DE seriously needs to let Pablo cook more often. He turned my Squid Boi here from zero to hero so I'm hopeful that Pablo can do the same for Inaros and Caliban in the near future.

I've had Hydroid ever since 2014 and upgraded to his prime when that released, but never bothered to do more with him than level him and use him for loot alongside my friend running Nekros. After the update, I tried him out on SP Yuvarium (Lua) and he was having NO problems clearing enemies or staying alive. Was using the Helminth ability Sickening Pulse over his 2, to instantly armor strip any enemies affected by his 1 or 4, Rousing Plunder for healing on top of armor, and the Bubonico for my primary, using alt fire for trash mobs and primary fire to clear beefier targets. Did 3 40 min runs in one night and it was the most fun I've ever had playing Warframe in 9 years, outside of quests. Never thought I'd hear myself say it, but I just might be a Hydroid main now.

you, 100% were not a hydroid main. If this would be true, there are only 2 options, either you are MR 8 since 2014, since he couldn't do any of the content since 2019. Or you were a puddle main rather than a hydroid main, in which case you would hate this new hydroid.
None the less, as a Hydroid enjoyer myself, I agree this is deserved.

@@leSmokySmoke The trick to high level content with old Hydroid was to have OP weapons; those being Nami Skyla, Paris Mk1, and Vasto. and my perfect movement. Combined with the best mods, Gloom, and Umbra formas on him and Nami Skyla and I was unstoppable. You must just suck at moving, they can’t one shot you if they can’t hit you. I’m the best Hydroid player in the world. And I was only in my puddle when I’m doing spy missions, I’ll miss being the best stealth frame.
I accidentally went into Steel Path with an unoptimized build on him and didn't notice until halfway into the mission because it felt like breezing through the regular star chart. Suffering through all those invincible bugged prosecutors and Vay Hek frequency triangulators to farm him eight years ago finally paid off.
I need to say this, you are one of the best or the best creator content in this site for warframe. Thanks

When I played the game for the first time earlier in the year I saw a Hydroid and my jaw dropped. Big fan of pirate stuff so really wanted him. Started the game up again and seeing he is a good frame now makes me ultra happy.

I like Pilfering swarm on every build because it increases energy drops, basically ensuring you never run out
Tidal surge is his best ability tho Especially when it comes to his Tidal surge Augment that clears all status and grants 12s of status Immunity for yourself and allies that come in contact with it and reduces Tidal surges energy cost to 15.
Yea idk why he’s replacing that ability 4th is definitely the weakest
I just came back to play after a long while and I'm so glad Hydroid got rework! he is not doing so well before but now I'm sure he can performs really well. (I still wish Tempest Barrage was effect by range like before, so when you have negative range you can do a spot bombardment )

@@MHBlacky_ENG well, this rework a have small side effect, Acolytes Torment (the one you can find in steel path) that use the same skill Hydroid use now also get buffed as well as deal a corrosive debuff.

Something im not seeing anyone talk about with Plunder is that not only does it increase Corrosive damage it ADDS Corrosive to your weapon damage. So you can run viral+heat and with Plunder also have Corrosive
Now the only Thing missing is the New "how to never die in warframe guide" im really looking forward to that

For maintaining Hydroid in water theme I'd swap Tidal Wave with Aquablades. Full stripped enemies encountering heavy slash is chef's kiss

No problem ;) Trust me, there's a reason it took me half a week to come up with this vid... I had to do quite some testing to understand certain things xD
One build i like is a mix of health and energy tanking
With arcane battery u can get over 1000 energy with him and have efficiency on top of armor on top of adaptation dmg red.
I also use equilibrium and either plunder aug or arcane reconstruct, arcane steadfast too cause he gets a ton of value from it

