Here's what I think is going to happen in the sequel (Partially based off of fan theories and speculation based on those theories). Tails is coming to earth because the Echidnas are up to something on Mobius, and Tails knows he'll need Sonic's help in order to stop them. What exactly are the Echidnas up to, you might ask? Well, I get the feeling that they're going after a certain set of colored stones, and they may or may not have ticked off the guardian of said stones. Now the creature is rampaging through Mobius, and Tails realizes Sonic is one of the few people who can stop it. Meanwhile, the Echidnas send out one of their best warriors to find Sonic and Tails. The name of this warrior... is Knuckles. What do you guys think?

I think they could also switch up the thing with robotnik tricking knuckles about the master emerald to robotnik tricking him about sonic saying that he wants to use his powers to take over the world and that’s why the tribe was after his power or something like that.
I feel like Jim Carrey's Eggman could've had more Eggman lines. Going along with your "Robotnik getting mad at being called 'Eggman'" Robotnik: Rodent, if you call me 'Eggman' one more time... Sonic: What's the matter, Eggman? Can't handle a little name calling? Robotnik: Alright, you cocky needlemouse, get a load of this. *Launches missiles.*
My favourite part was this exchange between Eggman and Tom: Dr Eggman: I was spitting out formulas when you were drinking in formula. Tom: I was breastfed, actually. Dr Eggman: Nice, rub it in my orphan face. Also, I think Longclaw was very basic. In fact, I feel like it would've been great if she taught Sonic his happy dance (The one before it was replaced by the floss) and the reason Sonic would've done it because it was one of the last things he could had to feel like Longclaw was with him. Remove the floss as well.
Flossing actually fits his story. Remember he spent years all by himself, watching the humans (kids included) have fun with each other and he tries to be like them.
Longclaw died(or supposedly died) really early in the movie. I'm pretty sure half 5 he people who watched the movie forgot Longclaw even existed by the end of it. It was just like Longclaw: Hey I'm Longclaw sonic's mother Echindnas': That's cool now die Longclaw: *oof*
The movie needed to cover some of the plotholes Like, if Sonic can move so fast that bullets and missiles fired at point blank move at a snail's pace, why doesn't he just run up the side of the building that his rings are on?Or run to San Francisco with a map? The theory is that he wanted to spend more time with Tom, but its never mentioned in the movie or even hinted in the movie. Another thing they could have done was make it so that Sonic can go fast, but only in short bursts before he gets tired amd collapses, actually limiting him amd giving Tom a reason to drive him around. It would make sense cause Sonic is basically still a teenager here with underdeveloped stamina. The prologue also needed more time, it just doesn't git very hard cause Longclaw is in the movie for like 2 minutes if even that
Personally, there isn't anything I'd really "change". I'd just add stuff. Like some music from the games and a few names here or there. Like, I was lowkey hoping that Stone's first name was Snively, or that somebody would give it to him as a nickname, but meh.
Persian Slashuur, but I think that would a bit weird, quite a few people ship Stone and Robotnik, and considering Snivley was his nephew, I think that would confuse a lot of people
If I were to change the movie for a bit (editing-wise), that's what I would do: • Remove the "guess how I got into this situation" scene at the start, and start straight at Green Hill. • Replace the first flossing scene with the one seen in the trailers. Edit out the second one entirely. • Cut the Olive garden scene in the end a bit short. • Add a city escape music reference in the San Francisco chase scene, mostly because I think it'll be fun. Add maybe even more music easter eggs all throughout (Eggman's theme at the end credits scene, green hill in the baseball scene, dragon road in the wall of China, -tails themeinyouknowwhen- etc.) Otherwise I like your suggestions for the story.
Sequal theory: -Starts off in green hills (town) -Tails warns Sonic of a creature (Maybe echidna tribe) -Half of the movie is in Sonic's island -They find Longclaw (We never actually see her die) -Robotnik comes back -team up with echidna tribe (One of which is knuckles) -They go get Tom and Maddie -Fucking rip out the heart of Robotnik (Who's like 350 from eating so many mushrooms) *END*

The general who's strongly against calling on Robotnik alludes to the whole family being bad eggs. He mentions Ivo's grandfather, but the head of the committee brushes it aside, saying the Ark Incident was a long time ago. Don't go any further with it, just throw it out there for fans to catch and leave some avenues open for sequels.
That's a great idea. I love it. I have similar thoughts on how the movies could do Robotniks family. Robotnik is a real Eastern European name. I have a theory that Gerald Robotnik was a Soviet defector and Cold War paranoia played a key role in why G.U.N turned against him and tried to destroy Project Shadow. What do you think?

It's doubtful any reference to Soviets or the Cold War would ever make it into a Sonic script (it's a family movie aiming for international markets, after all), but that's still a great thought for a writer to have in the back of their mind so the internal logic of the military's actions rings true.

