Kurtis and Karen your channel is one of the channels my mum and dad watch together every week. I have no idea how you two got mum to watch and injoy Engineering videos 😂😂
They do have a merch shop, they just do not push it ever, I think I have only heard about it on their Christmas episodes when they give channel updates. They're great!
Have you ever watched "Jeremy Makes Things"? He's got a basic home shop with pretty old machines rather than heavy engineering business like CEE, but he's made stuff out of the rustiest bits of scrap metal you could ever imagine, even bits of metal he found in a river!
I am mesmerized by your expertise, the scale of the machinery and the knowledge of what looks possessed by a relatively young man. This has become one of my “go to” channels when I just want to relax and watch the definition of competence.
I've noticed before but this video really showed it. Watch how Kurtis is ALWAYS careful and deliberate with his tools and parts. Sure, everybody drops stuff sometimes, but he never throws or tosses things in the shop. Each motion is deliberate.
I hope you guys know just how far some of your audience appreciate, enjoy and can’t wait for each new episode. I’m into my early 30s and have unfortunately become somewhat isolated. From once looking forward to going out with friends on a Friday night my enjoyment now lies in waiting to see what new video you have uploaded. For some, you are fulfilling lives and maybe dreams. Kudos
I know maggies can sometimes be a bit demanding, but I really appreciate you feeding them! Kindness is so rare in the animal world - just kindness and generosity for its own sake. It's such a gift for any animal to experience that! Hope they don't annoy you too much :)
It is easy to see how pleased your customers are with your work - since they come back time and time again to get their junk turned into a part that meets manufacturers specifications. That Sunnen machine is awesome!!! Obviously, Karen did a SUPER job capturing all of the varied steps in completing this unit to it's final, presentable stage!!! And, of course, THE SAFETY OFFICER keeping everything within view to ensure all went home without making the trip via the Medical Center. LOL Another fine job enjoyed by all of us!!! Keep up the fantastic adventures of Kurtis, Karen, Homey and the Butcher Family. You are all so wonderful!!!! As my previous life included 24 years riding Submarines, you would all fit in perfectly with those chaps.
Midnight? Bedtime? Nope another CEE video to watch. Cheers from WA state USA. Picking up a pair of old atlas hobby lathes after work today. My pocketbook thanks you for the inspiration to finally clear space in my shop and pick up a lathe or two. Keep up the good work.
Oregonian neighbor, always look forward to a CEE video. Upgraded to a bigger lathe at the beginning of summer. I don't do hydraulic cylinders, but watching the videos has significantly improved my abilities. Cheers.
Another fine example of Kurtis giving these projects what for! Still fascinated by the work you do with the ethic you portray. Incredible! Karen, you are still amazing! Oh, and the camera work is good too! LOL! Continue on your path with purpose and honesty, and may all the GOOD stuff keep coming your way! 👍👍👍

Hi Kurtis and Karen, Great video once again. I'm a retired Structural Engineer and I look forward to your weekly videos. I spent most of my career, whilst not on site, drinking coffee in a cosey office, using my only tools of the trade: a pencil, computer and an HP calculator! I find the videos beautiful to watch and very educational, in fact I've learned an awful lot from just watching you work, thanks to Karen's excellent video production skills. Love your dog, Homeless, and his pets the Butcher Birds! You're a great team - keep it up!
You read my mind! I was wondering when we would see the new honing machine in action. Last time I was questioning the torch lighting technique in my mind then boom you answered it on the next episode. You are a wealth of knowledge . And don’t forget the camera lady, she is top notch . Kurtis - I have been watching you since you were about 35k subscribers. Every week, you turn out stellar work. I admire your hard work, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. For lack of a better phrase, you basically put on a master class. Also, Karen - producing a 25-40 min video every week and keep it as good as you do, you are every bit as good if not better than the producers in Hollywood. In fact, I think you, Kurtis, and Homie ought to produce your own superhero franchise. There's no way that Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman could do what you three do on a weekly basis. Thanks for all you guys do!
Greetings from Texas. I'm not a machinist at ALL, but for some reason I cannot stop watching these awesome videos. This is art! Thanks for posting this great content.
The butcherbirds make sure there are no spiders lurking up in the corners or in the roof beams. Its a big workshop and we never see Kurtis using the magnetic floor sweeper or the magnetic swarf collecting wand. Possibly, while the cutting tool gets from one end to the other of a 3 meter long barrel he does a quick cleanup with one ear cocked for any change in the sound of the tool. I guess he learned long ago that if you sweep up as you go the cleaning never gets on top of you.
