All e39's are very solid cars in general. Very well built and put together without overall bulkiness and overweight problems or quality control issues of recycled parts materials like contemporary cars. An old school BMW classic if there ever was one. A mechanical experience in a good way I'd say. And that goes for pretty much all of the more powerful BMW's from the turn of the century.

My brother works for a very wealthy guy who ownes a massive collection of BMWs that is droolingly impressive. So impressive that Jay Lenno visited his place. He keeps 2 mechanics on full time (one I'd my brother) to maintain his collection. I don't know how many cars he has but it's got to be 150+. Talk about a dream job. Good for my little bro who grew up loving cars. The guy races a road circuit, thus lil bro gets to travel around with them to the tracks and work in the pits. BTW, my first car, a 1976 BMW 2002 that my dad restored. Loved that car.

I don't believe when you turned off DSC that you fully turned off your traction control.. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you hold it for several seconds shouldn't an additional warning light come on like in e46 BMWs?

Why is manual linked to "car guys" in America? In the uk almost everyone learn and pass their driving test on a manual and then some buy automatics but manual is a casual thing.
becuz for the longest american ppl were considered the ones who cant drive manual and in recent years other countries have strayed away from manual trannys but america still is gun hoe about them

The_Glove_Reviewer no its not. It's an e-gear. It does not shift at all unless you hit the paddle. Automatics will do all the shifting for you.
The torque on the throttle response is enormous, it's very sensitive. The steering wheel is nice and fat it turns very easily. It's a proper built car and very stable. It doesn't need much effort on the pedal to get you moving. The position on the seat is fantastic. The V8 sounds amazing, but the car is fucking heavy on fuel you don't miss any garages haha!! It's a huge mesh. I don't want to speed just drive for the joy of it. I don't like to fuck cars up so I drive them slowly. To me it's about the luxury and the power to over take when you need it. That's about it. I'll make a mesh for people who could never afford it, take them for a spin.
I love the POV and thet you talk at the same time just the silent POV's are kinda boring :D
get a brembo brake upgrade for like $1700, there's a few threads on the bmw forums about using brembo 17z calipers off a porsche cayenne and e60 535i rotors, among other bits and bobs. It's a 6 piston front 4 piston rear brembo setup for $1700, not bad at all.
also the VF superchager kit for $6000, should pump up your power and torque quite a bit, into the 500s at least
Changing the brakes is a good idea, but i think he wants to keep the m5 engine stock

that's reasonable, the VF adds power but it can make the powerband weird because most of the extra power is at the top end, changes the nature of the V8
+Ryukachoo well ess and rk both also make superchargers, and actually they provide a smooth power curv much like oem, just alot faster
Don't forget to change them timing chain guides.

+Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen It is way more fun then an automatic! 2.8L manual Bmw z3 roadster always brings a smile to my face even at low speeds, i believe that is the only benefit that is trully important😁😁😁
Driving a manual is less convenient and a little harder. However, (in my opinion) it makes you a better driver. You're more able to pay attention to your surroundings once you drive an automatic because you're used to focusing on so much more. It made me a better driver by a lot.
