    Good stuff Trevor. I have a 2010 that just clicked 30k . Not a single issue. Which quite frankly, I find rare for any bike, Ducati or not. I love it. My girls have named it the bird. getting ready to ride to Big Bend from Austin. Great to see other Duc fans enjoying them.

    I have the 2010 s over 50k no problems at all only change was a stiffer rear spring.

      I have 45K miles on my 2010 1200S. Electronics did crap themselves at 21K miles. Ducati fixed it, I paid for labour only (out of warranty). Since then, new Clutch slave cylinder and that was it. Cracking bike! Just bought a 2018 Pikes Peak. Am missing the Ohlins electronic suspension, PP has manual Ohlins. Dunno why!?

    Hi thanx for sharing. I'm a high milage and very fast sporty rider. I do trackdays, have my racing license and are a part time tourguide for a travel organisation. So... 75.000km on it now. Issues: quickshifter and fuelsensor both replaced at 60k. That's all. Very happy with the 1260s (hated the 1200dvt) Will not trade it in for a V4. Have no complaint about the Pirelli Scorpions, but did replace them with Angel GT. My all time favorite. Set your suspension right for your weight, and set your tyre pressure to. I ride @ 2.7 front and 2.8-2.9 rear. Also did replace rear sprocket with 43T for faster acceleration and a useable 6th gear on the highways

      Hey Antoine, firstly great job on getting to 75k KM..that’s epic! Since making this video I’ve clocked up a further 10,000 miles, so now at 33,000 and just about to embark on a tour of Ireland next week. The only other mechanical issue I’ve had since making this video is a split in the crankcase breather pipe (the slightly rectangular pipe on the right side of the engine. Split and some oil leakage. Waiting for the replacement to arrive before I set off next week..👌👌👍

    I bought a 2017 Multistrada 1200 Enduro new in January 2019 & have 60,000 miles on the bike in 32 months. I only ride on weekends in the western USA. Finished 3 Desmo services without issue. I go through a lot of tires (6-11K miles), chains & sprockets (9-10K miles), hydraulic flush every 10-12K miles. Switched from Parelli to Michelin tires. I changed the oil every 5-6K miles. My horn button sticks as well.

      @@MouldyPIX I do long rides up to 1000 miles per day & 2000 miles weekends, so chain clean, lube, adjust doesn't get done on recommended interval. Keep an eye out for missing rollers. Now I simply replace the chain every 6K miles regardless of whether it's needed to prevent excessive gear wear. Michelin are longer lasting tires.

    Bought my 1260s in February. What a bike. Watching your video,with the laughs and giggles. Is like me every time I ride it. Stupid fast, near sports bike handling and comfy. Full termi system on mine so it sounds like thunder aswell 🙂. Love the review aswell 👍

    Hi Trevor. Another great video, iv got a 2013 mts 1200 and just coming up to 35,000 miles.
    A couple of things, love this bike only a few minor problems.
    I lost the rear splash guard on the Grossglockner a few years ago 🤔, had a new battery 3 year's ago had a map sencer changed 2019, second Desmo done at 31,500 miles ( belts ok 👏) chain and sprockets 2020 just before lockdown and that's about it apart from oil changes and new boots ( Micherlin PR 4) I love them. Now looking for a newer (1260/ enduro or 1260s). I'm lucky there is a garage about 30 miles from me ( REPS) Motorcycles in Magor south east Wales and they are fantastic half the price of Ducati main dealership and I would highly recommend them. So hope I can find another bike I can do many more miles on.

    Thank you for the review Trevor.. I have owned my 2012 Pikes Peak from new and will not be able to part with it. I also decided to change the stock rubber and find the Pilot Road a great choice as it performs and lasts.. I had the fuel sending unit replaced under warranty, had to repair the ABS wire under the nose area.. I wire through shifter rubbers and rear signal light insulators needed replacing.. (just order a spare when the time comes) I have given it 12 oil and filter changes in 32000 miles and that is about it... It is needing the 30k service now so using it less until I can do the work...

