MATT GOODWIN: What's Wrong with Liberal Elite Tories?

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 2 ก.ค. 2024
- In this video, I'm diving into the issues with the liberal elite Tories and why they just don't seem to get it. Rory Stewart and others are pushing for a return to what they call the "center," but this approach is out of touch with the majority of British voters.
Liberal centrists like Stewart believe they know what's best, yet their policies on immigration, foreign interventions, and social issues have consistently failed. Most Brits support reducing migration and are fed up with the so-called forever wars and the entitled attitude of these elites.
Join me as I discuss why the Conservative Party's future lies in connecting with cultural conservatives and hardworking people across the UK, not in becoming indistinguishable from the Lib Dems or Labour. I'll also share insights on the 2019 Conservative electorate and the rise of Reform and Farage. It's time for a wake-up call.

Andy Burham............😮 wow 🤦🏻♀️
Just ask Sammy Woodhouse about that name. People like,e Maggie Oliver and who she represents now.
Sammy has seen the light. After working many times with mainstream media - with channel 4 in particular - highlighting her fight to change the laws.
Urban scoop have given her a job. ❤
She's seen the light - after listening nfor years to TR and people like me being called Rcist. I'm a nobody, just a follower, who has a wee bit in common way dear Sammy.
But channel 4 make me boak (glasweigan word hope u get it 😆)
Mr nazir the prosecutor is not the hero he's made out to be, either.
It's 💯 boak giving.
Thank you kindly for all you do Prof Matt

The more the establishment and its shills discourage me from supporting Reform the more convinced I am that I did the right thing by voting Reform.
Tony always face down ? Farage just said his tax help to the poor benefits the wealthy more ? Tax incentives for those wealthy enough to go private and jump waiting lists ! Get a grip
Exactly
Rory Stewart who for a while pretended to be a conservative and eventually outed himself to be a Blairite. What a sad wet blanket.
Labour under the guise of "elect the Lord's"
Want to give the Lord's powers to amend and reject laws. Meaning no matter what government is voted in, the Blairites are always in and have the final day. Unconstitutional and undemocratic.
I hate every fibre of his wretched being. He is everything that is wrong with the Tories in one single, vomit-inducing person.
Rory Stewart has been all over TH-cam & social media telling everyone how terrible it was to be a Conservative MP, having to pretend to agree with conservative policies and conservative colleagues. In other words he is a FRAUD: he stood for election (3 times) on a manifesto he had no intention of allowing to be enacted and every intention to obstruct. Rory is not a victim, he is a perpetrator with no integrity whatsoever.
Rory Stewart is despicable
Patrician but not despicable.
Has a podcast with Alistair Campbell ! Says it all !
@@elkpaz560 I prefer the word bell end to describe him.
Reform are the only party worthy of my vote!
People like Rory should have been in the LibDems not Tory
But that goes for two thirds of the Tory parliamentary party whatever their local associations wished.
Rory Stewart needs to get lost.
Has Rory emerged from the "closet" yet ?
@@brianlopez8855 Yes, he's Alastair Campbell's b*tch
Rory Stuart is a case of lights on, no one home. How or why he was connected with the Conservatives remains an unsolved mystery to this day. He wasn't a household name, even in his own household.
Rory began as a Liberal, moved onto Labour, couldn't get any traction with those so his (Conservative) influential parents got him a spot with the Torys.
@@MrSyms69 so a floating candidate
I am sick & tired of seeing Rory's Stewart's smug Old Etonian face on television.
Didn't he appear on the Adams Family as Lurch!
@@underbaked8689 🤣😂
Rory Stewart is far left, end of.
"The Centre" is why my daughter, in her 20's, with a good job, is still living in her childhood bedroom and unable to rent a flat.
That's the irony of the teens & 20's leaning left....they've effectively facilitated the housing crisis which prices them out of getting a home of their own in many cases, which also impacts the ability to start a family of course.
House prices should be falling in the current economic climate...but they're not because demand is strong & increasing due to the knock-on effects of immigration.
Load of nonsense in the city I live for instance back in 1984 rents were around £400 a month now in 2024 the same type of apartment are £2,000 a month so risen £1,600 in 40 years .why don't you complain about car prices ,holiday prices ,clothing prices everything goes up nothing is stable ..She can't be that well paid other wise she would be able to rent or buy a place many other young people do ...
@@nowgrownup it’s an indisputable fact that it’s much harder to get on the ladder now than it was in the 80s. Salaries have barely budged in comparison to property prices and rent.
@@nowgrownup Yes, and how much was a Mars Bar in 1984?
@@maxwellboyne2770 Don't provide it with facts chum... it's a contrarian and a bit of a knowall.
Rory Stewart is exactly why they’ve lost loads of votes he just doesn’t get it and it’s time those sort of Tory’s should go to another party
VOTE REFORM VOTE FOR BRITAIN 🇬🇧
DONT BE CONNED AGAIN. VOTE REFORM AND SAVE OUR COUNTRY FROM WOKES DESTROYING EVERYTHING WE LIVE FOR
Well the Tories will start to get it from Friday morning when they see how many people have voted for Reform and how well they've done......