I think there should have been an dichotomy relationship between Sonic and Robotnik, light nods to the Echidna tribe and a little more character development with Sonic and Longclaw. (hope Ken Penders is okay and not foaming at the mouth over the echidnas being in the movie. Which shouldn't be a problem but I'm expecting it. )
Personally, I dont really see many faults with the movie (post-redesign) but there were some spots where they could've used a super dope line but they missed their chance. Other then that, I'm super hyped for the second movie to come out! Also, Garrulous, I've started working on storyboarding some of your videos! All I ask is that I get credited, ok?

I'm so glad you guys talked about leitmotifs! I took a listen to the official movie sound track orchestra bits and I tend to agree with you. The score really didn't set up any melodies or themes you could pick out and say "that's iconic". What would Pirates of the Caribbean, or Indiana Jones, or LOTR, or Titanic be like with only incidental scoring? Less epic I say!
Apparently, the composer wanted to use the Green Hill Zone theme as a reoccurring leitmotif throughout the soundtrack. This unfortunately couldn't be done due to legal reasons.

Eggman: "I actually have a granddaughter, thank you very much." Sonic: " wait. How old is this guy?" Eggman: "a lot older than you think. I've been experimenting on lots of things..."
The three changes I would make in a rerelease are: 1.polishing both baby sonic and longclaw's designs 2.getting sonic music in most of the scenes 3.reshooting to replace the quill with the cyan chaos emerald!
What if during the movie sonic accidentally transported him and robotnic to green hill zone and robotnic reveals a wrecking ball and they would fight through out sonic’s world to show off more of it while also having a reference to the original sonic. Also I would have liked a joke that sonic only knows the fortnite dance cause he saw a toddler do it and he liked it(at least that’s my head canon). Here's what I would do, replace the portal rings with a chaos Emerald that would summon portal ring, and have eggman find a chaos Emerald on the mushroom planet.
"what I would change about it"? Uhhhh, probably everything. I LOVED the movie but it isn't at all the movie I woulda made and I think that's why I like it so much. It's everything I didn't want it to be but they pulled it off anyway.
My theory for the premise of the sequel: Tails was found by an echidna family and is part of the tribe. He's got a good heart, but the fact that he is a) a fox, not an echidna and b) has two tails has made it so he tries way to hard to prove that he's part of the tribe. This leads to him using his intellect in a very manipulative way to get himself ahead (he doesn't do it to hurt others intentionally, he does it when he seems it "harmless"). Because of this, he managed to talk the Guardian of the Master Emerald into taking him as an apprentice- even though the Guardian already has one: Knuckles. Therefore we have a strong rivalry between these two, with Knuckles feeling like Tails stole his right (the echidna calls him "Tails" though the fox still goes by "Miles"), and Tails trying to prove that he's better than Knuckles to validate the fox's insecurities. That's the background- the plot starts when the Guardian tells Knuckles and Tails that they have a test that only one can win. The winner will continue to be the apprentice Guardian until the current Guardian retires or dies, and the loser will be a high-ranking military official. The test is to find a blue hedgehog that has the power of unimaginable speed and bring him to the Chief. It won't be the person who finds him that will win. It will be the one who makes it to the tribe with him. Thus, Knuckles and Tails set off.

The biggest thing I would've added was more time with baby Sonic, on his planet and a bit when he arrived on earth. You basically nailed it.

Here's what I would do, replace the portal rings with a chaos Emerald that would summon portal ring, and have eggman find a chaos Emerald on the mushroom planet.
I was hoping that the quail was going to be used to make metal sonic but hopefully he can show up in the next movie

I’m not a big fan on how they portrayed the echidna tribe. Sonic has had little to no contact with them in the games.
It's a different canon, he indeed never interacted with them in the games
My theory for the premise of the sequel:
Tails was found by an echidna family and is part of the tribe. He's got a good heart, but the fact that he is a) a fox, not an echidna and b) has two tails has made it so he tries way to hard to prove that he's part of the tribe. This leads to him using his intellect in a very manipulative way to get himself ahead (he doesn't do it to hurt others intentionally, he does it when he seems it "harmless").
Because of this, he managed to talk the Guardian of the Master Emerald into taking him as an apprentice- even though the Guardian already has one: Knuckles. Therefore we have a strong rivalry between these two, with Knuckles feeling like Tails stole his right (the echidna calls him "Tails" though the fox still goes by "Miles"), and Tails trying to prove that he's better than Knuckles to validate the fox's insecurities.
That's the background- the plot starts when the Guardian tells Knuckles and Tails that they have a test that only one can win. The winner will continue to be the apprentice Guardian until the current Guardian retires or dies, and the loser will be a high-ranking military official. The test is to find a blue hedgehog that has the power of unimaginable speed and bring him to the Chief. It won't be the person who finds him that will win. It will be the one who makes it to the tribe with him.
Thus, Knuckles and Tails set off.

I saw the film and I thought it was great 8/10 the car chase was awsome wasn't a fan of the dramatic moments though I caught so many reference,s not all of them though

Alright! If you're gonna rewrite the Sonic Movie then could you rewrite The Sonic The Hedgehog IDW comics? They're already great, but being that you made Forces's story the GREATEST rewrite. Although they do have 33, going on 34 comics.
