Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy, Henry) joins Michael Rosenbaum this week to open up on the good, the bad, and the ugly experiences he’s had on set throughout his career working with Al Pacino, while briefly on The Walking Dead, and with James Gunn on the Suicide Squad and GOTG in the MCU. During the interview, Rooker talks about his commitment to understanding roles before investing in them and how his acting process has developed over time. I like a lot that this podcast wasn't all about dark sides or personal problems, I like the softcore that it went to, specially because it is the second time he was with you. I love the signature Rosenbaum "Aggressive Friendliness" style of interview. Rides a weird line between casual chat and focused interrogation. It's like you're trying to get your subject to "spill the beans, pal" about "all the wonderful things that make you a wonderful you."

Yes! 😂 I was laughing nearly the whole time. He was _really_ trying to get Mr. Rooker to spill some juicy beans, but instead, it became one of my fav podcasts on the show.
I cried when Yondu says:”He was your Father but he wasn’t your Daddy” such a poignant moment. Michael Rooker is such a underrated actor. He was real good in Walking Dead. ✊✊✊

it is a terrible philosophy. how about you enter the ecosystem and work your way up the pyramid. where the hell are you head of the food chain? a kindergarten class? go ahead and try learning developing as a human being.

I am a huge fan of the show. I lost my brother to suicide a week ago. Grieving from a distance on lock down with my Ma. Depression is a big topic that needs addressing. Isolation, etc. People need each other right now. You have been doing a great job man. I am not a famous guy but talking about it has helped a lot.
I'm about 4 years late here, but if you do see this, I hope you have been able to heal in some positive way over the years.❤

Now that you mention it, I'd love to see Rooker as Lex Luthor. That would be something. Still think Rosenbaum should get a crack on the big screen at playing Lex, but Rooker as Lex? Don't know if it would be good, but it would be interesting.
I'm at home alone too. It's rough, I've been trying to stay connected via facetime, video games, etc. I hope you're holding up well, I'm trying my best! Having content to consume i.e. this podcast, helps a ton!

I’m home alone with just my pup. Luckily work has been keeping me busy during the day (i work from home) but the nights are long and lonely. I find myself going to bed earlier and earlier. Podcasts have been keeping me sane, absolutely love yours. I fall asleep to your voice at night, so thanks for that!

Sitting home alone listening to Inside of you. Been a great change of pace as I've been trying to find a new normal. Sometimes just a nice reminder that it's ok to not be ok.
It is such an incredible feeling working a scene with someone who can stay in character and push past a flub and just ad lib and bounce of their scene partners, until a cut is called. It can make it feel a bit like theatre, where there are no cuts and second takes - and the energy and trust that you can build with each other to just move together on-or-off book can be awesome. Loved hearing that part of the discussion around 51:40 - 53:30 ish

Rooker has always been a great actor as he pushes the boundaries of 'acting' ... always a great talent to watch on any film, be it a low budget horror film, like Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer or mega films like JFK, Cliffhanger or Suicidal Squad.

Great interview! Got to see Rooker at Galaxycon in Richmond when life was normal and we could leave our homes, and he was hilarious! Definitely support Zoom interviews to keep the podcast episodes coming.

He was great in Deceiver with Tim Roth, it's a really trippy movie, and highly underrated.
One of those rare actors who plays all his roles the same way, yet make them feel different.

I've always liked Michael Rooker. He can be intense, or he seems to have that type of aura which is why the characters he portrays are so believable. Great interview, thank you Michael(s).
Late to this interview, but hearing MR talk about his airstream on sets gave me a flashback of Eddie Murphy handing over his car to the valet in Beverly Hills Cop at the Harrow club. "all this `stuff' happened last time I was here", lol.

Hi Michael. Mate, this is a helluva window into others COVID experience. Funnily enough what others in the US were hearing during the Pandemic, where I am in the *other* WA (Western Australia), we had basically a paradise at the time. Could do everything everyone wanted to but had restrictions on. Other than travelling, we were basically one of the only places globally that was functioning as per pre-COVID.
That said, great channel, and great content, even three years after the fact.