    I, like you, have looked around but haven’t found many Multistrada owners. I just got a new 2018 enduro pro, i got it for a steal because it was sitting on the show room for so long. I absolutely love this bike and am looking forward to racking up some big miles. It’s kind of scary due to the lack of high mileage reviews on this machine. Thanks for the information and I did purchase the service option which covers the desmo service. Can’t wait till I actually get that many miles.

      I have a 2017 MTS 1200 Enduro that I bought new, like you, sitting on showroom floor January 2019. I've put 60K miles on it in 32 months. I run it hard on the weekends across western USA. Run it long & hard. I do 2000 miles in 52 hours regularly on the weekends. I can do 1000K miles in around 15-16 hours at around 75-80 mph. I go through a lot of chains, sprockets & tires.

    I had the sludge on my '14 multi,condensation build up dealer told me,common issue.
    It never caused any issues,had the bike 4 years,loved it!

    My 2018 950 Multi has 18,000 miles and has been at the dealer for 2 weeks now for it Desmo. Here is a list of whats gone wrong: 1. Warranty Replacement of Radiator bc Fan malfunctioned, the Whole Radiator Unit was replaced under warranty; 2. Rider Seat was warping, replaced under warranty; 3. Mysterous Oil consumption (no burning smell or smoke, but Oil drops below lower line of sight glass after 2-3000 miles from an oil change). Ducati has responsed to the oil problem by repeating that before every ride, the owner must inspect and add oil as necessary. That seems unrrasonable for an adventure bike. On the plus side, Ive toured all of the Western states: Montana, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, memories for a lifetime! Love Ducati so much I am looking at the 2022 Multi V4S!

      Oil consumption on these DVT engines is normal. The oil is used in two ways on the DVT, first for lubrication - as you would expect, but the 2nd is for to help cool the pistons. It does this by injecting oil to the underside of the piston which during the cooling process “vaporises” the oil - it doesn’t burn it. This means that regular topping up of the oil for DVT’s is perfectly normal. The consumption of oil is exaggerated by constant revs (i.e. Motorway/Interstate riding).

    USA 2010 S Touring; 2nd owner purchased in 2013 with 6000 miles; now 55,000. 4 weeks after i got it; the rear ttx shock and ecu had to be replaced (ducati gave me the parts and i paid labor, otherwise would have been very costly); have replaced both fork seals and one is leaking again now. the left selectors buttons are working some of the time; replaced chain at 22K; still on original sprockets; replaces front pads at 42K; riding the Angle GT's and getting 8K in front and 6K rear; tank was replaced by ducati during the 15K service (ethanol expansion). getting 45ish mpg; love riding this beast. was looking to sell but can't even get $5000. so i'll keep it and see how far it will go.

    really enjoy your reviews, informative. I own a 2018 1260s with 26000km. love the bike , the only issue I have had is the drive chain adjuster. it loosens off even with the correct torque spec. it or so bad I even replaced the at 22000km thinking the chain was shot. I think I will remove the rear hub and clean it up to see if that helps. mods include Vsteam windshield and a MRA blade. LED driving lights added and connected to the OEM switch, some EVO tech rad and oil cool screens, Evo tech hand guards and my own RIDERZREFLECTIVE decals kits. for the paniers and top case. I just received but not installed a Cat Delete pipe. This should hopefully help the rear brake fluid over heating issue . ( already improved by flushing the brake fluid with a higher wet boiling point brake fluid) on my Second set of Dunlop Road Smart IV. but that's a different story.

    Hi Trevor, great review. I have had my 2020 MS 1260s Grand Tour since April 2020. Completed 16,000 kms. Interesting mileage on your Michelin’s. I replaced the OEM tyre at 10,000 km and looking at the Michelin Road 5 replacement I’m getting at least another 6,000km. No problems with the bike,. I changed the front sprocket up 1 tooth which made a huge difference around town. The only issue I find is the heart generated from the motor in slow traffic, in summer it’s like sitting on a hot stove!

      Thanks for the comment.. The GT looks a fabulous bike, I’m tempted by one myself! I’ve heard lots of good things about how well the bike rides with a different front sprocket, next change I might just try your suggestion! Yes I know what you mean about the heat from the engine in summer months, I suppose one cure is “keep riding fast”!! 😂😂👍

      @@MouldyPIX I have a '13, had problems with the heat also. Had the cat removed (very carefully, only the cat destroyed inside an otherwise still standard silencer). Huge difference. Suddenly the bike is ok in summer, and my ankles don't get roasted with cross-winds.

