Thank you for posting this video. It got me out of a real jam. Popped out a tire on a ram 1500 and I tried everything to to get it to seat. Looked up a video on how to do it and this is the first one I saw. It worked magic. Good job!
I cant believe it. The spare on the back of the jeep was off the bead. (Thank you discount tire for giving it back to me like this) I never used the ratchet strap before. So figured that out then wrapped it, greased it while still mounted. Pushed the compressor to 90psi and POP! Hey, if a 75yo lady can do it anybody can. THANK YOU!
Matt, you may not have the best editing skills, damn you know how to bead a tire. Fixed my lawn mower tire in under 5 min, whereas my coworker said it usually takes them around an hour to do it. Thanks, Matt!
Dude! You don't know how much money you just saved me! I just brought larger rims and tires for my jeep that came with no sensors. Now I can just add my stock ones and spend an extra hundred plus on adding them. Thanks
Worked great. Put some soap on the rim and filled with air. Slowly crept without adding constant pressure and finally popped into place without my hands anywhere near the tire.
Good trick I have used it a few times, sometimes I take out the schrader valve if the bead just does not want to seat. More air gets in faster that way.
Good point! I've been using this trick for a long time now and nobody seems to think of this as being an option. I wish I had an air compressor again, but I bought a new house and I had to leave my 55 gallon at the old house. I don't work on cars as much as I used to anymore, so I can't justify having a large compressor.
Or you can just take the valve stem out and hit it straight air. that usually sets the bead. or you can do it like the good ol days and one ring of starting fluid around the bead, light it and bam bead is set
blew the wheel weight off when the bead popped, any hints on how to avoid this, and most importantly hope you weren't winged by that since it could be about like a bullet flying?
Did that once - just stood the wheel up, sat on it, bounced and rolled a little and popped in and re-inflated no problemo! Be careful, you'll put your eye out.
So that will work hitting a pot hole.My tire was brand new.The pot hole was small. But tried to put air in it and wouldn't fill so I'll try this method see if it works.$90 tire to no more than a day old.
My idiot friends were doing donuts aired down in my F-150... the stock Goodyear Wranglers de-bead pretty easy. Luckily we were able to strap it and use a Milwaukee inflator to air it up. But if you can, you want high flow pump. And if this doesn't work, remove the valve core, try airing it up, let the air out, put the valve core back in and you should be good.,
About to try this on my e scooter (cruiser s) so if I don't come back to update? That's because it worked. Otherwise there will be an edit with me saying "screw your guys, I'm coming home"
Starting fluid and a match. Careful not to use too much starting fluid or itll create what i think is a vaccuum of some sort and start inflating. It happened to me and i forced cold compressed air into the tire and it reversed it. Not sure why but it worked lol. Kinda scary to be honest.
We used to do that with hand operated tire changers back in the 60's - nothing new under the Sun here. Lots of muscle and lots of dish soap. Also had portable bubble type tire balancers too with adjustable legs to level the balancer. Now I just use a squirt of naptha cuz I'm lazy.

Mawkus Wilhelm sure glad to hear it, make sure to sub for more "magic"!

Perfect; just what I needed to get an unseated trailer tire back in action without any extra helpers.
Thanks!

You Tube never disappoints. Thanks for the video!
Also if you clean the bead off and put some watered-down dish soap on the rim, it will pop into place much sooner/easier
Does that really work?
@@mkdsk101 Yes.
I was going to say to same thing
Worked great. Put some soap on the rim and filled with air. Slowly crept without adding constant pressure and finally popped into place without my hands anywhere near the tire.
Matt, thanks. I just used my newly installed ARB onboard air compressor to do this to a tire I just pushed off the bead on a trail.
Cool story bro.
Invaluable information and good demonstration.

Thanks for the video man you just helped me finish mowing my yard! That damn stump came out of nowhere…
Thanks for taking the time to post this, very good trick to know!
Thanks !! You saved my life with this one
Thanks for the tip. It helped a lot and worked well.
Worked like a charm. Thanks
This actually worked. To be fair, good advice!
Good point! I've been using this trick for a long time now and nobody seems to think of this as being an option. Does it ever damage the tire?
Worked like a charm. Thanks dude.
Great trick...really worked nicely, even on these little 5 inch wheels on a riding mower...
Exactly what I just had to do!
Thank you. Got it done with ease.
Anyone else see the balancing weight fly off the rim? lmao!
Maximum air pressure for this tire is 44PSI. There could be other things flying at 2:08
yep!
even better that wwooo . after
@@myc0p but if it is your only way to get going again the weight is the last of your issues
Tried it today........Bloody awesome !
Worked like a charm, I almost burned my tire down trying starting fluid 🤣
Pretty awesome way to do it. I like the starter fluid way even though it is dangerous and you can burn up your tire if you do it wrong.
I just reset the bread on my ram 2500 on the side of the road using this method. Thanks man
This was very helpful. Thanks.

can i use a little dish soap for lubricating the tire?
PussMag
Oil+rubber = bad. Stick with soap.
So this should pop the tire beads back in place?
Used this technique for new tires on my Honda Civic. Worked for two out of four tires but I used a crappy gas station air compressor
Perfect. Helpful and to the point
great tip but I never have any luck doing this on narrow tires. Thanks!
Fantastic technique!
You can also just seal it with wrapping microwave foil where the holes are and then pump it to bead it, I got a video on it on my channel
Thanks guys, I suck at advertising but I'll try harder!
Thanks Matt, great video!!
Good videos, I appreciate the info you share. Thanks.
blew the wheel weight off when the bead popped, any hints on how to avoid this, and most importantly hope you weren't winged by that since it could be about like a bullet flying?
Even if you keep the weight on the rim it will most likely need to be balanced as the tire has probably rotated.
Did that once - just stood the wheel up, sat on it, bounced and rolled a little and popped in and re-inflated no problemo!
Be careful, you'll put your eye out.

thanks for watching and subbing!
This just happened today while I was driving on the street.. No idea why the bead popped off. Can over inflating cause that?
Fantastic, a safe way to set a tire with out the use of flames like a lot of these tiktokers keep doing.
Thank you, you are a God.
Thanks man this helped

Great Video ! Thanks !
Can you do this with a 12v compressor?
About to try this on my e scooter (cruiser s) so if I don't come back to update? That's because it worked. Otherwise there will be an edit with me saying "screw your guys, I'm coming home"
Best one I like.
Thank you
I can't tell you how many times i have used this method.

am I the only one who thinks he sounds like a young Herbert the pervert off family guy ?
Thanks man!
Brilliant!
One person tried to teach me but never did know that I did it and it was cuz he sent me this link
Great video that's the way to do it with out blowing up the world.
Thanks
whenever the bead popped i jumped like a mofo even tho i know its comin i still jump every time something like that happens
Awesome
Nice
Keep it up!!
There goes the lead balancing weights. Put some soapy wooder in their bud

👍
I need them goggles
every video I see... step 1 you need a ratchet... step 0 I don't have one
Doesn't always work.
This is tho a great technique. Larger tires are a different story.
nice intro. hehe
NEVER do that without water or soap n water on a RIM Gilligan !
guess bead is differant than beeds, & this bead is the ring around the rim.. words✋😒
Nice....that's gotta be better than blown it up
Awesome!! Thanks for the tip! please check out mine!