I am always impressed with the additional steps you take. The work you did here is in keeping with the level of quality you provide. The side shots of the birds you both have befriended as well as Homey is an added bonus to your channel. Excellent work, well done.
I always appreciate how you don’t add b/g music to your videos, I’m far more interested in the ambient sounds of your workplace. Excellent work as usual. Thanks.

Well you’ve answered my question on center drilling and it makes perfect sense and is very logical. I never gave it much thought about the removal and clean-up and such. Nice trick on the parting off: putting the tail stock chuck inboard of the point of cutting. I'll have to try to remember that one. Great work and great video - as always.
And delivery service too! Loved watching that honing machine in action and seeing those stones get ground down. What a machine! Kurtiss, you are really impressive, bro! Great video, Karen!
Double birds early at 02:52! i love it how they come into workshop practically as if it was their home. I'm a grown-ass man and get happy when i see fascinating birds. Although nearly every animal in Australia is deadly, you also for sure got the coolest birds.
I love the way you say: it is a lot of work - the rest of us are watching and saying it has a “massive” amount of work. Excellent result and thank you for sharing.
The honing turned out beautifully. Was good to see the Sunnen put to work. Was kind of mesmerizing seeing the stones move back and forth in the oil like that, lol.
Kurtis and Karen, y’all both do such a great job making these videos. I look forward to them all the time. I absolutely love your dog, and the fact that y’all care about the wildlife around you. Greetings from North Carolina U.S.A. Keep up the fantastic work.
Great to see the Sunnen at work, that really is an impressive piece of kit. Thank you giggler for all your hard work doing these videos, great work once again Kurtis and a great big WOOF to Homie.
Kurtis I’m just awestruck at the level of craftsmanship you have where and how you got the knowledge to do the things you do is amazing. I’d like you to tell your story of how you got to be so good at what you do.
I appreciate how delicate you are with your equipment. These machine are big and all the parts you work on are heavy, but you still close covers softly and smoothly push things around. Nothing is slammed or beaten on. Great videos too. 😊

Karen confirmed today that she is indeed a true Disney Princess. That is, on top of being an excellent camera operator, a great video editor, a very good script writer, a... Dunno, I think the list is too long. Regardless, a great way to start Friday! Greetings from Romania!🇷🇴 ✌️
I have zero skill in this arena but would love to spend a day just following him around and watching him machine stuff. This is a great channel. So impressive. All the huge expensive machines in this place. Very very cool.
Oh geez, I'm so boring, but that is just artwork and ole Kurtis is a master of metal artistry! And Karen is a master of images telling a story. Homeless is just a big ole huggable brat! I so enjoy your videos! Have fun!
I know that this channels is more about the business than being purely for entertainment, but I would love to see the two of you reverse roles for a video. If you ever have the time, I think it would be fun to see Karen do some machining, and Kurtis do all of the video work and editing.
Kurtis!!! Finally a tie down professional!!!! About fell out of my chair laughing! Thank you for being a great TH-camr with great technical skills and an excellent sense of humour!
Hey guys, greetings from Hereford, England. I'm not sure why, but I'm fascinated with your vids. I'm not an engineer, fabricator, welder, etc, but each one of your vids is compulsory viewing for me. At the moment, I'm unable to work due to illness, but your episodes are as much a therapy for me as my bloody chemo. To be honest, having first seen your channel a couple of days ago, I've done little else but watch Kurtis carry out some amazing work and enjoy excellent camera work and editing. People love to watch others who excel at their chosen profession or skill. With the both of you, and not forgetting Homey, we get to enjoy real ability that is superbly put together and presented. I've watched around 15 to 20 episodes so far, so there's plenty to catch up with. 😁😉👍🏻. Be safe. Have fun. God bless.
I don't know about anyone else but every time I watch one of your videos I feel like you are talking directly to me and not millions of people. I don't think you realize just how good you both are at this. I have to say that I love it when we hear both yours and Karen's banter in the outtakes her laugh that I have heard in previous videos is just great and you can tell that you are just great for each other and feed off of one another.
