That plate material was HARD 😅 it definitely gave our tooling a run for it's money 💪From a rusty grader part to a shiny useable one, it's always great to repurpose something so it can be put back to use! 😄👊

    Outstanding video.
I thought the 'horses for courses' process of changing inserts as the characteristics of the material changed was enlightening.
I also appreciated the work Karen did with the split screen of the 'centering on the mill' process. Watching the table movement and the edge finder and then the actual key strokes on the DRO was very educational. Yes, we've all read about what to do, and many have actually done it, but for those of us just getting start, a true learning experience. The "here is what I am thinking, here are the key strokes so I have the information I need" is what makes these videos a level above the rest.
    Thanks

So, thanks to Karen for taking the time to shoot and edit these videos. The artful speeding up through the repetitious bits is greatly appreciated and keeps the videos interesting. Thank You!

I have a Fiat Panda 1.3 diesel (basically the same mechanical and suspension as the Fiat 500. It was bought (cheap) with a damaged engine. I took out the whole lump so I could work on the bench. Gearbox off, engine sorted but I could not get the gearbox to line up. It’s on the bench how hard can it be? Took it apart then noticed the (obviously low miles) clutch plate rattled. WTF?
The riveted flex plate was falling apart. I bought a new diesel spec clutch. It was obviously much tougher built. The engine had the wrong clutch. Probably 1.4 petrol spec. That snag saved me a destroyed clutch a few miles down the road.
