    It was a bit unclear how you incorporated the hair mask, so feel free to disregard this, but my hairstylist says hair masks don’t really help unless you use them before the conditioner! The conditioner seals the strands so the mask actually can’t penetrate the hair and do as much as it would before, finish with conditioner :)

    never use heat wash 1-2x a week mines still luscious long and growin more than I’ve ever imagined. So I’m going with it and growing it out, and I’ll prove that you don’t need any product other than shampoo/conditioner. Don’t even need that when you find the right natural products….

    My hair is extremly thick and course (and quite long). For shampoo and conditioner I use Shea Moisture (the strengthen and restore line). I started using it when I had bleached/dyed hair but I don't anymore and I'm just scared to switch my products. I also use the Burts Bees pomegranate shampoo and conditioner on top (mostly because I like my hair to smell like pomegranate) and then I use a detangler from MKS eco that my mom has used on my hair since I was a child in an attempt to tame my hair. I don't bother curling or using heat unless I'm performing because it takes forever and I need my dad to do it for me.

    I used to watch these tips for healthy hair and was devastated that mine are nothing like that. But recently I’ve realised that genetics is something you won’t change unfortunetely. Redhead will never have hair like bunette and brunette will never have hair like redhed. And you also will never have hair like your neighbour 😅 also messed hormones after going off the pill made drastic change in quality of my hair 😭 but you have to try your best right? 🙂

    • @JackieWyers
      @JackieWyers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah you can find good tips and new products to try but shampoo is glorified soap for hair, can't completely change the hair type! You are so right and I'm sure you have lovely hair. I just got ON the pill (and im a bit of a nightmare with mood swings and cravings honestly) - you found your hair was nicer on it? interesting

    • @nancy8811
      @nancy8811 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JackieWyers I would not say they were nicer on it. Rather my hormones got into inbalance and my hair started falling out like crazy and their structure completely changed. They used to be quite straight and now they are wavy. 🤷‍♀️

    my hair is about mid length right now I'm trying to grow it a little longer but it's been a struggle despite me using high quality products... It's been drying out weirdly and wirey, I was dehydrated. It still hasn't gone back to it's shiny

    What's the difference between normal and drugstore products

    • @haleyboston
      @haleyboston 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Professional products usually have better quality ingredients and are good for highlighted or coloured hair.
      Drugstore products usually have cheap ingredients, and are high in pH 7.5-8 which is equivalent to a clarifying shampoo, which is designed to only be used once a week. They dry out the hair so much that conditioner doesn’t help.
      The only brand that doesn’t do that to my hair at the drugstore, is herbal essence. That’s the only brand I’m willing to get at the drugstore.

    Is there anything about this routine you would change for someone wanting to grow their hair out long? For reference I cut my hair about 2 months ago. It was longish (it reached below my bra strap) and I cut it to under my chin. Now I say it’s almost to my shoulders again.

    • @JackieWyers
      @JackieWyers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't change much for hair growth! I think sometimes too many products can create more build up (at least for me with fine textured hair.) For more length, def try not to blow dry hair and have it air dry, sleep in braids for waves, silk pillow cases are great, trim your hair a little bit yourself if you have a simple cut like I do. Those are my best trips! xo

  • @earthbruja5268
    @earthbruja5268 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Your hair definitely needs a trim. My hair was as long as yours and my ends were starting to look thin and i was so sure that my hair was overall super thin. Got 3 inches cut and my hair feels a lot thicker now. I don't think your hair is thin. Just probably feels that way because of the ends. But thanks for these tips.

    • @JackieWyers
      @JackieWyers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know, I mentioned I do need a haircut in the video lol but wanted to film this while I had the chance in the bathroom and show the products I love! I really like beachy hairstyles and don't really love when my hair is newly blunt cut so I keep putting it off

    • @earthbruja5268
      @earthbruja5268 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JackieWyers 100% understand that as mine were cut blunt and its definitely a bit jarring seeing myself now. 😂 Nobody else could tell I had a haircut as "it's still so long." I hadn't had a haircut in 5 years at that point and what made me get the trim was the fact that in the last few years it just sat bum level. So I knew my ends were breaking off. Atleast now I can try to take better care of my locks and stick to atleast a yearly trim. You have beautiful gorgeous hair regardless.

  • @Floridameerkat93

    That not brushing it when wet thing is bs. Brushing hair when it's wet with conditioner in is the best time to detangle it, especially if your hair isn't straight.

    • @JackieWyers
      @JackieWyers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i like to brush with a wide tooth comb with conditioner too! feels so nice. I still find for me it's easier to detangle it dry prior to that so that I don't have any knots to untangle in the shower. If you have really curly hair you'd probably want different products/ steps. this is what works on my fine straight hair for my own hair care routine!
