What is really nice is that I don't have to watch 15 minutes of explaining the setup and truing, and then closeups of the micrometer showing that you are within 0.0002 of your target. Other Machinist channels could learn a lot about how to present videos by watching your channel. Yours is the best - by far.

You guys are pretty much magicians to me. I have been fascinated by metal working since i was a boy. My uncle was aboard the USS Lexington CV-2 during WW2. He was an engineer/ engine-man I felt I was so blest to have him still around and of my many talks with him he used to tell me when something broke we did bot have the ability to pull into a parts store and retrieve another. No we either fixed the broken piece or we made another. He was amazing on a lathe. I would sit mesmerized as I do you guys. Taking a rusted piece of steel and turn it into whatever you wanted or needed. Good job! A joy to watch you work

Having now watched a goodly number of your videos it never ceases to amaze me how, whatever the piece of equipment, you know where to position the strop on the overhead gantry hoist. Likewise, when setting up a piece in the four jaw chuck, just a tap or two to bring it back to an acceptable runout. Not something that can be taught but is learnt through experience. 👍
