Matchbox renovation MG 1100 Superfast no. 64 and Caravan no. 57. Die-cast model.

- The MG 1100 is a passenger car very popular in the 1960s. The Lesney company produced its model in 1966 and continued production until 1970. In the movie, you can turn on the subtitles in your language, press the letter C or the three dots on the cell. Last year, the wheels in the model were changed to the Superfast version and the color was blue metallic. I painted the MG in the same way as the factory. On the layer of silver paint I applied a clear acrylic lacquer tinted with a blue dye. Today I present this model with a two-axle caravan, also produced in 1970. These trailers were built until 1972 on the same wheels as the MG model. The trailer was back on sale in 1976 as a re-colored twin pack. It was yellow and the roof was red. My trailer had a slightly melted roof and two wheels melted. I made repairs using the plastic replenishment method, while the wheels were made of FC 52 polyurethane resin. I also made two boxes with the same graphics because they come from the same period. Thank you for watching the movie, I publish videos with the repair of cars on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Well just when you think Paul has shown you every trick in the book, he pulls this caravan top trick with glue and colour matching plastic - I never even imagined that possible, but there he goes again... another MASTER CLASS is diecast refurbishment. The caravan in particular is a masterpiece. The roof repair is professional and the remake of the original Superfast wheels is brilliant.
The true to original multi-coat metallic paint is also fantastic once again.

Oh my this brings back memories I owned one of these back many years ago when I was 18 my friend crashed It into a skip luckily for me I had taken the front seat out to repair the rust in the floor so was in the back seat I got thrown into the windscreen and landed upside down on the floor If I was in the front seat I would be dead..my friend was lucky too he just cut his leg...Nice resto as always it just bought back a memory

Great job. Beautiful colour on the 1100. We had a Snowberry MG 1100 and a white 1300 and a caravan - but we towed that with an Austin 3lt which I don't think Matchbox ever made a model of.
No but Dinky did an Austin 3l. I had it in civil service black.

Top class job I'm impressed the way you replicated the metallic blue paint job when the superfast mg was first released it was dark green same colour as the regular wheels version which is very rare the real mg 1100 and Austin 1100 are a rare sight on UK roads they were notorious rustbuckets so not many have survived

I must have had the caravan too. But I can't remember it. My memory is like a sieve now. It has holes in it. I do remember owning Spot On die-cast models. They were great. Good results on the restoration.

Just a tip i have learnt over the years. If you place ABS plastic (I suspect the pen lid is this) into a jar with some acetone in it, it melts into a slurry of coloured plastic. You can paint this thick slurry into the dings and knocks and let the acetone evaporate to give you a solid bonded material.

Great refurb on both car and trailer, but you’re right about one thing.
In real life, that MG sedan couldn’t tow that 2 axle trailer.
Good job though.
Matchbox even put a tow hook on the Lotus Europa, a very implausible towing vehicle.

Wspaniałe efekty renowacji. Co to za pasta użyta do renowacji podwozia? W latach 70 tych kiedy modeliki były nowe podwozia w naturalnej fakturze metalu były pokrywane jakąś przezroczysta powłoką konserwująca która niestety przy intensywnym dotykaniu szczególnie mokrymi lub spoconymi palcami schodziła a podłoże śniedziało. Nie było wówczas takich perfekcyjnych farb do renowacji jak MOLOTOV Marker, odnowienie uzyskiwałem przez polerowanie chromowanym metalem.
Dzięki wielkie. do renowacji podwozia używam pasty Sonax do polerowania metalu

The box that the vehicle comes in can literally fit on top of a 1/87 or H.O. scale train flat car. I done that. Matchbox cars and trucks are slightly off scale but look good with H.O. scale train lay outs

I have a recommendation for you, if memory serves, if you go into a Warhammer 40k shop, ask about the Fine detail Maginfying glass Set with clips. You may find it helpful for delicate and fine detail painting. Hopefully they should still have them for sale.
