Mad props to the devs for not turning Tattletail into another big mascot horror franchise. They released a dlc after the initial release, and that was it.
a part of me kinda wishes that there were more things about tattletail, but we all know what happens when you make an entire mascot horror universe or whatever so i think that the devs made the right decision to not really expand on it that much, just the dlc and then nothing more about it maybe theres more stuff on twitter or reddit or whatever but i dont use any of those so i dont know anything for some reason i always remember the game from time to time, i never had a furby or anything like that but the game just feels... different from others, i dont really know how to explain
You probably don't know this, but *heavy spoiler for main game*! Tattletail MIGHT be an allegory for Child ab*se, likely inflicted to the protagonist by their mother. Digging through Tattletail entirely (including the Kaleidoscope DLC) with this theory in mind helps explains the 'weird' segments, Tattletail's dialogue, and even why Mama attacks us. There's many evidence in game that support this, that it's almost impossible to play the game, take it literally/ignore it after you find out that it might be an allegory for something far more sinister. Children express their emotions and mindset while playing with toys. They imagine scenarios in their heads that you only get to see partially with the toys they have in their current possession. Sometimes, they'd even make "voice impressions" of the characters they're playing as. Which could also be the reason why all Tattletails sound the same. All Baby Tattletails are a representation of you, projecting your trauma onto the toys, roleplaying. Their mischievousness is you being mischievous, even evidenced by the fact that you yourself takes out Baby Tattletail 5 days prior to Christmas time. Their loudness is just your spatial awareness mixed with the toy randomly rambling, the fact that it's dead of night makes you extra conscious of making noises. (we all had a point in our childhood where we tip-toed so that no one hears that we're sneaking around) Mama symbolizes, well, your mother. She attacks you because you made too much noise in the night. Which, feels like you woke up your mom in the middle of the night and she got angry at you for it. The eggs you pick up are an allegory to the mess you make when you try to play with the Tattletail toy. Which in my interpretation, kind of makes me think that by not 'picking up the mess' you made, your mother finds out you opened your gift box early, and then she gets angry at you (which is why Mama attacks you). Even the stressful moments of being in the dark with Mama feels so damn reminiscent of the idea that you're sneaking around near your parent's bedroom, not wanting to get caught and get hurt as consequences of it. Too close, even. *KALEIDOSCOPE SPOILERS!!!* The Kaleidoscope DLC might also be a representation of you finally growing up, but you are in denial of what your mother did to you. All the abuse you suffered, hidden behind the thought that "maybe mom wasn't actually so bad, she still loves me, right? She didn't kick me out yet, she fed me, so that means she does love me, right?" And it's all represented behind the fact that all your memories of the entire game is changed, to make Mama look good. Apparently, by "Mama" herself. Tattletail's green eyed demeanor throughout the entire Kaleidoscope DLC likely shows us that THIS is what you're gonna grow up to be, if you don't face the truth of your trauma and accept it as a part of what happened to you, be at peace with it but still not forgiving your mother for the damage of what she did. You WILL grow up to be a cynical, boring, and nihilistic person, with a negative outlook of the world. As someone who grew up with abusive parents, the moment I realized this, it just... really hit me hard. REALLY hard. It was like a whiplash, a surge of memories passing through me and the pain that came with it. It's really hard to face the past, but you have to. Or else, you'll never change. And it's likely that you'll continue the cycle that perpetuates. And if this theory is somehow true, then that just further makes Tattletail a complex masterpiece of a game, and it's devs are geniuses. Hope you like this theory as much as I did!
I always suspected this, the minute I thought about that, everything about the game just clicked. I also thought that what if tattletail represented some kind of younger sibling you had to keep quiet or else you’re both in trouble, or something like that. Maybe not, but it’s just an idea.
Idk if anyone has said this, but how tattletail feels and acts towards 'mama', has struck me as how an abused child views their abusive parent. saying they're "scary", wanting to know where the parent is and becoming frightened at not being able to know that information, playing with friends and needing to 'survive' whenever the parent walks in. Those stuck out to me like a sore thumb. The yellow tattletail snitching could easily be said friend, unaware of the situation, telling the parent where the child is hiding from her. If you don't get every egg, mama gets you, and some eggs can be tricky to find on the right 'days' (in quotations since almost the whole game takes place at night). It felt to how difficult it can be for a child to permanently get away from an abuser. I feel the DLC has faint themes of it too, with looking back on childhood trauma and having to leave behind 'mama' for good. I'll be real, this is all likely not intentional in ANY way. I sure can't explain the Christmas ritual this way, or the lore behind the company waygetter and their toys. But as someone with a pretty rocky connection to their own parents, I thought it was present enough to comment about it.

