Michelle Khare here! Also pls check out my comment
vanessa!! hi!!
my grandad (age 66) ran the London marathon on sunday and finished in 5;05- he is so inspirational for me and everybody else
That's so amazing, oh my gosh.
very cool grandad
Meanwhile I cant even run down the street w.o getting tired and in pain
That’s amazing! I’m almost 30 and feel old…. Apparently I have lots of life to give yet! Let’s go!!!!
I am not a nutritionist, but I am taking a variety of nutrition classes, and carbohydrates are not as bad as you think! They fuel your brain and are needed even on rest days
Sydney Emile So true .
well thank for that because I love my multigrain sprouted bread.
Carbs are okay if you use them but they are terrible in the form of grains.
@@rindeldonnet7356 Explain why billions of Asians eat rice almost for every meal and are all thin and some of the oldest people to ever live were Chinese?
akb black genetics? Idk
I straight up sobbed watching that marathon video. I'm currently training to run a marathon and I've got a head full of doubt. These videos are awesome.
You got this please stay positive!
nextexit85 on the same boat! We got this!
You commented this 4 years ago! I hope you ended up running your first marathon!! 🥹
Then there's me who ran a 5k in 49 minutes
but you still did it!
That's better than most people, who never get off their couch and do it.
Sammmme
Running my first 5km marathon this Sunday. Like you I'm seeing 45-49min in training. But like others have said, better than the couch potatos. Next year I will try again for faster time.
I started running a few months ago. My first 5k was 49 minutes too, but 4 weeks later, i got it down to 34 minutes! my fastest so far has been 32:5, without even changing my diet. You can do it!! It takes commitment, but humans are meant to run!
So in two weeks I'm running my first marathon and you're the reason why! I saw your previous video on you running the marathon~about a year ago and I got so damn inspired! I've watched it over and over and here I am, still watching it and being nervous haha
I want to see you in collabs with Jordan. You guys were the best fitness duo.
we are already training our butts off for two videos right now i can assure you it's coming. put a bunch of stuff from training yesterday on instagram story! :) @michellekhare
Krishnapriya R if she's in buzz feed still she can't
She left on the same day Michelle left
Krishnapriya R yes
Why is everyone so freaking scared of carbs? Carbs are optimum fuel for all of the time! Glad you did so well on the run Michelle 😊 x
Please do a workout routine!
anonymousmakeuplover I
Hey Michelle, can you make a video on your day to day workout routine and how you stay fit.😊
I just wanted to say that as a young girl I think you're an inspiration to who I want to be in life. You're so strong, tough, and beautiful inside and out! Watching your videos bring me joy! Love ya
I just wanted to let you know that your marathon video was so inspiring to me. (I cried) I was so happy for you when you crossed the line and I couldn't help but draw parallels with my own life as I have been going to work full time and school full time getting my degree for 8 YEARS. It's been really hard but I am slated to graduate this MAY! After that my journey back to physical health will start in earnest. Sending much love, prayers, and encouragement!
Michelle, you inspire me to keep going on my path to getting fit and finally running a marathon, I'm trying for 10k at the moment!!!
YESSSSSSS
Wait you've actually inspired me to get into running your training video was impressive ASF and I've run everyday this week wowowow
go michelle!!! great job on qualifying for boston as well! my dad just ran the boston marathon this week. KEEP IT UP!!!!!! GO YOU !!!!!!!!
I'm currently in army training in high school (raiders) with a ton of cardio, I'm also vegan. So I love carbs ;) I also find that protein powder in oatmeal is way better then a shake.
I saw that you qualified.. are you going to do it?
LOL 30,000 people run the Boston marathon. Most of them know going in they aren't going to win. Qualifying for the Boston Marathon is an amateur runner's accomplishment not a professional accomplishment.
Ben L I wasn't asking "Are you expecting to win?" I simply asked if she was going. Bunch of idiots.
Jordan T My comment wasn't directed to you but to fyrick24's comment, where he diminished Michelle's accomplishment.
Ben L sounds like you’re diminishing Michelle by saying it’s an amateur accomplishment...
