    I think your talking makes this even more enjoyable since you show your thought process going into stuff like that and also seeing you struggle just shows how incredibly difficult some stuff on the drums can be but still achievable when being persistent. Excellent video!

      That’s my fav part about these videos. I want to show the real struggle with practicing things. This is as real as it gets lol and hopefully inspire people to push through because you WILL come out on top of you keep at it. Thanks for watching!!

    Always considered myself the eternal beginner because I struggle with new patterns just like you are. It is a huge boost in self esteem to see a way more proficient drummer struggle, too :D Normaly you just see the product of long dedication and practice and never the struggle during the practice itself.

    Post when you want, brother. We love you, man. This one is awesome. Love Estepario. I'm gonna show this to a student today, he gets frustrated easily. This is a great example of what it takes to learn this instrument at any level. Gott work through it until you get it and then BAM! the payoff feels great.

    Dude, you're big insparation for me as a person in general.
    I can imagine how hard is to learn such difficult patterns in one day.
    It can drain your willpower for weeks.
    I really enjoy your simple consepts. And it seems to me that you have perfect background for this: quiet and sensitive playing, lots of covers - the things that really matter)

    I really just love your Humor. Well, yes I’m playing the drums and also will get to this the next time I’m sitting on the kit. Still I’m excited every time you drop a video, even if it’s just a vlog or something. And if you drop a vlog then i don’t expect it to be a just drumming video😂.
    Just love your style of videos and the kind of the randomness in them like the one were you were playing to the ringtones. Keep it up brother! :)

    The way I manage to play this kind of polyrhythmic independence exercises (or beats) is first a listen to them over and over, then I write them down and begin to play parts of them extremely slow and then gradually add more parts and speed it all up.

The frustration is real LOL At times I feel like I'm the only one that has moments like this, especially the ebbs and flows, the love-hate relationship, inspired one minute, disengaged the next. Definitely can be discouraging and frustrating at the same time. We gotta continue to push forward and keep up the great work!!!!

    Drums, especially for me. I'll pick something new up. Practice it for about an hour, and then rest on it for a day. When I come back. I typically figure it out within 30 minutes. From there is about a week of refinement, and I got it. Just take a break. Have the balls to come back afterward. Don't let your ego keep you from succeeding.

    El Estepario Siberiano is a master of linear drumming, gospel chops and similar stuff.. I'd say that it is mandatory to spend some time on that before approaching this Bleed variation.

    If I'm 100% honest, it makes me a little happier knowing that you struggle with certain beats exactly how I do! 😅 sometimes when you elevate someone to the level of, "never gonna be able to do that myself", its nice to know you're still human! (But still a phenomenal and much better drummer than I am 😁)

    • @BrandonScottDrums

    • @BrandonScottDrums
      @BrandonScottDrums  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I feel that. If it’s one you really like then make a point to use it again the next day, and the next. It will soon become your go-to. Which can eventually become a bad thing haha it’s hard to remember a lot of things note for note. I try to understand the sticking patterns more-so which drum/cymbal I’m hitting. That helps too!

    Really good video, where it shows clistar clear the level of Estepario.... just one quest... Did you hear before the song and interiorized for long time,or new to the song? just asking because if you were new to the song it was a awesome job, but i think it will make a notorious change in the "autopilot" aspect (like you comment), because in my mind is harder to count that just hearing in my head were the snares land 👏

  • @jaybat1184
    @jaybat1184 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dude you have got to start writing it out before you play it it's easier to see where the snare lands on each count before you even try it. You have to do it perfectly slow before you can bring up the speed.
    I totally feel your frustrations though and I think this is good stuff man so I’m gonna sub cause yeah, honesty is so important and rare. Great work!