Was wondering when you were going to bust out the honing machine 😁. This is really cool, wouldn't mind seeing more of it. I bet it's a huge relief not to have to rely on anyone else to hone your barrels. Looks like it could handle 95% of the all the barrels you'd ever come across! Cheers, another awesome video 👏
I've been watching for a while now. Honing is definitely cool to watch in a timelapse way such as shown in this video. It's so oily, It's like metalwork p*rn. @@CuttingEdgeEngineering
@@CuttingEdgeEngineering What you find exciting vs what we find exciting are probably a bit different. I think as a fan we enjoy almost all the work stuff you do. " boring " or not :P I know you have mentioned you try not to repeat videos, but I also dont think any of us would mind there either. Thanks for all the content regardless. :)
This is an exceptional exemplar of what can be an enlightening and enthralling TH-cam presentation. I am profoundly grateful for your generosity in sharing this with us.❤❤
I’m Stolo, from the Shx’wow’hamel tribe in the Fraser valley of Hope B.C. Which is our traditional Stolo territory.🦅 Love watching how you work with your many different machines. I am a retired carpenter with a workshop now with a wood lathe table saw join planner, various other electrical tools, and yours are even👁️ better👍🏽
The envy my shoulders felt watching you programme a 60° cross hatch and sending it on its way. Having only ever had a vertical manual hone its an acquired skill learning the timing for different hatching but you definitely know when youve done 20 cylinder liners in a day.
It's amazing to think that that one carbide cutting edge took off all of that steel from the OD. If it's 385 diameter and 1300 long that's almost 25 kg of steel with an insert that weighs a few grams. The magbase chip deflector is magic, too. We live in an age of marvels: Carbide and ceramic inserts, Kurtis and Karen
I think the thing I love about this channel is that it's basically just a dude spending his entire day playing around with industrial LEGO, solving puzzles, and goofing off with his best friend / wife.
Really interesting to watch the boring machine at work. Love the Magpies and Homeless always makes me laugh a lot. Well done as always. I look forward to your videos every Friday. Never stop please.
That sure was a lot of work and very technical to match the original specifications exactly. But it saved the customer a fortune while bringing in income for the business. A win-win situation.
True true... but i bet they are already swamped... you can imagine the time it takes just to make 1 video considering its an actual every day runninh business with tons if orders
Top job kurtis, after you finish a job it would be hard to explain what the job description is because you have put 99.9% concentration into your precise machining (mistakes costly). That's why the bloopers 😂 are pearlers😂. Karen's filming is exceptional as always 👌👍🌹. Homeys so clever, can see his natural instincts click in , moving his comfy bed under the bench with his toy 🐾. Butcher birds hangen for a feed😂. New honing machine awesome to see in action.👍👌🙏🐾

Kurtis I’m just awestruck at the level of craftsmanship you have where and how you got the knowledge to do the things you do is amazing.
I’d like you to tell your story of how you got to be so good at what you do.
Another Lovely video, showing both Kurtis's skills & Karen's fantastic filming & editing. Of course not forgetting Homey & the birds.
I appreciate how delicate you are with your equipment. These machine are big and all the parts you work on are heavy, but you still close covers softly and smoothly push things around. Nothing is slammed or beaten on. Great videos too. 😊
*Cutting Edge Engineering Australia* Bravo well done, always a pleasure to watch. Thank-you for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.
Glad you enjoyed it
01:15 Right away a lesson..pressure distributed over surface area. 06:00 Brave cuts, more confidence in figures than I possess. 8:47 tangential contact for critical surfaces👍🏻 10:58 Just by frequency and chipa change to best cutting speed. 15:50 What a sweet machine🤤 16:54 precision horizontal honing🤤24:30 A nuisance and a blessing😊. A 60 degree fine crosshatch to ensure even wear👍🏻 Honed, faced, after fitting, precisely new critical masses to a structure that failed under durees of operation. ..and placed on a pallet for the customer as it arrived🫡
such a treat to see the new honing machine in use!
Why do I find the lifting straps jumping on to the fork lift forks so satisfying ? Always makes me smile 😊. Great job you guys 👍🏻
Thank's as always team for another BRILLIANT production from 'Cutting Edge Engineering And Wildlife Park' 😄
Always, as does everyone, enjoy the show.
Cheers
Pete' N.Z with the Friday night beer 👍
I love the after-edits. The bloopers are glorious. And so is good boi!
Ahh, this is just what I needed after a busy day in the shop. Cup of tea and a new CEE video. Life is good 🙂
Oh geez, I'm so boring, but that is just artwork and ole Kurtis is a master of metal artistry! And Karen is a master of images telling a story. Homeless is just a big ole huggable brat! I so enjoy your videos! Have fun!
I know that this channels is more about the business than being purely for entertainment, but I would love to see the two of you reverse roles for a video. If you ever have the time, I think it would be fun to see Karen do some machining, and Kurtis do all of the video work and editing.
we've got that on the video ideas list!
