroomy sandy hair is in, finally. Mushroom is a way nicer name than mousy or rat.
Love your sweater! Where’s it from?
Can you pls make an outfits vid? Love you’re style 💕💖
would you say your hair has a more ashy tone? Im getting my hair done and i like yours so im wondering what to tell my stylist!
Does anyone know why Silvia named her channel ellebangs? Curious me.
Beautiful silver hair is always in.🦋🌺🦋🌺🦋🌺🦋
What products do you recommend for hair growth ?
Sylvia I love your hair darker it looks beautiful on you. Thank you for this video dear 💕.
Sylvia is beautiful no matter what color!
I do really like the tones and shades you have right now. It looks perfect. xo
"Gen Z said that blonde isn't in" 🙄
This is all for people with straight hair and white people... as long as the white people also have straight hair.
That mushroom hair color looks spetacular on you.
I’ve never heard of a haircut being “lived in”.
So who decides what’s in?
‘Mushroom’ is also called ‘$hit brindle brown’…..by we olds blonds 😜
