Nick opens up on how the recent loss of close friends and loved ones have contributed to a downward spiral, and how he is now living sober.
We get into frustrations trying to get projects passed by networks, his experience with the likes of Adam Sandler and David Spade, and creative new shows that Nick is self-funding to get out there.

Stumbled across your podcast because of Bobby Lee and I was compelled to watch because my daughter who was killed not too long ago was a HUGE fan of you and Smallville and she would watch it with me and a good memory for me... I have been in quarantine for 20 straight days in house cuz of higher risk status and clicked thinking this would make me feel like my daughter and I were watching you again and I really like your podcasts and have liked and subscribed and they are helping me get thru my isolated days. A good survival story in dangerously bad health due to alcoholism. Michael and Nick explained it well. I am trying to get off of alcohol to get my teeth fixed, a job, and girlfriend.
It sux that the drink is so good at taking away anxiety.. put everything off until tomorrow .. anxiety ..drink ... I will do it tomorrow .. repeat .. Good luck mate .. sincerely ... Take care ✌️

Michael I remember meeting you way back in metropolis, Illinois for the superman celebration in 2006. You were doing autographs and a QandA session under a huge tent they had outside next to the big superman statue. You had the entire crowd just dying of laughter, you were great. My wife at the time had a book of checks with different superheros on them and knowing you do the voice of flash, she had you autograph an actual check with the flash on it and you signed it Lex Luthor and wrote it out for a million dollars. Lol that memory always stuck with me. Anyway, keep up the great work Rosey, I dont miss a podcast and thanks for the encouragement you give those who are going through anxiety and depression, addictions and what not. I relate to all of it as I used to suffer from panic attacks and depression and was for a time addicted to pain pills. With the help of faith, family, medication maintenance with suboxone from the treatment center I go to, I may not be here now. Thank you again for what you do. Lastly, never missed an episode of smallville, not to kiss your rosey ass, but I think you were the best Lex Luthor hands down no matter what that guy who stood in line 15 min for an autograph to yell out Gene Hackman was the best Luthor says! Lol take care and keep up the good work.
Sorry to hear Nick went through such a rough time, losing friends, getting sick. Wishing him all the best in recovery.

Nick came into LaBoca when I was hostessing. Didn't recognize him at first because he looked like a homeless guy...until I noticed his very expensive hat. He had a great entourage. The red headed guy really gave the vibe that he would not tolerate anyone coming any closer. Loved NS on Reno 911

What Nick said. Brought back some bad memories. I'll be 4 years sober in October. In late August of 2016. On a Friday night. I started feeling really weak, could barely move, sweating like crazy. Even though I had my AC at like 66. I told my mom on the phone I'm not going to the hospital I'm gonna beat this. Hospitals scare me. Anyways, Sunday afternoon I'm feeling like death. I caved, called my mom crying, saying I need to go to the hospital. I didn't want too. But something told me I needed too. So my parents come over. My dad comes in and was like OMG RYAN YOU NEED AN AMBULANCE. I said no. He dressed me. Had to use my mom's wheelchair to get me to the car. I have no saliva, even though I drank soooo much water in 3 days. Get to the hospital. Don't remember much the first 2 days in ICU. They said I almost went into cardiac arrest. My sugar was like 560. Normal person's is between 70-90. People visited me and didn't remember. I was in the hospital for 6 days. And I remember I couldn't walk and needed therapists to help me walk. And after like 5 days of ivy's and water. And no alcohol. My urine was still as dark as ice tea. Anyways, I still don't know why I called my mom to take me to the hospital. If I didn't...I would have went in to cardiac arrest and died in my apartment.

Dude if you’re quarantining alone, I imagine there are several fans that would FaceTime/Skype with ya, just to give you a pseudo-convention interaction. Myself 100% included. I can’t afford conventions so this would be as close as I could get to an interaction with a famous person I actually respect. I’m stuck quarantining with my parents (who are in their 70’s and not into the same cool stuff I’m into)
I find gratitude practice is really helpful in a situation like this - especially with our plush surroundings. It is hard - but it could be a lot harder. Also you can go for walks - just keep like 3m apart outside with one other person - you'll get some social interaction and exercise!
Rosenbaum is super passive aggressive in this. Constantly steering the convo to negative and embarrassing topics for nick

I had to quit drinking because of pancreatitis had the same s*** happen To me I've never recovered can't even eat most of the food that I love anymore and definitely can't drink ever againI've had it more than once because I was stupid and wouldn't stopthe last time I went to the hospital years ago the doctor said you're just going to drink anyway so whatever and walked out so I thought f*** him and I quit and never looked back