The outtakes will be interesting!
@@theoldstationhand Yeh, listening to all the Ps and Qs coming from Karen would be something different.
@@CuttingEdgeEngineering I feel like your audience will double for that video, I love the idea!
Oh I have got to see that! Great idea
Be safe. Have fun. God bless.
Who doesn’t wanna be like this man. I just discovered this guy, watched couple of his videos and he does seem to know his stuff.
Another great "repair" and video showing off the capabilities and workmanship of CCE 👌👍
Cheers, another awesome video 👏
hey mate we personally find honing not very exciting so won't show it too often, glad you enjoy it!
I've been watching for a while now. Honing is definitely cool to watch in a timelapse way such as shown in this video. It's so oily, It's like metalwork p*rn.
@@CuttingEdgeEngineering
Imagine the cost of the honing stones if the barrel was twice, 3 times the length.
@@CuttingEdgeEngineering Guesstimate of the time it took for this one, +1mm??
@@CuttingEdgeEngineering What you find exciting vs what we find exciting are probably a bit different. I think as a fan we enjoy almost all the work stuff you do. " boring " or not :P I know you have mentioned you try not to repeat videos, but I also dont think any of us would mind there either. Thanks for all the content regardless. :)
This is an exceptional exemplar of what can be an enlightening and enthralling TH-cam presentation. I am profoundly grateful for your generosity in sharing this with us.❤❤
Comme toujours un régal de suivre ce travail!!
I’m Stolo, from the Shx’wow’hamel tribe in the Fraser valley of Hope B.C. Which is our traditional Stolo territory.🦅
Love watching how you work with your many different machines. I am a retired carpenter with a workshop now with a wood lathe table saw join planner, various other electrical tools, and yours are even👁️ better👍🏽
What an operation Cutting Edge Engineering is !!!! So good to see you now six.
Great to see the new machine running. Safety officer seems to like his new toy. Good video guys
Truly enjoy your attention to detail man, keep up the fantastic work!!
Great work Kurtis !
Karen really becomes a pro for filming ! Technically and the way she do it, it's perfect to see your work !
A masterclass Kurtis. Great pleasure to watch!!
The finger flip with the ratchet strap is PERFECT!! Hahaha,, You are part of the trucker brotherhood Kurtis!
Cheers from Florida.
That hone is magnificent! Excellent video production as always...top notch!
That sure was a lot of work and very technical to match the original specifications exactly. But it saved the customer a fortune while bringing in income for the business. A win-win situation.
Wow that's was quite the job . Most interesting to see the machining that goes in to it . Great video .
Excellent that you can do the in house honing...not having to send jobs out, outstanding!
Great episode....your weather looks terrific.
Another quality product from CEE - Ship it! Many thanks as always K, K & H.
I love seeing your videos every Friday. It’s like having fun friends over once a week! Thank you!
The swarf shield reminds of M16A2 brass deflectors. Both serve the same purpose.
its easier to do a complicated job than to explain whats what in your bloopers it seems.love your work.
I love your show. I'm a machinist also. I build printing machines. 30 years.
what could be better than watching your new video on my birthday at 35! Thank you!
Amazing work as always kurtis your skill set is amazing
Buenos días, disfruto mucho todos sus videos, felicidades. Saludos desde México.
Kurtis another great job as always, Karen is a saint.
The sequel, hell yeah🤩 A perfect repair as always, thanks for sharing✌!
Thanks for watching!
That Honer is an impressive piece of kit; I love the machinery Kurtis uses!
I’d love to see some of the pieces that you have repaired actually fitted back onto the machinery. Would this be possible? Keep up the great work!
True true... but i bet they are already swamped... you can imagine the time it takes just to make 1 video considering its an actual every day runninh business with tons if orders
That's a great bit of maching there Kurtis .
Licking the honing machine gets it down to the correct diameter.
Gets through the stones quickly.
👍👍👍👍
Top job kurtis, after you finish a job it would be hard to explain what the job description is because you have put 99.9% concentration into your precise machining (mistakes costly). That's why the bloopers 😂 are pearlers😂. Karen's filming is exceptional as always 👌👍🌹. Homeys so clever, can see his natural instincts click in , moving his comfy bed under the bench with his toy 🐾. Butcher birds hangen for a feed😂. New honing machine awesome to see in action.👍👌🙏🐾
hey Geroge, its awesome that you got thoose feral humans to feed you from their hands and i like that you share them with bruce