In the thumb nail for the marathon video over at buzzfeed; you can not only see a difference in Michelle’s before and muscle gains, but also a change in skin tone. This is probably because she had to train outside and got a gnarly tan while doing it. LOVE U MICHELLE
I’m thinking of running the Navy-Air Force half marathon and the Marine Corps marathon this year. I saw your training video and then found your channel. This is awesome! Thank you! You’re a real inspiration!
Yasssss more fitness content for sure! Love your videos so glad you're making your own content!
As a certified and trained holistic nutritionist your carb balance is well done. Carbohydrates are the only 3 of the macronutrients that is not *essential*. They are good for quick energy resources when you have a training day, but fats and protein will help more with recovery on those rest days when you are not consuming carbs. It is also awesome that the carbs you did consume were either fast acting so that your body used them quickly and didn't store them, or were high quality carbs (such as oats) which have a lot of nutrients in them such as fiber and protein.
THIS WAS SUPER HELPFUL!! Thank you so much for this video and sharing your eating routine for your marathon training! I really appreciate your genuine and hard-working personality and can't wait to see what you share in the future as well!
Love that you posted this.. Been pondering a full more and more because I've only done half marathons. Eating is so key while training!
omg you are my HERO!!! I'm currently training for a marathon and tbh, I've been losing enthusiasm, but knowing you did it (and with such an amazing time) is really inspiring!!!
Hi Michelle, I have just watched your marathon training video and had tears in my eyes at the end. I have just completed my first 5K event a few weeks ago and was emotional at the end embracing my family but wow you are so inspirational you don't know me from Adam but I am so proud of what you achieved and more than that im so happy for you personally to have completed it and to do it for yourself nobody else. You motivate me to do more and oh my god maybe one day run a marathon myself. Good luck with every single thing you do in life you truly deserve the best of everything 😊
You're really impressive ! I'm thinking of running a half marathon in october, I'm training mostly cardio right now, plus our underwater rugby team workouts.
Which brings me to the following: you and Jordan should definitely try underwater rugby, I think it will be a very interesting challenge for you two! If you want a taste of what it's like to play (but on dry land), you could do this workout: pick 5 or 10 exercices (crunches, push-ups, burps, whatever), and then do each of them for 2 minutes: 15" exercising while holding your breath, 15" rest/breathing time; then rest 1 minute, then switch to the next exercise for 2 minutes, etc. After 5 exercises, you have 5 minutes break, and then repeat the whole thing or do 5 other exercises. This "game situation" workout would be a first approach to UWR ;)
Edit: I sound insane, haha, but it's a weird sport I do...
I have lost count of how many times i have watched the marathon video. It has inspired me to run the next marathon whenever the pandemic is over and life goes back to normal.
I vow to edit and update this comment after my first marathon (hopefully soon)
SO glad you made this video! I was really hoping you would, I'm on a big health journey right now and have always found your fitness journeys and stories really inspiring and cool so hearing details and getting ideas from what you ate is perfect! :)
You are awesome Michelle!!!! I truly love the fact that your not boastful all though you have plenty of reason to be proud of yourself!!!! Thanks for sharing your life with us and being inspirational!
That is incredible that you had qualified for the Boston marathon your first marathon ever!! Not only that, but you had 10 weeks of training! Such an inspiration wow!
GREAT job on the race. You're my hero!
Your time was absolutely incredible!! Below 4 hours is fantastic but to do it with such a short period of training was amazing
Michelle, I now watch your marathon training video anytime I need some help motivating myself to get out and run. Works every time :) Thank you for continuing to share!
You are a very inspirational, beautiful, strong person. Your ambition is so inspiring! Please keep being awesome!
You have helped me change my views on so many things you are so inspiring. I love all your videos on buzzfeed and on your main channel.
:( wish i would stop seeing people advocate low carb diets to impressionable audiences
same with gluten-free diet :
This is specifically catered toward the marathon diet she did, which I am sure she got some sort of advice about.
r mg there's literally nothing wrong with a low carb or gluten free diet.