    Very interesting video I have a 2016 multistrada 1200 and with currently 17500 miles bought it in October 2019 with 7000 miles on the clock. it's booked in for is desmo service in mid August as that was the earliest my local dealer could fit me in so will be close to 19000 by the time it's serviced. I was quoted 1100 for the service 🥺🤮.
    I've ditched my rear hugger as it's a pain to adjust the chain with it fitted and mine also broke and I couldn't work out how now I many have the answer thanks to your video 👍
    I've been running the metzeler roadtec 01 on mine and i have had 8000 miles out of them so far but there crap in wet or cold weather so won't be using them again I did run the metzeler RR before but was only getting 5000 out of them so tried the roadtec think ill be going back to the RRs next month.
    Hopefully your trip last month went well you will due another desmo service soon with the mileage your covering. Keep up the good videos 👍

    What about corrosion / grotty down pipes. BMW R1250GS have chrome plated pipes and look good even with high mileage. Any issues / concerns on your Duke?

      That’s a really good point Tycoon. The downpipe/headers are not pretty to look at!, I’ll happily admit that! However the good guys at EVOTECH Performance make a black cover, that matches the radiator grill, to go over the downpipes and hide them from view…so needless to say I have them fitted on my bike! 👌😎

    Hi Trevor, great review, thanks! I own 1260S '19 and have 20000miles on it. The quick shifter cable was shorter, fixed on recall. Other than that no issues at all, done the Desmo on 17100 miles. Loving it. Question, since have you adjusted the right fork spring preload settings? can you please share your experience?

      Hi Rinat, the preload adjustment has definitely helped with a sharper initial turn-in. However I went for a slightly lower preload than recommended. According to my weight my preload should have been 7 full turns, but with a bit of trial and error I found that 6 full turns worked better for me. I’d recommend setting aside a few hours to test with multiple different settings to see what works for you. You can get a CNC billet adjuster which helps adjustments whilst you’re out and about..and saves taking a 19mm socket-and-wrench with you! 😉

    Trevor, be sure to adjust the front suspension preload. From factory it comes totally wound out (or is it in?). Anyway, a quick google will steer you in the right direction. Stops the front having a mind of it's own turn in. Also, couldn't agree more about the PR5's, I went with the Scorpions for just under 1k and chucked them.

I got the same gear you did, the tail tidy is brilliant and the guards are essential (as you unfortunately found out after the fact). You've earned a sub, great vids. Keep it up!

    Hello Trevor. Excellent review, you give insight to things that people usually don't. Three questions:
    1. What mileage do you get out of the 20 liter tank?
    2. Does the rear brake still work after all those miles?
    3. What is the oil consumption you get? (Do you change the oil in the recommended intervals or sooner?)

      Hi, thanks for the comment. I usually get circa 180 miles from a tank, rear brake is better now that I’ve changed the pads to EBC. During my recent trip to Scotland (2500 miles) I used just under 1litre of oil. However before I left I did a complete oil and filter change, so the oil was fresh!.

      Hi Lee, no problems like that for me. Are you having battery orientated issues? I keep mine on a trickle charge with an Optimate during the winter months.

      You don't mention which bike you have, mine is a '13. I can tell you that the bike is (mine is for sure) VERY sensitive to fuel map especially on start - well, lots of other places too. I bought a tuneboy mapping system more than two years ago, and I've played around with the starting fuel map quite a bit - there is only a very narrow range that the bike is happy with. If it is even slightly out of that range it struggles to start - on the one end, when hot, on the other end, when cold.
      So, can't say for sure with your bike, but certainly with mine, if it struggles to start and the battery is still good, then the fuel map is slightly off.
      (I should mention, I removed my cat so mine is not totally happy with the standard ducati map)

      I have the Termi D193 slip on fitted to the bike, makes a decent change in noice from the stock pipe, nice pops/bangs on the overrun.

