It’s 2am in Texas I have a meeting at 7am n should sleep But it’s day time In the other hemisphere’s Texas so I’m going to watch this 30 min video on something I’ll never do in my life
This is an industry a world apart from me and our paths will likely never cross, but there is something strangely satisfying about watching these video’s. It’s like watching an artist paint something you have never seen before.
Its easier than it looks. His lathe looks like it has auto shut off at the end of the thread so that makes that bit easier, normally you'd have to be pretty quick on the stop button or lever, digital readouts also make life easier, I've done a little bit of threadcutting on a lathe, good skill to learn. We did 95% of our work on the CNC lathe though, that shit was beyond me, CNC computers confuse the shit out of me
once you get the hang of it its not too hard. Basically, you using some method to connect the spindle to the movement of the caridge, for example in this video he cut a 12TPI thread so for every one turn of the spindle of the lathe, the threading system on the lathe moves the caridge 1/12 of an inch. You use a form tool to get the right thread shape
I’m amazed at what CNC can do. I’m even more amazed at how ridiculously complicated the software is. It’s a computer FFS - software should not make jobs more complicated than they already are.

Either expensive or will take too long to get the replacement part. Sometimes both of those is a major showstopper. Oh there is a third, which is where the part is no longer available for whatever reason.
The bolt holds the piston to the piston rod so it was always inside the cylinder. It just came lose and made a mess out of the piston when they tried closing it.

One can consistently identify a craftsman when they observe that said person makes the work appear easy and effortless.
Curtis, you are a craftsman of epic knowledge. I wouldn't have a scooby as to how to do any of what you do and should I ever visit you and your lady, all I could do, all the day long, would be to watch your work your amazing magic.
Kurtis I’m leaving the US and coming to work for you. No pay needed, just let me pet the doggo and tolerate my terribly done Aussie impersonations.
He makes it look easy, but, skills don't come easy, or fast.
got room in your luggage for me?
You'd probably end up being a liability.....as would I
I just wanna run the vertical hone ….
That’s one impressive machine.
Nice videos you do and good work!👍 Nice to watch. Scratches for the dog!❤️🐶
Cheers mate
The Power of fluid is quite amazing 👀
I know right it can create a baby! Haha
@@stephenthompson9722 that is an absolutely brilliant reply! I don't think it can be topped.
That bolt and washer rattling around was the greatest thing I never knew I needed to hear. Nice work.
Great Repair as Always !!!!!!!! I'm going to start calling you Michael Angelo , another masterpiece from CEE Australia !!!!!!!!
You know the parts are expensive when they're willing to pay someone else to go through all this to make the old one re-serviceable.
Either expensive or will take too long to get the replacement part. Sometimes both of those is a major showstopper. Oh there is a third, which is where the part is no longer available for whatever reason.
CATs are yellow because it is the colour of gold.
How that huge bolt went inside miraculous things. I never ever see in my career
The bolt holds the piston to the piston rod so it was always inside the cylinder. It just came lose and made a mess out of the piston when they tried closing it.
I love how the safety officer sounds like my Impreza at idle
😂😂😂
i envy your tools, shop and skill set...the dog smiling with a gift is the best part
The welding shots through the welders lens is one of the highlights for me, old man's a boiler maker and as a kid I'd watch him with an old welding helmet everytime he had a weld something
Them outtakes, every time 😂
I thought you'll machine them a new piston too. I guess it must be bought new?
Hey mate we wanted to machine them a new one but they already had an OEM piston on the shelf
@@CuttingEdgeEngineering So a lot of these parts must be made? None are kept in stock?
I admire your abilities. I would love for you to make a video on how you started the business, where the capital came from for all this expensive equipment, especially in the beginning.
Mate watching you work makes me think I should have paid more attention in metal work in high school.
Wish I could go back 19 yrs and tell my younger self to stick it out with fabrication classes in school.
Hey mate thanks for watching! haha good to know the work we do is inspiring others 😎👍
Thank you. You two and pup do great work. With out the man and his the knowledge those expensive machines are just lumps of metal the camera work is excellent.Cheers
6:15 "Oh, look! There's a prize inside this one!" Kinder Eggs for machinists.

شكرا لمشاهدتك!
Came for the machine work. Sub’d for the dog.
Good stuff mate thanks for the support
Love the giggle when the barrel starts to turn and the rattling starts! Always hilarious when you get to make money and have fun! :-)
Good times! But got to be honest that rattle got annoying pretty quickly haha
The sound of the laid cutting is hypnotic.
A Safety Officer with a rubber fetish. Dangerous. Great work you two.
Hahaa yeah he loves it
26:57 if anyone was wondering what a super happy dog purr sounds like
Who is the Lady behind the camera as she does a good job in filming and no doubt editing this video channel?
Cheers mate that's my fiance aka The Missus or the giggler 🤣
She is a great asset to your channel, and I love watching you carry out complex engineering jobs and especially the little dog who keeps you both on your toes
Great channel keep those videos coming UK follower.
My Dad was a machinist...everything he did was a lesson to me...I loved that Man...I see that white liquid in there to cool the procedure...I ran solvable oil in my 55Chevy radiator for years...😉
The work and videos are always interesting, the dog is hilarious, and the bloopers at the end are the icing on the cake
6:42 "thats not a knife" moment haha
6:41 - That's not a letter opener... THAT'S a letter opener ;)
I assumed that you would have just squeezed that haemorrhoid flat with a pair of pliers and sent it straight back to the customer!
😂😂😂 may have been temporary relief with that procedure
LMAO yehh preparation H now the H is for hydraulic.
No need for tools this superman can just push it back into shape with his thumb nail and do it to a tolerance of plus or minus 2 microns.
Definitely my new fav channel to watch. Been a fitter/welder for about 10 years now and really love watching a master of his craft at work.
Hey mate this is an awesome comment thanks for saying so! Glad you enjoy the channel. Cheers 😎👍
I know this is old hat Kurtis but I have to reiterate, how the heck do you just know what to do especially when a completely new and DIFFERENT problem arrives on your door step, I have to say I partially watch your channel so much first to see the problem and then to just see you well just fix it. It's just wonderful to see your knowledge and skill in this regard.
CEE.....10% machining.....90% dog treats 😉
😂😂😂
There is a skillfull colleague here in Finland, @Pajamies Hp
Will check it out 😎👍
Oh, it wasn’t a pot of vegemite stuck in there after all.