468 Labour MPs... Irreversible damage.
@@peterashcroft8058hopefully for only 4-5 years.
@@peterashcroft8058After 2019 and an 80 seat Tory majority the windbag commentators predicted The Tories would be in for the next 10years at least. After 5 years of Blair's glove puppet in charge (if it last that long) The country will have had enough of more of the same or even worse. The question is can the Tories be trusted again and the answer is no. This establishment party is corrupt dishonest and will not honour any of its commitment. No the time has come to change the way we do politics in this country. The days of the 2 party system has to end.
The Conservative party has run its course it stand for nothing only the globalist establishment. It need to end.
I was voting reform until yesterday I read an article from 2019 stating Tice has 2 offshore bank account so no difference from Conservative or Labour Party..So I normally vote Conservative but now I not voting at all as all as bad as one another 😊😊
@@nowgrownup Reform is bigger than Tice. I'm voting Reform for the hope it offers it's a movement to unit Brits restore pride behind a common goal.
VOTE REFORM, the PARTY OF COMMON SENSE for YOUR CHILDREN and GRANDCHILDREN🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧
Not long now so, SAVE OUR COUNTRY FROM THE DESTRUCTION OF THE DISGUSTING CONS, LABOUR, LIB-DEM ETC, VOTE FOR THE REFORM PARTY UK ! 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏
Stewart 🙄🙄what an absolute clown
They’re all WEF.
Prove me wrong.
Some time ago sir Starmer was asked if the UK should be governed by Parliament or Davos, he instantly replied Davos.
less centrist , more globalist?
Rory Stewart should be defenestrated.
they ain't conservatives, they're labour.
two cheeks of the same arse?
Well said Matt. Rory is prime example of how lost westminster is from the people
If the Scot Rory Stewart is so confident in his philosophical argument for the future of Toryism, then why didn't he stand as a Tory candidate in his native Scotland?
Don't blame Scotland, we don't want him either!
@@markbekusch7830 WE know you prefer Nicola and Yussuf...
What is Rory Stewart even doing in the Conservative Party?
What exactly does he want to "Conserve"? He is a lefty
He isn’t in the Conservative party.
He left it. And before that he’d been shunned by the leadership along with statemen lile Ken Clarke, Michael Hesaltine and Nicholas Soames (Churchill’s grandson).
And then, the Tory party imploded.
I don't think he is anymore. He went off to teach at Harvard. Now rehabilitating the war monger enabler Alistair Campbell.
Listen up! Rory Stewart is exactly who we DONT want. Please be quiet Rory. You have caused enough mess
Laughable to me that Rory Stewart still, to this day, thinks that his moronic ideology is popular in the country, despite being roundly rejected at the ballot box time and time again.
They all out of touch. Vote Reform.
The centre is a fair distance to the right of the conservatives
The Tories must be replaced by a patriotic party.
Rory Stewart is the embodiment of all that is wrong with UK politics.
Matt's good he knows his stuff. Hope he stands for Reform at the next election 🙏 🇬🇧
Brilliant analysis from Matt, here.Correct as usual.
Matt join Reform UK please
He has.
@@uingaeoc3905Has he?
Stuart is also underestimating the mood of Gen Z
I think he’s going to be shocked on Friday, at the number of them that vote Reform.
As always, absolutely spot on insights from Matt
It's funny, i consider myself a liberal centrist but there's no way I'm voting for Tories, Labour or lib Dems
Good luck today.
Vote wisely.
Vote Reform and help save the UK from all the madness.
This is your 1 chance to make a positive difference!
Time to take back the UK.
erm - 1. they're liberal, and 2. they consider themselves to be elite. next question...
Brilliant, so eloquently put. I have tried to listen to his podcast but gave up.
An empty taxi pulled up in front of Number Ten Downing Street and Rory Stewart got out.
We’ve all seen through the Tory rich boys club. Unfortunately some simpletons haven’t yet seen through the rich ‘champagne socialist’ Labour yet 🤬
Why doesn't Rory Stewart go and work for the Labour Party,
Rory Stewart epitomises all that is wrong with his former party
Stewart is a strange little creature. He's like something from a Dickens novel, wearing a top hat and giving a sixpence to street urchins.
Vote Reform and tell a friend to vote aswell.
Ive joined and voting T hell no, l hell no 😊 Reformmmmm 😊
Spot on Matt !
Bang On!
Vote reform
Matt should join Reform, he would make a great MP , preferably in Buckinghamshire.
I'm a liberal centrist. And it makes no sense to me that the Conservatives should try to adopt my views. They're supposed to be conservative. Why would we want three parties which are essentially the same?
Matt Goodwin is commonsense and says it as it is!
I know more about the wants and needs of undiscovered tribes in the Amazon jungle than Rory Stewart knows about the average British person.
Well spoken Matt! You have skills which become most evident when you describe elements of the disasters which have shaped our modern political landscape. Fortunately for us you can also illuminate the path forward.
A job well done.