I love Hydroid now. My friend just realized why I use swarm in excavations. I sometimes drop 2 batteries without the mod, but always drop 2 with the mod, from 1 enemy. I use the Tempist mod usually though. I solo most things with Hydroid but I wanted to see if I could make a C build, for something different.
Tidal surge with Nourish and catalyzing shield is working great for me.
Are you using the normal Hydroid or the Prime?
I personally didn't try the normal one but with 465 max Shields I think he'd be better suited for a Catalyzing Shields Build than the Prime with 650...
Been running him with Nourish for the energy economy and *even more* damage.
This frame is absolutely absurd as a weapons platform.... that also gets you extra loot and CCs with no need of a stat stick like Khora.
Top 3 frame in the game at current, maybe top 1 now that we've had more time with him
FYI the augment for plunder will provide u over 100 health per enemy which also depends on ur ability strength so when ur health get lower press 3
Hydroid - the new Grineer SP obliterator
From useless to a monster, I love it
In my opinion he became a S tier warframe. If you build him to strength he literally have 2.000 armor which is more than wukong has and he can full strip armor under like 3 sec + hes 4th ability is pretty good crowd control and has 100% chance to drop another loot if you have the pilfering swarm augment. Hes 2 is also good because it's remove any status effect + you are invulenerable while you are doing it. I didn't even put a forma into him and i did a 30 min sp mot survival without dying and every enemy just died instantly because hes plunder ability gives 512% corrosive damage to your weapons which is incredible. LOVE THE REWORK.
His first with the augment being his helminth is crazy

I would honestly say that I much prefer Growing Power. With innate corrosive on every weapon thanks to Plunder, I’d say Corrosive Projection has less of a use. Especially when some weapons only take a split second to reach 10 corrosive stacks.
Speaking of, building into that for free strength for more damage boosting and armour with growing power makes the most sense to me. Just my personal opinion though!

Denn ich komme mit Meisterschaftsrang 5 nicht auf 300k Rüstung, sondern nur maximal 3000 Ironskin!

Haven’t played hydroid ever, but I do see him in my steel path missions. He’s kinda stationary.
I main xaku with nourish replacing his 1. I haven’t seen a frame that comes close to his clear, that I have played. Dagath comes close though, maybe just as good but I only have 3 forma in her. Her kit is so damn good as is.

Love the video and the channel and congrats on 70k. I don't agree with getting rid of the second ability. It gets rid of status and gives around 2 seconds of invulnerability. That is my survivability instead of Gloom. I added health and shields through my companion along with adaptation. If a status ends up on me or shields go down just tap 2. I know people are going to think I am crazy but the first ability will be what I get rid of. It is fine if you just want to hit 1 over and over. It doesn't do a permanent armor strip so I would rather hit 3 once get all that damage and fire away. There is an argument to get rid of 4 also but occasionally it does come in handy.

The look is the deluxe skin and the jacket he wears over the shoulders comes with it as an auxiliary slot. You can switch it on or off and even combine it with a Syandana if you like 😉

Has anyone tried blood altar for Hydroid? Since his kit is tailored towards a "zone control" type of playstyle, having a zone within his 4 or 1's AOE that heals you sounds like a pretty good idea and is less energy intensive than Gloom?
Hey! Yeah I've tested it, but i don't think it does enough because hydroid wants more than healing. I've tested most subsumes on hydroid, and I've really taken a shining to dispensary.
Because hydroid is basically a AC-130, you really want to be able to spam your 1. But he also generates a lot of armour too. So the solution (in my testing and personal opinion) is to use dispensary with equilibrium and arcane blessing.
The health orbs stack the arcane, giving you heaps of health and healing and energy orbs are self explanatory. You'll never die, you'll never run out of energy, and with his 1 augment, you'll never have any trouble killing with viral and corrosive in 1 aoe ability.
He's not mesa, you won't win any DPS speedruns, but he will absolutely last in any of the content you bring him too. In fact, with corrosive and viral on your 1 as a dps aoe tool, you could very easily adapt brief respite and some augur mods into the mix and take him to level cap

