    Reallly looking for videos going from point cloud to mesh. This is by far the most useful reason to work with point clouds in the first place, and is ironically the least documented process 😂

    switched to cycles rending and it worked flawlessly. this tutorial also opened my eyes to many possibilities in the 3d realm, thank you🙏🏼🙏🏼

    Im on Cycles, and when I go to render view I see darkness with an outline.. in the shading (color attribute) is hooked up.. everything seems correct. but I can't get the colors onto mesh to points!!!!

      Awesome! Yeah I've seen that point clouds are used a lot in the construction/surveying industry. Might have to find a few folks who work with those big lidar cameras 😎

    When i import my poly, it has like 7 different materials and 7 different photos for the color, any suggestion on what I might be doing wrong? I exported as gtlf and imported at .glb. Not sure if its because i have the free account for polycam

    Wish the right top of screen wasn’t covered, makes it really hard to follow along as well as video cutting to other segments without describing how they got there

    how do you bake in the vertex color information so that when i export into unreal via fbx it recognizes it? currently it's all just white in unreal.

    for some reason the W in my noise texture node doesn't make my object animate over time. Is there a way to fix this?

    when I am using the set Material node, it already does not work. In the rendered view it doesn´t show my any texture... I don´t understand why.

    Very good tutorial !
    Would be great if your shortcut pressed would show on the video + make the camera smaller to be able to see more, I am not very familiar with blender and I had a hard time to guess how to change my render properties and use the viewport shading, otherwise thank you very much !

    I did everything but the color won't show on the object :( I think cuz Im using a OBJ file. Any way to make it work with an OBJ file?

    any idea why my color data gets all turned the same? I cant seem to get different colors for different points and looking in the spreadsheet for the points it shows every point has the same color data.

      Try changing the render engine to cycles instead of evee

      yeah, same. under textured viewport nothing shows up the same in eevee, in cycles points appear but they are all black

      you can put in a new group input just for the w then it worked for me (or write the expression directly inte the w of noise texture)

    very useful tutorial and very interesting art by yourself! when i try it though i dont see spheres at all, and on top of that, when i click anywhere in the viewport, the entire cloud mesh disappears

    Hi, do you have issues with compelx scenes with these geometry nodes in blender? I am having CUDA issues when rendering this in 4k and can't explain why.

      You might be running out of VRAM. Try finding ways to lower your usage. Might need lower texture resolutions, lower resolution, tile size or a mix of all

      Already solved, you have to delete the driver and create it again while in the 0 frame

    using 4.2.1 - it only works in eevee but not cycles which seems odd - anyone else getting this?

      nm I figured it out - I was naming my attribute in shader "color" changed them both to "col" and it strangely started working in cycles - must be something in cycles with the full attribute "color" that's assigned to something else

      @@dusty_wings I did look into that. Its already enabled. It would have been helpful if this tutorial showed the whole screen so we could see some settings on the right side.

      Only works in Cycles unfortunately. With Eevee you’re going to have to instance the points with physical geometry, which makes the scene heavier to process