REMEMBER TODAY 🦁🇬🇧 ( REFORM ) 🇬🇧🦁👍 .
I was a conservative voter and member...not anymore. I have become totally disilusioned with the party.
Well said 👏👏
Couldn’t agree more, very well said sir.
Matt is correct yet again 👍🏴
Get out and vote people
Rory stewart 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks all you are doing in this election period, Matt.
Matt is right
RS needs to crawl back in the whole where he came from..
Thought you was talking about me for a second 😂
They are the worse.
No idea who Matt votes for but he'd be a perfect replacement for Nigel in years to come.
Matt Goodwin is going to vote for Reform tomorrow and yes I agree, Matt Goodwin would make a great future leader. Vote Reform ❤
@@deborah-hq7xe Matt Goodwin and Douglas Murray are two who'd be perfect down the line, don't think either interested in being a politician though sadly.
@@scottmackin8271 Murray definitely not. Goodwin maybe.
Rory Stewert , Tobias Ellwood , Jacob Rees Mogg , all the from the same caste
Goodwin needs to win a Seat for Reform Party.
Matt is exactly right!
They get it--they just don't care.
Correct. I wonder why the Conservatives have been trounced. How long before labour is in trouble...?
Rory Stewart AKA dobby the house elf
Well said Matt
All the post apocalyptic films that have ever been made, none portray a future where the survivors realised their mistakes and made a better world. The post disaster world is as bad but in a different way or worse.
Matt Goodwin is absolutely spot on. If the Conservatives go down the Liberal route, they will drift off into the political wilderness.
I hope they do. That will increase the reform share of the voter base. If the Tories turn right they may start to cannibalise the Reform vote.
“Many intellectuals and their followers have been unduly impressed by the fact that highly educated elites like themselves have far more knowledge per capita-in the sense of special knowledge-than does the population at large. From this it is a short step to considering the educated elites to be superior guides to what should and should not be done in a society. They have often overlooked the crucial fact that the population at large may have vastly more total knowledge-in the mundane sense-than the elites, even if that knowledge is scattered in individually unimpressive fragments among vast numbers of people.”
― Thomas Sowell, Intellectuals and Society
Here's a question for you Matt.
How much Money have Iran, and others, given to people smugglers, to get foreign criminals and a secret army across the Channel?
I sincerely hope the Tories will follow Rory's advice
Rory Stewart has always been out of step. The first time I listened to him I couldn't understand why he was in the Conservative party. Conclusion, he is a well meaning drip.
We are voting reform today
Reform UK 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Rory Stwart.....what a stand for nothing worm.
Thanks
Looking at the thumbnail, Im reminded that every picture I see of the aristocrat Rory Stewart, makes him look like a ventriloquist's dummy. Mind you, Lord Charles could express himself better, even when apparently drunk.......
Very eloquent and snivel summary. Thanks.
Exactly
💯
Just remember that Andy Burnham's "Manchester" blew up kids at a pop concert.
Let's remind ourselves what Rishi Sunak did after being imposed on the party as leader/PM:
He sidelined almost all the decent, patriotic, recognisably conservative MPs from his cabinet except Suella Braverman (as a sop to the "right" - until it was convenient to get rid of her) and Penny Mordaunt (who was their best parliamentary performer). 70% of Sunak's cabinet were Remainers.
This is an overwhelming and emphatic defeat for so-called "one nation" Tories. The Lib Dem colonists and Remainer imposters that took over the party need to own this defeat.
Son of Chucky needs to pipe down and remember who he supposedly represents, nor himself. Well said MG
Rory Stewart--in the Alistair Campbell gang---BUNCH OF TOSSERS,VOTE REFORM100%
I can't vote on the 4th of July in UK became I am a EU member 😢
I was voting reform UK 🇬🇧 but yesterday i read an article from a newspaper written in 2019 stating Tice has 2 offshore bank accounts so reform UK no different to Conservative or Labour so i am not voting now as all parties bad as one another no difference no change 😊😊😊😊

Rory is as intelagent is he is good looking.😂😂😂😂
Rory Stewart. What would Maggie say?..
I'm sick of tory Bull shit
Centrist politicians - Dante has a unique place for those who don't choose anything - in his poetic work, the Divine Comedy - its called the Vestibule of Hell (Canto 3)
Congrats to Reform on winning 4 seats, but the reality is that the majority of voters are politically moderate, and no amount of banging on about 'elites' is going to change that. Rory Stewart, in my opinion, gives voice to that (usually silent) majority.
Can Matt please explain what a populist party such as Reform would do for the welfare state? Would they improve access to the NHS; how will they deal with an aging population and all the care issues that go with that? How do they improve local public services and ensure the utilities such as the water and energy companies serve the public in a much better way? Clearly, a very large proportion of the population is concerned with those pretty fundamental issues and immigration particularly illegal immigration is just one set of concerns and seeking to deal with that is not a panacea. Can we just hear what Matt believes in terms of economic policy and the welfare state rather than focus on 'woke' issues affecting society whatever that is and they are?
They are not Tories .
