    Amazing! We were stuck on our last tire, called it a night. Next morning found an extra bike tube and it worked on the first try! I just put the tire lube paste on it and bang! Tire set! Thank you for doing this video, you were a life saver! Appreciate it!

    Thank you for this. I’d spent three fruitless hours trying to seat a difficult tyre on an alloy wheel - none of the usual tricks worked. I didn’t have a bike inner tube lying about, but managed to do it with a trailer wheel inner tube. Worked perfectly! 👏

    Thanks for the video, I was struggling with a set of tires and this worked perfectly! No finger pinch hazard, the tube popped out as it was seating.

    Carlisle ST185/80R13 trailer tire beads were very close together. Out of 4 tires, got two the usual way, but couldn't seat the last two. Tried the usual methods of moving around on the rim and restraining outside with strap - nada. Got a 16" bicycle tube and tried this method - presto! Even when the bead popped on, the lubed up tube still came out intact to use again. Saved me further aggravation. Thanks!!

      You're welcome! Thanks for watching and for the comment. I'm still using the same tube from this video years later. I've also developed a homemade bead blaster featured in my other tire videos.

      My car trailer tires were strapped tight and made mounting impossible. I used tire spreaders with blocks of wood.

    i just wanted to say thank you for saving my day, i was mounting 4 38x15.50 20's on 20x12 wheel, i did 3 of em fine with the starter fluid explosion but the 4th one would not work, i did this trick and i was done in 5 minutes, i did it with a 20 inch inner tube which was sort of tight around the 20x12 wheel but it did the job, this is a trick ill never forget

    I used this trick tonight. Work like a champ. I have a bead blaster on my machine & it wouldn’t seat the tire. This did it with regular air chuck.

    I used a 16 inch inner tube for a 15 inch wheel. And it stretched around it perfectly.

    Dude this worked great. Wasnt worth getting a bead blaster for the once every 3 yrs I need it.
    I did run a thin ratchet strap around the tibe before putting it in place. Made it much easier to pull the tube out without risking my pretty little fingers.

    I wanna try this, gotta pick up this tube asap! I’ve tried all the things you listed at the start of the video. Nothing came to work not even the ratchet straps! But hopefully this does I could see how it works to block off the air from escaping so it seats. So does the back of the tire seat on its own? Like the part facing inside the car towards suspension? I’ve wondered if I have to mess with that but it looks like you didn’t have to at all, just the face of the wheel and boom.

    They sell a ring that's rubber and looks like a tire tube but is solid to do this trick. My trailer tires had thicker side walls and none of these tricks worked, so I bought a pair of tire expanders designed to repair tires. I put blocks of wood holding tires spread out. Once I removed blocks a week later tires inflated.

    Does the inner tube need to be pumped or can it be deflated?

    • @BlakesGarage1
      @BlakesGarage1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will need a little bit of air to have some rigidity and stay in place but very little air.

    You all should look at a recappers plug also known as a quick air. You pull the valve core, thread the recapper plug on the stem, and hook the airline directly to it, most tires won't even need a Bead blaster using a recapper plug. More than likely if the core was out and the Bead blaster didn't seat it then someone didn't use the Bead blaster effectively. I've used a quick air, with the core out, and a blaster to seat tires that the beads were within an inch of touching. If you couldn't get that to seat using thick tire compound then someone doesn't know how to pack soap in against the tire and rim effectively. Lastly, your tire mounting machine is regulated usually to about 50 to 60 lbs at most. Direct airline will normally put out 125 to 150 psi. Volume is everything when trying to get the tire to seat. No need trying to lose fingers between the rim and the tire trying to fish that tube out. Just my personal opinion, when there are more safe and effective ways out there.