His 2 is one of the best abilities in the game and it’s amped up even more with the augment giving status immunity for a duration for you AND your teammates and it groups, procs corrosive, status cleanse and I-frames. Pablo magic is real and people saying it’s bad are bad.
PS: I forgot to mention that the augment reduces the cost of the 2 and I would rather replace the 4 and I know that I’m not the only one that thinks that the 2 is broken.
I completely disagree his 2 is one of the best things in his kit.
You can use your 2, and ragdoll enemies into a corner pop 3 then 1, rinse and repeat. (Don't recast 3 unless needed)
Sure you can subsume it for somthing like PULL, AIR JAB, or BREACH SURGE.
But I think subsumeing his 4 for somthing like GLOOM is far better for his health tanking play style
Plus his 2nd aguments is rolling gaurd on demand for you, and your team for cheap mod cost
It sounds like to me you haven't used it enough to appreciate it. That one ability can carry you through steel path by its self with the agument.
I wish people wouldn't just jump to insert subsume ability here.
Pablo cooked him well, his rework was actually better then Grendel, and Grendel post-rework is already insanely good but unfortunately people just subsume him for Nourish since it is technically too powerful, and gradually forget how stronger he becomes. But in Hydroid case i might not happen like that

Suggested change for the wave ability. Just make it like Ember’s fireball. An instant cast summons a wave to push enemies. A charged cast turns you into the wave. Just a thought. I’m assuming DE already thought of this but still.
That or make the charged version summon a wave that pushes enemies toward you instead of away.

Only issue with Tidal surge is that it moves way too fast to actually control. If they just slow it down a little bit it'll be a great ability

i replaced his 2 ability with nourish from the hemlight and i get like 115 energy per orb.

Dumb question and I know it's late but do the corrosive buffs also buff viral damage. I mean technically you're still doing Corrosive damage but idk how DE defines it
If you mean the viral proc with viral tempest then strength effects the viral damage. I'll quote a sentence from WFwiki "Plunder Armor from nearby enemies and increase Corrosive Damage on your Abilities and weapons. Enemies affected by Corrosion Status offer a greater increase.". Which means your gun and abilities force proc corrosive and the ability also increases the corrosive damage of your weapon based on how many corrosive procs the enemy has cause of the armor reduction. But doesn't increase the damage caused by viral.
I absolutely loath the Helmith system.
Any alterations to the build you can recommend without using a sub ability?
I have a build that survives with his health alone, except instead of redirection add adaptation, an archon shard for more armor, arcane guardian, augment for his 3rd, and viral tempest. There you go i health tank with him in steel path up to mobs lv2k didnt bother to go higher, for the rest of archon shards you can opt for more health duration, dmg or whatever suits you!
Always played Hydroid cuz allot of fun but this update made Hydroid even more fun👍

I think health gating from me since I already like gloom and I do not understand shield gating when health is your life source and there are enemies that directly attack your health
ur 2 cleanses status effects groups enemys has s and the augment lets u have status immunity scaling of duration and giving it to allies and u can jump yo cancel it early

@@danielfoster4858 Blind Rage, Adaption, stretch, Umbral Intensify, Flow/Primed Flow, Continuity/Primed COntinuity, Rousing Plunder and Viral Tempest. Aura and Exilus are personal preference, I use growing power and preperation.
You also need to replace his 2 with Nourish. You cant really get around this because the way i play him he is very very power hungry.
Basic gameplay loop looks like this:
Find a group of enemies, Cast Tentecle Swarm for crowd control and to give everything at least 1 corrosive stack. Cast Plunder to build up armor and increase corrosive damage. Cast Nourish so you can get your energy back and proc viral on everything. I use Tempest Barrage situationally. If there are a group of enemies coming through a doorway or something, you can cast it once or twice on that spot to just kill them all. I also use it to take down tankier targets.
Arcane Energize really helps this build if you have it. Molt Efficiency is also really nice.
You want to be using a weapon that has really high status chance to get the most out of hydroids ability to fully armor strip. Your weapon does not need to be modded for corrosive damage because when you cast plunder, your weapon will gain corrosive damage for the durration of the effect. I use phantasma modded to do heat, radiation and viral. While plunder is active most enemies just fall over.
