This is the best tutorial on how to put your tire on the rim I've ever seen.

I learned this trick back in the late 80's to reseat a paddle tire on my dune buggy. Keep in mind this kind of tire runs on 8-10 lbs of pressure max. I had no guide on how long to spray the fluid, so I gave it a good 10 seconds of spray. Have you ever seen a flaming tire fly 40ft into the air and land ( bouncing aflame)? I have. There was 38 psi in the tire, ( I remember this event quite vividly) which I checked after stomping out the flames. Tip: pay attention to the duration of the spray you put in the tire. Of course, modern starting fluids aren't as explosive as the good 'ol ether of yesterday.

WOW! I m speechless. I do want to thank you for making this. I had been fighting with trying to reseat the bead on my tire 11/2 hours and was about to throw in the wrench and take it to a shop... your technique worked without a hitch, and you're right, you hardly need any fluid in there at all. it happened Zip Bang! Thanks again x 1,000,000!!

This is no doubt the absolute best video on seating a bead with this method. This method may seem like it's for drunken , hacky hilbillies, but this dude has perfected it and taken all of the mystery and most of the danger out of it. Still be careful obviously with the amount you spray and leaving a trail.

Had good luck w/propane. No “ fuse “. Had a couple wouldn’t stay. Made tourniquet of sorts on tread. Wrap all the way around with ratchet strap or rope and twist. Forces bead outward and keeps seated while air entering or escaping.
    Real A Team stuff. Hahahah

Gas works fine on standard car/truck tires, I do it all the time when changing rims/tires. Just don't add much gas and make sure to have something to put the little flame out before burning the actual tire

I saw this done on a TV show by people working in the arctic. Maybe it's necessary in that environment, but they were heavy handed on the fluid and set the wheel ablaze. And the tire sort of popped back into place. I think they used gasoline which might explain it.
Your demonstration showed that it need not be a dramatic task requiring much lighter fluid or other combustible fuel.

Oh boy, this brings back memories. I had to do this a couple years ago. It was interesting. I was at home so it was easier than in the bush. Still I had 16.5" rims and much larger tires so it was a somewhat dangerous operation. I opted to pull some nicrome wire out of a junk toaster and hooked it to a dumb battery charger. Placed it on the tire, sprayed the starting fluid in and then went and plugged in the battery charger. After the boom and screech I needed to fill it with air right away as I discovered that it would seat but would cool and suck the tire back in and unseat. Still, its a good think to know how to do. My only issue is, how many people actually remember to carry starting fluid with them? Not many. Gasoline may work, but I haven't tried it and don't plan to. I suppose hair spray or even propane. If you are desperate you may have to get very creative.

Lol what sucks is I'm attempting to do this right now but reasons are in reverse I'm almost dirt poor but I have to zero my rifle and have to break in a new sidearm but my two front tires on my old 86 subaru are bald with belts showing and most likely won't make it to the range without a blowout im trying to seat two new snow tires and it is definitely a learned skill 👍

You did it all wrong! You have to fill the tire with enough starting fluid that when you light it, it lifts off the ground about 30 feet, taking out anything that it comes in contact with....you ....your other drunk friend, and anyone else stupid enough to be around for the event! At least that's the way my friend taught me out at the farm in Azle Texas....good times....good times....:)
Good video guys.......it had been a while and my idiot friend did not make a trail to the tire with the fluid...a very helpful little bit of information......(BTW he is also a Bell Helicopter Engineer that worked on the Osprey.....:))

I've done this at least 40 times over the years. I remember it not working on an old camper maybe 25 years ago. The tire was like a rock. Back then I even tried an m80. lol Now as I am older Im tending to not put enough starter fluid down and looking at alternatives. I think there is a direct correlation between the testosterone your body produces and the amount of starting fluid you spray.
Decades ago I ramped up the starter fluid on a potato shooter until the entire thing blew up under my arm and put a piece of plastic in me. Age is making me a **ssy.
