You inspirational quote "Never underestimate the power of a woman with a sewing machine." Years ago my Mom told me she never has to worry about me, as long as I have a sewing machine.

Stopped by to get inspiration for reorganizing my sewing space. Love your channel. Love the fact that you "up cycle " 👍. I've been doing that for longer than you've been born. I had to laugh at some of the things you're calling "vintage" because I have some of the same items, or at least use too. I have some hand sewing needles from the 1800's. My granny always made the quilts from the clothes that we wore, so I guess you can say she "up-cycled" also, but hers was from necessity. It was alway nice to sleep under those memories. Currently I've been playing around with machine embroidery, love adding designs to my jean pockets! I'm gonna have to check out your other videos. Stay safe.

You did It! You got yourself all organized. I had asked about a tour of your sewing space and you did inform me that you hope to one day get it together. I was shocked when you told me that you right by the front door where hubby use to video you modeling your finished products. Now with this tour, I kind of get the mapping of your situation. I really like what you did. I see that you put your eldest son behind the camera and he did really well, considering that he also was carrying the tripod around with the camera attached. That was a nice tour of the two rooms you work in and you have everything well organized too. I use an extra bedroom to put my sewing gear in and also keep my knife collection and some firearms in there also. I use another bedroom as my office and since I am a beginner in sewing only have one Singer sewing machine in my work room and will have to make room for my grandmother's old machine which is now in my old house.

The foot that you called a walking foot is actually a Vintage Singer ruffler, because it makes ruffles (and/or pleats), you should try it, you would love it as you often do ruffles :). If you youtubed vintage Singers you'd be amazed at what they can do with the different feet to get fabric effects. It would give you a whole new area to get into... :)

I have a big room I am setting up an art studio and now I am thinking my sewing room needs to be in a different room than my art room. Also I appreciate the videos about sewing machines. I have a couple. One old computerized lightweight machine good for embroidery. And a Singer with limited stitches but was told it has metal body parts which they said some newer Singers actually have plastic parts ?? I think I want to buy one of the ones you demonstrated to sew through jean material and leather. So glad to find your videos followed someone a long time ago that you remind me of with the upcycling and used to watch Mimi. Not sure if she is still around. My son wants to design sturdy clothes now and is talking about going to clothing design school. I am glad to get my stuff organized the way I want and also so he can access anything he wants when he visits. Also glad you said it has taken you 7 or 8 years because I am feeling overwhelmed. First off girl I Love Ikea !!!! You have hit all points that make a sewing room that works.... Like you said you need the space to work and be able leave it and get right to it. Drawers and shelves...yep !! That stool is the best, it's nice that you have them hard wood floors. Dress forms and all that. Completely Professional....Looks so good. p.s. I save all the hardware/belts zippers etc. Hey I like your hair ties trick to keep the bobbin and thread together. And let's not get started on buttons. Take care and God bless. L. in Maine

Thanks so much!! 😁 It's so funny how I really wanted a space that looked like it was curated over time. I didn't even realize how much great stuff I've accumulated over the years.

Hi! Angelina. Like you, I love to sew and do up cycling. I wonder how you keep your sewing area tidy and organize. You know how messy it can get with all the cuttings and stuff. Thanks!

I got a sewing question I have a computerized brother sewing machine is it necessary for me to use my brothers brand needle Instead of a singer needle? Does it really matter? It seems all sewing needles are made the same. Btw I love your setup. 😍

You should be able to use any brand needles. 👍🏽

When you go to Ikea you always go into what department?
To disguise cords I paint them the same color as the wall, or ceiling in your case; it helps a lot.

I always go in the "As Is" department. It's normally on the first floor as you approach the check out lines. They have floor model items for cheaper than full price. Painting the cords is a great tip!