It’s telling u how she functions in the game but I feel like everyone leaves before the tape finishes, get attacked by Mama and likely die not understanding her mechanics. It’s set up, but the player has to choose to stick around just long enough to hear that set up. Ok, so my brother nor I never got a furby growing up. I had learned on tamagotchi that I wasn't interested on being beholden to virtual creatures if I couldn't turn them off. But my mom's best friend brought her kids over, and her daughter had a furby with her. A furby that she forgot to bring with her when she went home, so we were tasked with caring for it until she came back. That responsibility didn't even last 24 hours. We asked the mom & daughter on the phone how to get it to sleep, and they said it would if we put it in a dark space, so we put it in my bedroom closet, and it did fall asleep. Until some time that night when we woke up to the thing screaming like it was being murdered. Also, it was put up on a shelf in the closet, so my brother and I, being young children, could not reach it to stop it. The back wall of the closet was the shared wall with our parent's bedroom, so my dad must have been hearing it, because he came in, pulled the thing down, and when we couldn't tell him how to stop it, opened it up and ripped out the batteries.
oh i didnt hear about the collectable part but someone did send me a small list of what the devs also made (including what remains of edith finch, donut county and sonic dreams collection of all games)
I never had any of the newer furbys but I have 2 my mom got when she was a kid so some time between the late 80s to the 90s, haven't replace the batteries cause we don't know what's gonna happen and she got them from her grandparents so their special to her and she doesn't what to ruin them(they're in really good condition and only have dust on them from sitting on the counter/shelf for the longest time), but me and my sister grew up with one of those blue weird things that have motion sensor and would say boomba or dance, scared the crap out of me when it would go off at night in our closet with the door close, it now reside in our mom's closet, it doesn't scared me anymore but still creepy af.
Im glad they gave up on tattletail 2 bc if im not wrong they were gonna make a 2nd game but idk what happened. But in my opinion the game is amazing and im glad they just released the first game, the dlc, ect.
I wonder why tattletale is afraid of mama tattletale I thought she was aggressive towards the player because we weren’t taking care of her babies…. Or maybe she wants to keep control over her babies and gets mad when they find someone to love them and take care of them so she flips out! But it’s just a theory… A GAME THE-
I read somewhere that the reason Tattletail wants you to take them to Mama is an attempt to show her that you're friends. Seeing how they have set up a whole ritual and none of them like her it implies that she's a serial killer to those that 'take' her kids.
Im glad they gave up on tattletail 2 bc if im nkt wrikng they were gonna make a 2nd game but idk what happened the gis is perfect and im glad they just released the irst game the dlc ect

I sometimes really wish that Telltale has gotten the sequel like the game how did so much potential and we only got a DLC and nothing came out of it.
so anyways what has everyone gotten for christmas this year? (assuming you already opened your presents)
A bit late but, I got this awesome book called “murdle” in which you solve puzzles using a grid and clues to solve the murders 😄
The second I read the word. Tattletail i got hit with nostalgia
Screams his tiny little….
Realizing he has no neck
His tiny little head off. 😂
I want a tomodatchi game but with Tattletail. Call it Tattledatchi
i still can't forget how my dumbass put my furby in the mircowave
The picture of the 1998 furbys looks like same exact design I have
Please make a video on the dlc!
ERM... AKSHUALLY..
man, i never forgot,
"Block!" Tattletail, probably.
Im glad they gave up on tattletail 2 bc if im not wrong they were gonna make a 2nd game but idk what happened. But in my opinion the game is amazing and im glad they just released the first game, the dlc, ect.
BANGER
I wonder why tattletale is afraid of mama tattletale I thought she was aggressive towards the player because we weren’t taking care of her babies….
Or maybe she wants to keep control over her babies and gets mad when they find someone to love them and take care of them so she flips out! But it’s just a theory… A GAME THE-
I read somewhere that the reason Tattletail wants you to take them to Mama is an attempt to show her that you're friends. Seeing how they have set up a whole ritual and none of them like her it implies that she's a serial killer to those that 'take' her kids.
i never forgot it o loved tattletale :( i also had my own furby i loved it
Is it just me, or in the first phone calls gargled noise. Theres sounds of i think maybe a car crash in the back of it.
21:00 is it really a demonic ritual if you are casting the demon away XD
Truly aww inspiring of respect

What is the background music called?
Alot of the music i use for vids comes from the ultimate custom night soundtrack, the fnaf world soundtrack or some of the works from The Caretaker
Thanks
Uh oOOOoooH uh OOOOooooOoOh
The people who think that any horror game that fallows a night format is a fnaf clone need to play bark. Now that’s a cool horror game. Tattletail is still my favorite though.