Actually the body needs carbs to produce glycogen which is used for the brains energy source, Also when you stop eating carbs and and instead burn fat as an energy source, you tend to feel more tired and can not sustain high-intensity exercise as well because fat is slow burning compared to carbs which are fast burning
Emma Brinton that's why it's a **LOW** carb diet and not a no-carb diet. You do realize people choose what they want to eat, right? and that there's more than one healthy diet, right? Somebody decides to eat low-carb because it works well for them, and all of a sudden it's an abomination? Lol, have a good day.
Thanks for the insight. I love honey stinger waffles when I rock climb. I didn't know they made gels too. I'll have to give them a try. I watched your marathon video and ended up crying. What you did was so impressive! Congrats on qualifying for Boston!
You are an amazing TH-camr Michelle! Thank you for making your videos! Love you!
I absolutely love all the work you have done on this channel and on the buzzfeed channel! It's been a huge motivator for me :) Keep doing you girl!!
You are inspiring, Michelle!! Props to you for qualifying for the Boston Marathon! Looking forward to seeing more videos like this one! :D
Ever since I saw the Buzzfeed video I was wondering what diet adjustments you'd made, thanks for posting! :) so glad you're going your own way btw, your channel is going to be amazing!!!
Yes girl! Thanks for sharing!!!! Had my reward tonight!!! :)
I am so happy you did a video on this! I was sooooo curious after watching the marathon video! :D Thank you so much!
You are genuinely so cool. I'm trying to become just a better runner (for school) and I want to raise my stamina and all of those big words. Thx so much this is legit super helpful
Enjoyed this a lot! Good stuff. I totally agree that nutrition is a huge key to performing well.
I go to the high school that you went to and I just want to say it's super inspiring to see someone from where I'm from who went to my school that made it to LA and started a successful career because that means it's possible for me as well! Congrats on the race! (Also a certain teacher named Mr. Lerchie said he taught you but I don't trust him please confirm)
In all honesty, watching this video and the Marathon video are what inspired me to try and run a marathon (in a year, not 10 weeks). I'm running a race a month and building the distance slowly. I've run 3 5ks so far with an average time of 33 minutes. I know it's not super fast, but I'm working up to it. My first 10k is the weekend of July 4th and I hope to qualify for a marathon in the spring next year.
Michelle, you're so empowering and positive, you make youtube a better place. THANKS!!!
I love this video so much I may have watched it 3 times...in one day! What I would love love love seeing is you talk about your normal daily meals/nutrition. Just your normal mon-fri work grind kinda food :)
you are my inspiration, seeing what you went through and continue to go through is amazing and very much needed. thank you💛
Hey Michelle this was a great video it inspires me to train hard for marathon high five!
I'm a nutrition/diet student and from what I've learned so far, restricting carbs as an endurance athlete is harmful for your body! even on rest days you should still eat a combination of protein, carbs and fat, so your body can recover as fast as possible. Carbs are needed to fill up your glycogen storage, which is used during long runs to provide energy. That's also why carbo-loading is actually useful for marathon runners. So if you are going to run a marathon again, please consider getting a licensed nutritionist to help with your diet. (also you don't have to cut out desert while carbo-loading...)
I loved your marathon video! When you BQ'd my jaw dropped! Can you do a video about the different types of running workouts you did?
you're literally my inspiration.
I'm so glad you did this video! Love you 💘
Please come to Boston next year the start is right down the street from my house and it would be so cool to cheer you on !
I'm so glad that you have a revamped channel! I always loved watching your videos on BuzzFeed. Keep making Amazing videos :)
Thanks for the nutrition regiment, Michelle! I'm training for the Napa Ragnar Relay and I'm starting to try and figure out a nutrition regiment leading up to that! You da bess!!!
how fast was your mile time before the training?
Omg,i love you channel so much! ♥ (i end up crying in your marathon video )

Hi Michelle. Thanks indeed for your hints.I am going to participate a half marathon pretty soon.
Thanks for sharing! Currently training for my 1st Marathon... Congrats on the BQ
This was very helpful! I'm training for my 1st marathon and have so many nutrition questions. This answered alot of them.
Thanks for sharing your nutrition during training I'm about to run my first half marathon and this helped me feel less stressed about the whole food process.
