Something else can go wrong with these key fobs. I followed the procedure in the vid and it didn't work. I checked the new battery voltage before I put it in and it was 3.3Volts so full charge in it. After a few months of putting up with the fob not working thinking that it must be a problem inside the car, I was getting desperate, so I tried a different new battery with a voltage of 3.25 volts. All of these were the standard 2016 batteries. Low and behold it worked without any synchronisation. I know some of you will think I made a mistake with the first battery, perhaps putting it in the wrong way around or not inserting it fully or not closing the fob properly, but I assure you that I didn't make those mistakes, so if anyone has the same problem as me, then try another new battery. Definitely worth a try.

It's almost universal nowadays that remotes need resynching after a battery change. One rerason why it's important to know how it's done. Good to know the process is consistent across the PSA range
if you change a 2012 C1 key casing there's also a tiny chip glued into the back of the rear key shell that needs swapping over or the engine will turn over but won't start. It really small and can easily missed

I'm unsure whether the immobiliser deactivates the spark or the fuel.. his key dont look great so wondering if its in there etc . Could be crank/cam sensor. I'll start with key first

Don't make mistake I did. If changing the plastic casing remove imobilizer (grey) chip and put in new one . New key fob worked for a week then no spark luckily still had old casing . Bought new car battery and had to pay mechanic £35 to solve my mistake . But if just changing fob battery great video

My mother have the Peugeot 206 2003 with the button key fob that have the battery replaced just recently for some strange reason it won't turn or twist in the ignition barrel even with a spare key without the buttons it turns no problem. My guess it either a bad cut from the dealer or the metal itself is either bent or twisted abit as looking at the shape of the cut grooves it identical to each other. Might check it another day to see if I'm right about the key issue
Didn't work for me after replacing the battery, but what did work was putting the old battery back in and no synchronisation was necessary. I've done this twice now on our C1. Both the new and old batteries are over 3 volts with the new one at 3.27 and the old one at 3.03 and both are a good tight fit, so I don't have a clue what is happening with it, but if I just have to do this once a year, that is what I will do.

The ECU will retain a code that identifies where it believes the fault is but you need specific equipment to read the code. The most common problen with any electrics are connections and the most common airbag circuit connection that gives trouble is the connection to the seat (either for a seat bag or active buckle unit). So, check these connections first (undo, clean, remake) and check wiring for damage. SRS wiring and connectors are usually yellow. The next most common area for problematic connections is at the front accelerometers, which are behind the front bumper.

@@izziesmith4588 if you have CDL it will operate from the drivers door sill button, key barrel or the remote. If the car does NOT have CDL, you won't have a remote.

Yes, I believe it does. The Aygo has the same key system as the C1/107. In case you need a new shell for your key here's a really cheap one (no logo, so you could just use the buttons half to get new buttons) bit.ly/PSA_key_shell
Just went to Timpson and they programmed and cut the key for me Citeon C1 cost me £60 today 23rd 2020. I have heard so much rubbish on internet. It has been confusing. Also need to say it was from my original key that he was able to program the key. This is just a second key in case I lose original and this one does have buttons. But that okay I will just manually lock it. I tested it started car and manually opens door. But that fine by me. Hope this help. I hope this is in plain English

@@CycloneCyd Simultaneously push the lock and unlock buttons on the key remote and hold them down for 1.5 seconds. As soon as you release those two buttons, press the lock button. Hold it down for two seconds. Then your car doors lock and unlock again as a sign that the key fob programming was successful.
Sorry, are you saying that both door locks are siezed (or otherwise non functional) so you cannot unlock the car with the key?? If the case has lost it's buttons you should be able to press the switches on the PCB using a small screwdriver or cocktail stick. Give that a try (but don't open the case - doing so disconnects the battery from the board and it looses it's synch)
Sorry I didn't see this when you posted. The honest answer is I don't know. I think you probably can on these, but might be worth asking at a dealer or independant.
I've followed all the steps. There was no plastic on the Duracell battery (CR2016 3V) so it went in as is. Didn't work right away so I put it in the ignition, turned on the car without starting and pressed the lock button. Switched it back off and took the key out. Tried either button and it did nothing. Tried again with the unlock button and again, didn't work. The car starts and drives normally so it really is just the connection. What else can I try to resync it?

@@CycloneCyd the remote control does not respond. I have to unlock the car via the drivers keylock . Meanwhile I don't have to reprogram the key. It works as soon as the car unlocks.

Does your car have CDL? Some basic models don't and yours may be one of them.

NO, the car needs programming to accept a new key. This is for synchronising an existing key only

Sounds like the lock switch has given up. You can buy replacements, but you need to be a dab hand at soldering.

Akos Kositzky umm nothing. It stayed broke. Took it to a professional and he said the circuit board was fried and it would be 300 to replace it🤷🏾♂️

I am just saying that the remote stops working if the car is left untouched for 10 minutes. No matter if it was open or locked in the meantime.

I have Peugeot and the battery is 1620 not 2016.
Don’t forget to take the sticker off the back of the battery! I refitted mine twice before I realised it was there lol
