In today's video we are dusting off my Huina 1550 excavator that has lain dormant for well over a year due to breakage. And we are hopefully going to upgrade and repair it at the same time using an unrated servo kit.

Can't see the wiring, what's the point if one can't see how to connect the wires?
Don't worry the wiring is dead easy it's pretty self explanatory. There's only two wires that go to each servo from the board, so just connect the two relevant servo wires to these board wires. Job done! If any of the controls are reversed just swap the wires round to the servo, super easy! The point was to show how the servos fit into the arm, that's the tricky bit. @@theminiatureconstructionco4556 I'm not familiar with electronics, I do as I see, so far it's working, but I have no idea what you said before. I'm dyslexic, I gotta see to understand, and even then I have to watch it at least 3 times.. not easy, but at least I don't give up. Any chance you could help with it? I cany find a video for it all over TH-cam..

Nah, it used to be somebody's though! The person gave it to me for firewood!!! And it was a solid pine table, weights a ton! To good to burn. 👍👍
thats pretty awesome. its a big improvement for it for sure. I was thinking to try using them for a bruder exc. conversion one day :)
They do have plenty of power. Now I'm worried about the plastic boom hahahaha 😅
@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 ahahahhaahaa. Time for the switches to go on. i have done it once on my track loader, it was cool and really great to learn to do.
I've done this upgrade to a huina 1592. All was pretty much the same but my main boom servo the one with the bracket doesn't work. I've checked voltage at the wires from the board and it's 8v but when I connect it to the servo wiring I get 0v. It makes the noises but no action. I'm thinking it's something to do with the limit switches but I have no idea. Would you have any idea what's going on? I've also tested the main boom servo and it works. Everything works but when I put it all together the main boom doesn't.
Thats a tough one. The 1592 is the newer version so i suppose it could be the limit switches. Have you checked that the switch is working? I did'nt bother with fitting limit switches which can be a bit of a pain occasionally. I would have thought that if the servo is working and there is obvious power going to it. It must be something breaking that circuit? Sorry i coud'nt be more help.

Would like to see an update on this, any alternatives you might recommend instead of the Huina? Or even more mods! :)
Will see what i can do. Huina do a few more excavators which are a bit more expensive but capable. Then you start paying megabucks!!!!
@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 Yeah, i like the idea of getting one, but the ones in my price point only really move sand. Would be a cool idea to dig a hole or something.... Anything practical. But for that you are talking crazy amounts of money

@@justindiaz6545 hello. Well they look similar to Huina excavators, so if they are the same then you shouldn't have a problem. They do list a different scale though to Huina. 👍
