Just bought this bike a few weeks ago. Loving it every ride, it’s my first Ducati too. Can’t be sorry I didn’t wait for the V4 as I’m having too much fun to care. First ride was 800kms, still comfortable at the end too
oc, the multi is on the map for me as a future touring bike. Though using my 18' monster 1200s as one at the moment, i like the naked bike look :P.

The seat is in low position. If you add the side and front pieces you can raise the seat and the pillion seat will be flush. You will also not slide forward as much n the higher position.
The most pretty Ducati ever made, i don´t like the new 2021 V4.. very ugly

Hey chase, you say you are not in the financial position to afford a multistrada but who says you need to buy one brand new? I have a 2013 model S model with all the bells and whistles and bought it for around 8000 euros (9500 dollars or something?) and it has almost the same power and the skyhook suspension. You dont always need the newest version of a bike you know... ive always bought models a couple of years old as they lose the most money first 4 years.
I have a 2020 1260....love it....I don't have the Skyhook suspension, but I added the slip-on Akro, carbon PP screen, carbon rear hugger and quickshifter. Great bike.

On my 4th Multistrada since 2005. Fantastic machines. I'm pondering trading in my 2018 1260s for a Pikes Peak version since I find myself going to the track more and more.
Bought a 950s two months ago. Rode 4000 mi. on it and traded it in for the 1260 (dealer had loads of them to sell still, and will guarantee a buy back for the V4, (Brazil)) and your video played a huge part on that decision. I would have killed myself on the 1260, 4000mi. ago.....not now.....can´t wait to be smiling ear to ear....
This is a very helpful video , well done ! I was researching the Ducati 1260 s - as I prefer having the 17inch front wheel , and dont want to buy the new V4 Multi with the 19inch wheel. Your comment about the pikes peak 1260 having firmer suspension helps a lot as I want something comfortable for touring and this 1260 s with the skyhook suspension fits the bill
Chase, hit me up when you want to know why us "old guys" ride the BMW R1250 GS. You can take my 2020 Exclusive for a First Ride if you want... then we'll see if you're still a Ducati Multistrada fan after that :-)
It's too bad Ducati butchered the looks of the new V4 Multistrada doing away with the iconic single-sided swingarm, trellis frame and 17inch front rims. Not everyone wants to take a 500lb+ 24K bike off road Ducati.

I just got a 2019 Pikes Peak and I have not shifted it much with out the clutch especially down lol. The engine breaking caught me off guard too. But it is a super nice bike. Someone traded it in with 700 miles on it.
Oc. But I believe u can buy many other adventure touring bikes with similar suspension that don’t cost that much. And btw I’m glad 2c u back on here. I will follow ur new page starting next year.
These gotta be uploads that were stuck in the queue, as of a few hours ago Chase was still having issues with the YT team on twitter.
It does have the worlds best suspension tech and performance on the planet. Even in 2014 the system was fantastic built did not have then wheelie control module and you had to be carful with the right hand in sport mode or touring mode in low gears or you will be star gazing on your back. The new 1260 hasn a longer wheelbase and is not as quick turning as the original 1200s.
oc: just hold on to your money Chase. Ducati is lounching new Multistrada next year which will be first bike with radar tech front and back. That means adaprive cruse control and notification about vehicles in dead angles ;-)
I have the 1260 Enduro. Its incredible,. Because of the DVT engine, its pulls hard all the way to the redline.

Love this bike Ducati is like the ferrari of motorcycle great power love the sitting position and the power wow just love it.But in the other way kind of sad that you dont actually did the same thing to the Kawasaki Concours test you just rode it around town in your 2015 review didnt open her up take the bike where its shine to the highway like you do for your other test drive.
Do i need to turn off my sportsbike on the kill switch or the key?? Which is first???

I am glad you pointed out that a new rider should not even consider the 1260, that is absolutely true. Not a new rider bike.
I own a 2015 1200 S and agree with this assessment.
Also the Corbin seats are flush as described in video.

I never use Urban. Almost never use touring. I use Enduro for gravel, but Sport is used almost all the time.

and pitch you forward--very uncomfortable. Talk to Ducati Finance as they will make you a sweet deal. Ducati parts and maintenance are very expensive. I switched to an Indian Chief Darkhorse for ride comfort and easy maintenance--my body thanks me after 8 hours of riding.
The comment about the seat was the same as my 2014 GT model and that was two generations ago. Ducati did lower the seat for more riders to fit the bike but they don’t have a touring seat option. I bought the Sargent Seat for my 2014 and it saved the bike for me. I could then ride the bike 500 miles a day, several days in a row without butt pain. The 2013-14 GT model had a bigger screen and it was a smoked screen. I would like to see better foot pegs. The pegs are cheap dual purpose but loose the rubber inserts.

I just saw a brand new S1000 XR today and it is such a beautiful bike. The Multistrada looks ok but man I would take the S1000 XR over this any day just because of the looks.

I just picked up this bike...this exact bike...color, model, and year...had a 2012 that I thought I loved...but this thing...this bike is incredible...worth every penny.

OC - for sure I want that. I bought a new xdiavel in 2017. It was the first bile with that engine. I've been telling people that it is soooo good. Next new bike is multi for sure.

I also own this scooter, and I endorse your review entirely. Like most Ducatis, it's impossible to ride without a dumb grin.
The TFT screen can be adjusted, you can put it auto which switch to black when it gets dark or switch it to dark mode all the time. Great to see back and ride a ducati 👍🏽