    Just had new seat more cushion flatter with heated pad EP oil rad sump guard nice quality didn’t want to pay 200 for tail tidy have it on my v2
    Lots of ducabike bits on it vulturbike decals

    Damn! Does the new v4 require the same service? "They" say if you do the oil every 3k miles with the good stuff the vavles will hold their tolerances longer.

      The new V4 GranTurismo engine no longer has the Desmodronic valve system. It uses conventional valve springs, so the V4 now has 36,000 mile intervals before the valve clearances need checking. I believe it still has 9,000 mile oil service intervals though. Hope that helps.

    I now have 15500miles on my 2018 multi 1260s.
    Apart from a repair of the radiator (had a stone in it) I have not had a single issue yet.
    in june or early july i have to have a desmo service, as i am leaving for Norway in mid-july, and i like to have the service done before the trip.
    Hopefully it will not cost me 3500€ or I can stay home from my trip 🤢

      Have a great trip to Norway! Did you manage to get your radiator repaired?, or did you have to replace yours? I think the going rate/cost for the Desmo service is around £1000. My bill included new chain & sprockets, all new EVOTECH radiator and sump guards and a new set of tyres and of course the replacement radiator which was £750!

    evotech mods are much better quality than the R&G..The water pump cover, sponge was put inside as a noise dampener

    Agree not many will take these off road Ducati would be better starting with road tyres I like Michelin better in wet pr slightly stickier than road 5
    Rosso better in warm weather

      Same here luv it cf to xr my mate who was wedded to his bmw 1200rs is of the same opinion and bought one usual issues finding neutral helped by ducabike slave clutch cylinder well worth doing paint peeling due to foam under cover failed Quickshifter 1 week after buying

      @@richardkerans1398 Hi Richard, hopefully you got from the video that I love the bike and the few negs are just the normal ownership gripes! The engine and the handling is what sets the Multi 1260s apart from its competitors, plus also the kudos for the Ducati brand! The L-twin motor is fully of character, ok so yes the clutch is a bitch when it’s cold, but it’s all part of the bikes character. Don’t get me wrong - I love this bike…it’s a real shame that it’s the last of the L-twins and we’ll all eventually have to get used to the V4 motor…

    Hello, I have a 1260s 18 plate. 11k on the clock, the casing round the water pump area is corroded, I’ve only done 600 miles and Ducati says it’s only cosmetic it doesn’t impede the functioning of the bike,,,Ducati says “remove the sponge” to late damage done! . Was your bike still under warranty or was it done under goodwill.? ,bike has full Ducati service history,,,the corrosion was obviously on bike when I bought it, I only noticed when I took cover off to see where water was dripping from,,cheers, disappointed Ducati owner, Robert,

      Hi Robert. I would go back to your Ducati dealer and have another chat with them! This issue is a well known problem, yes my bike was under warranty when they replaced mine, however my dealer said that they were still dealing with this issue with bikes out of warranty and Ducati UK were still honouring to replace FOC. As a further update my fuel sender went faulty recently (and my bike is now out of warranty), however as it’s another common fault that Ducati are going to replace FOC. Hope that helps.

      Hello, my Ducati dealer said they tried again to get my engine casing corrosion problem sorted but all Ducati say is its only cosmetic...its corrosion!!! Cosmetic would be a scratch or scrape....and sales manager says " you looked round it when you bought it" shocking statement to make...I'm going to contact Ducati UK......Robert

      Not quite! £750 (plus fitting) was for a new radiator, plus I had EVOTECH guards supplied and fitted then new chain/sprockets and a new rear tyre.. Desmo service was circa £1100 of the total bill though..👍

    £3000 for a service? FFS! I have been considering buying my first Ducati, (a Multistrada), but you might have just put me off buying one ever!

      Hopefully you got from the video that it wasn’t £3000 “just” for the Desmo service! £750 for new radiator, all EVOTECH guards fitted, new chain & sprockets plus new Michelin Road 5’s (front & rear)… Obviously I decided to get all of this work done at the same time.

      Bought a 2011 1200 s touring few years back. Lots of upgrades !! 40.000.miles at purchase and now 96.000 love that bike !!! Got it for 6 grand !!!!😎😎😎😎😎😄😄😄😄🇺🇸🍺🍺🍺🍺
