in my years of using blender ive come to know that Gleb is the God of lighting and therefore stunning renders. God knows how much respect I have for you bro
Happy to see you still active Gleb. Watched your planet tutorials in Blender way back which is also a big reason why I started using Blender and am now working in the industry. Great Work!
What a delightful collection of tips! Thanks very much for sharing. I've used Gobos many times before but I never thought of playing with the spread setting of the Area light to use it as a barn door type of thing. Very cool! Animating a noise texture is a great way to achieve the effect of caustics too, which makes the scenes very interesting!
I`ve been using area light every time when it comes to lighing, but after watching this video, I feel like an idiot with the flash-light! Thanks, Gleb! Amazing tips!
Yo "Shro"!! Thanks for this one mate. Dude, I'm so stoked about the Ancient Wall series. Any idea approximately when you might release it? As always, super grateful for all you do and share, and for all I've learned from you over the years! I am where I am today partially because of your teaching talent and love for Blender!
Yo David! Thanks so much for the enthusiasm! we're working hard on the Ancient Wall series (aka the game asset creation with Blender series) and want to make sure it's just right. We don't have a firm release date yet, but I'll keep you updated!
Useful! I really did not know that you can do such tricks with light, (the maximum value 1++ is white🙊), I did not think to connect reflection😅🙈, it seems simple but effective, thank you!😊
Aww, thanks for feeding the algorithm! 😉Seriously, I appreciate it, since the youtube gods aren't always merciful to us (some videos have a few k views, with the total number of subscribers nearing 223k, which is a bit absurd :D).

You enlightened us with blender to resolve series do you have a solution for the blender to premiere pro ( I got exr files how can I get the same exact agx colors in premiere because my davinci sucks )
For some reason when I use the reflection vector the light texture goes away. Do you know why that might happen and how to fix that? Seems to work fine when using "Generated" and "Object" vectors, but not "Reflection" like you recommended. (blender 4.3, technique 2)
Actually, you're right, Blender seems to support UV mapping for lights starting from 4.2 (this was simultaneously pointed out by you and Niranjan, on our Discord). Ok, it's good to know! I'll make sure to include this tip in one of the upcoming videos. Thank you!
@@GlebAlexandrov I use this kind of "noise gobo" on my startup file since quite a while, and I just checked my setting : from texture coordinate, I used the generated output on the noise texture. It works, and gives the same result as object output. UV works as well, the result is similar but the mapping is different (the scale seems the same though). camera and window also work, but the result is kinda trippy ^^' everything worked in both 4.3 and 4.0. of course, only light area works, the other lights do not. meanwhile, IDK why, but for me reflexion never works, 4.3 and 4.0. ^^'
@@jackmcmahon6311 Yeah it only works in Cycles, for the time being :) I miss a similar functionality in Eevee though (I have some workarounds, which I may show later).

Still have some work to do learning the tricks of the trade :) thanks for the content and help
Really? Yeah, this is a very individual thing I would assume :) I know many people using Blender for making presentations, and apparently it works great.
Can anyone enlighten me, where is this 'bell' thing now to enable notifications (from me)? :) If you know where to enable it, can you do it please?
It shows up in the "subscribe" button. There are options to choose from if you click on it.

Luyanda that's very kind of you! I've learned a lot from other artists and tutorials myself, so I'm just paying it forward. Thanks for watching!
Great example of how to be very purposeful in the lighting setup while keeping it as simple as possible! 👏👏👏
Next level tips and tricks from the master of lighting. Thank you so much Gleb.
This is not a sacred knowledge for sure :) But certain things are worth repeating anyway.
What a mindblowing technique, and so well explained! Thank you for all your work, I love it!

Really great tips Gleb, especially the noise texture on the on the area light, I'll be using that one for sure!
Thank you so much Aunmar! I'm glad you found this tip useful, it really does add a lot of character to the lighting.
the title says 'simple trick' but it's a mini-master class 👏
Wonderful set of lighting tips. And the sneak preview of the game asset walkthrough has my attention!!

Another glorious video, Let's go 🎉
yay!
Thanks for these videos, Gleb! They always get me excited about working with Blender.
Awesome! That's exactly what we're hoping for :D
Eagerly waiting for upcoming course I love your teaching, quality and dedication ❤, I expect resources( courses ) for each sector in future.
It means a lot to hear that you appreciate our teaching and quality, hopefully it hasn't been declining over time or anything :D
As a lighting aficionado myself, this is such a delight to watch, @GlebAlexandrov!
you are just king of lighting! (including previous courses)
All hail the king of lighting! 😉just kidding, but thank you so much!
I love so much the color management training that I just bought the cinematic lighting one, looking forward to start it!
I hope you enjoy the cinematic lighting training, too! I'd love to hear what you think once you've had a chance to dive in.
Really appreciate the quality 🎉 wonderful tips.. few min of absolute gold here for anyone who wants to learn epic cinematic lighting.
