Lmao I’m 16 and I’m just going to cosmetology school, but it’s so fun to watch these. Even last year when I wasn’t planning on going to college at all I watched these.

The way I was just in tears when you got your Columbia acceptance! 😭 Its so nice to see you get in to a school you really wanted to go to! I applied to all of these minus a few and got all rejected so i'm happy you were able to get in!
Note: I was still able to go to a notable school and make great memories and experiences so even if you are watching these videos in hopes of getting in but do not, don't worry it will all work out in due time!

I love watching these. I feel like I'm living vicariously through all those who get to go to college. I only went to a Jr College for a couple of years and when I was growing up, No one ever acted like college was a big deal so I didn't try hard. I regret that as I would have loved the experience. But now I'm married and have a son and I'm happy so there's something to be said for that 🙂

I am actually about to graduate applied mathematics. Definitely not an easy major but it is possible to get through it. I am waiting on decisions from 3 more universities about grad school. I also live in Texas. I am so happy for you!!
My sister is also majoring in Applied Math. She loved the major but she said that it can be extremely stressful at times.
Thanks for the advice! I’m still debating whether I want to major in applied or pure mathematics but am mentally preparing for the long journey ahead 😅
@@moirahilton Do a minor in pure mathematics if you want, don't make it your major. Just far fewer job opportunities and to be an academic in pure mathematics requires a rare ability to think abstractly. The fact that you interact like a normal human being tells me that probably isn't you. Applied maths will open the door for you in many different sectors.

What a great achievement! Idk how I reach here but maybe because we are both into math? Just finished my math undergraduate journey at Princeton and will continue my PhD as a tiger too with a focus on geometry and PDE. Wish u best luck and welcome to the world of mathematics.

Berkeley! I love this school, its competitive in L&S. Especially in math, DS, CS, stats, and other math oriented fields. But its fun! Good luck to wherever you go!

@@hadi8699 Yeah I go there, but it depends on what you want to know. Is there anything specific?
@@danielbostwick2975 how is the EECS programme?
@@hadi8699 hmmm im not in eecs, im in Data Science, but I heard it is pretty difficult as a whole. I could be wrong but I heard eecs is actually harder than data science. Im currently in cs61a and im taking cs61b in the fall. I can definitely attest to the difficulty of cs courses here at Berkeley. however, if you are proficient in calculus, statistics and are an intuitive learner (which most Berkeley students are anyway) you really shouldn't struggle too much. for eecs definitely try to learn some python before taking these classes, but if you don't, they have a few classes such as data 8 and cs10 that really get your foot in the door and push you towards success in upper division cs and ds courses. Berkeley is a really nice school with really smart students that are very competitive and I feel like the competitiveness of the school makes it that much more interesting. but to be honest there are so many good schools out there besides Berkeley so I would highly recommend not fixating on one school. I applied to USC, UC Berkeley, George Washington, Georgetown, Columbia, Arizona State, and Fordham. I got into all of them except Columbia and USC lol (Like the biggest ones) Not a big deal though because I had so many options. Good luck to where ever you apply, and remember its just undergrad, get a degree from anywhere you can.

Also, I'm sorry that you're some grouchy stick in the mud because college students didn't listen to you, but being rude to other college students isn't the way to go. @Katie Ellen Tu This student wasn't in class. Outside of the classroom they're not learning. Ad besides you're being pressed for no reason. They weren't disrupting anyone. I'm done here. I don't know why any college would want an arrogant Karen to be a professor, one that bullies their students rather then help them grow.

Hi! I began a lot of my essays back in the summer, so I was able to turn in multiple applications before November 1st. MIT and UChicago also did not have restrictive early action (compared to most top-tier private schools) so I could apply to both early!