I loved watching your marathon training video :) it was really inspiration especially you talking about doing it for yourself and no one else. Also this video was awesome because I love seeing breakdowns of diets and how athletes modify diets for optimal performance! ❤️
So proud of you. Inspiring
Please post more about running! I love this vid!!!
You are so inspiring. I can hardly get out of bed in the morning.
Go Michelle!!❤️❤️
I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for the good content!
Love youuuuu!!' You're my inspiration!
What'd she inspire you to do? :) Same here tho! I just want to know lol
That beetroot supplement is unlikely to give you extra energy. However, it will contain a high concentration of dietary nitrate, which is converted into nitric oxide in your body, which in turn is involved in vasodilation, thus improving blood flow. This means better oxygen delivery etc. to working muscles. I don’t know about that specific supplement, but similar things have been shown to be ergogenic for endurance exercise.
Ok, wow 😲 Not sure how I ended up on your channel, but that was one inspirational video!! Thank you ☺️
I'm doing research for my upcoming 1/2 marathon training and stumbled upon this video. I don't eat animal products but I must say I'm very impressed on the diet you followed: sounds super healthy, and easy to replace with plant-options, as it was so clean already, just swap the chicken for beans and I would be golden! I also watched the BuzzFeed video about the actual training you did, and I am super inspired by your fantastic attitude and honesty throughout the whole process. Well done!!!
this helped me so much. im a newbie at the gym and im trying to get fit so ill take all the info i can get! thanks!
Amazing! Loved the training video, running my first full marathon next year. The diet will for sure suck, but your tips are helpful. Keep posting awesome videos!!!
Not what this was about at ALL but my god the video quality of this was nice. I commend you on doing the marathon and everything that went with it. You're a total superstar.
So proud of you Michelle and well done for been An inspiration to people you have motivated me to do cancer research 5k mud run ☺️❤️

I am getting ready for my SF Marathon tomorrow. I love this video.
You're amazing Michelle 💕 keep doing what you do. You inspire me to keep being myself, and that I can do whatever I want. ❤️👍
Your marathon training and running it got me running again (3 weeks I've been running now thanks)
I have so much admiration for you and how hard you trained (for yourself!), even continuing when life became difficult. I can't wait to see what else you will accomplish, experience, and share with us :)
I love to run! I'm in 7th grade and doing cross country, and I hope to do a marathon when I'm older. Thanks for inspiring me!
And here I am, with a game in the morning, eating an Eggo Waffle covered in Nutella. 👍
Make a video about your marathon training regime!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Hello! I love your videos. Can you try competitive swimming for a month? It is a great workout, and it can be really hard. Thanks!
I Am Secretly Hercules Mulligan yo it’s so difficult :/ I swim and run long distance, swimming is way harder
You're such a goddess and a warrior. I'm so glad that I recently found your channel. Maybe try an advanced painting class??? I'm so lame haha but I think it'd be good content? I don't know
Love that you went over nutrition... did u create a video showing what training plan you followed with ur coach... low - moderate- high mileage ?
I would love to see you make a what I eat in a day type of video because you seem really healthy and educated well on food. Also maybe a WHAT I EAT IN A DAY CHEATDAY EDITION
Hardworking TH-camr
Really enjoy your videos! I am running a half marathon in about 2 weeks, ordered some honey stinger gels for it, thanks!! :)
Lactic isn't a muscle fuel, glycogen primarily is. After you're body depletes its muscle glycogen stores through glycolysis, pyruvate is created. Under anaerobic conditions pyruvate is then turned in to lactate (lactic acid).
hey michelle, great video!! Could you do some videos with bike tips?
btw ever think about triatlhon ou duathlon
I've ran the la marathon too! Twice actually but I couldn't this year because i was too young apparently, and that made me sad because I could be gotten the chance to meet you :/
love you Michelle! 😊
Thank you Michelle! That was very informative since I'm training for my first marathon
can we see a workout routine?! love you very much!!
Hi Michelle:) well done for your achievement, could you post some links for these foods you had. I couldn't get the leg tablets? and the beetroot powder as well.. oh and the gels please!! thank youuu! x
