    (intj) I can't even faintly comprehend being comfortable enough to sleep around other people, like in an activd group setting. I just always assume SOMEONE will demand a reaction from me, and that's usually the case. I'm incessantly poked at. I mean, if someone's taking a power nap I won't bother them, but experience has taught me most people would not be that considerate.

    Taking a nap when you're bored. Last night I did that at a funeral. Didn't even think it was something not normal. It felt right to do that and I can't do anything more interesting at the moment since I can't leave yet.

    • @sarahberkner
      @sarahberkner 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Well, if you were going to take a nap at the funeral you might as well have not gone in the first place, it would be more polite. As you said yourself, taking a nap is telling everyone who sees you that you are bored, I don't know how you don't see that that's rude. And I'm ESTJ, and we're supposedly the rude ones.

It just how i let my mind stay calm. I sleep at gathering while sitting and leaning on the walls or sofa. People are talking and I just don't care because they're not talking to me and I find it great because I am happy that I don't have to talk 😅 also when people asking me something i go directly to solution. at a social gathering, if i'm bored, i'm gonna leave and sleep at the comfort of my bed lol. unfortunately naps don't work for me except give me headaches.
    the 3rd thing though. it always blew my mind when i hear other people talk about their problems and ask for possible solution when they themselves haven't thought of one. at the back of my mind i'm like, what is your brain for? or when you give them a logical rundown of solutions and they chose otherwise. then they come to you again with the exact same issue. i love to say "i told you so." in those moments.

  • @heatherbryant4197
    @heatherbryant4197 ปีที่แล้ว +22

    Yes! Why are you asking OTHER people what THEY think about YOUR problem? Before you even try to think about it yourself? Like, don't you have your own brain? 🤔 Ti bewilderment over Te, always. I suspect, however, that the ISTP's wording "try it out" means not just Ti, but Ti + Se. I do understand why people don't want to act impulsively and ruin something they can't fix. I just don't understand how a thought-experiment causes any irreparable damage. I think a lot of people could gain more confidence in their abilities if they simply put in the effort to figure things out themselves before they jump to immediately asking for help.

    As an INFJ I agree with you on the third one SO MUCH. I’d say I’m a very self-sufficient person, so when people ask me (or others) to help them with something without even trying themselves, it can really p*** me off (I won’t let them know and still help them out, though🤦🏻‍♀️). Because I usually sort things out myself, and even when I really can’t sort something out on my own, I have a very hard time asking people for help. But seriously, you can do SO MANY things ON YOUR VERY OWN in this world!! Can you tell I’ve had enough of people asking my help all the frickin’ time? And some of them are not even thankful, which is probably what’s put me in this mindset now where I hesitate to offer people my help.

    Some INTPs also are known to take naps in social gatherings and being critical (in order to help) those behaviors come from Ti hero w/Fe inferior (IXTP). Point 3 however is much more Ti combined with Se. An INTP won’t mind discussing ideas in general but an ISTP will prefer doing first and seeing what works before discussing it.

    • @taposhirabeya1361
      @taposhirabeya1361 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most often ISTPs don't mind talking about creative and a variety of solutions especially when those are pretty logical and effective enough to fix the problem in a better way than other solutions. But for that to happen, it has to be anything but their own problem.
      Take a few examples. Ask an ISTP how something could be better solved, this way or that way. They won't mind when you discuss about what you have in mind about the problem, they will even give their own suggestions based on what they know. even if the other person gives any logical suggestion that could be easy enough for them, they will also consider taking it in their list.But it has to be a problem where others are allowed to participate in the decision making of ISTP's problems.
      Well the actual thing is...almost all the time the ISTPs like to have the decision made by themselves without the involvement of others. Dominat Ti is the reason to be completely autonomous about it. They won't try to involve you when it is their OWN
      issue. They don't trust you or even consider trusting you to begin with. Even most of the time the fact ' asking the help of someone who is more capable' crosses our minds.We are way too used to thinking and overthinking being cut off from others.
      It's not that the ISTPs don't like to discuss various solutions, it's the fact that they normally don't discuss about those. In the end they have to make sure they are the ones applying it and doing it.

    • @namedrop721
      @namedrop721 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ‘An INTP wont mind discussing but an ISTP will want to do first’
      Mmmmm….no. ISTP will discuss a problem into the ground…if it isn’t theirs.
      If it belongs to them somehow they will only ask about it if they have tried most of what they think will work first.
      INTP vs ISTP has nothing to do with discussion, sorry 😂

    ISTPs are the kind of people who can burst into laughter at your joke, then instantly switch to a poker face, like they weren't just laughing moments ago. Their duality is a bit perplexing. Any tips to get an ISTP to talk? - ENFP

    • @LizzMo
      @LizzMo ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Sam.Fissure. thank you...that makes sense. ENFPs are known for being conversation starters, but I sometimes struggle to have conversations with ISTPs. They give me the impression they're either too shy to talk, or it is painful to talk to me. Since I care what people think, and I don't (usually) like making people feel uncomfortable, I don't often approach them.

    • @mariap1087
      @mariap1087 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@LizzMo It’s physically ,mind numbingly painful to talk to xNFPs. Do not confuse that with emotionally painful. Or any range of emotion. You guys have the Crayola 64 pack with the sharpener set of emotions and ISTPs have the 4 pack set. Sharpener not included. You mess with the 4 pack in anyway, and you will get an angry response varying in intensity according to how much you diddled it.
      Mostly, just leave the ISTP alone.

    • @LizzMo
      @LizzMo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mariap1087 HAHA! That's kind of a stereotype. I'm sure some ENFPs are that way. I'm not always in my emotions, especially when talking with a Thinker type. Unless you're referring to happiness, joy, cracking jokes and laughing, etc. That's what most ENFPs portray to the outside world, because we want to cheer everyone up, as well as influence them. When we are alone, that's when the sadness and melancholy hits (if it's there). I save my sad stuff for my close friends.

      @LizzMo ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mariap1087To be fair, I do generally avoid ISTPs, because 3 close ones have been so hateful and cruel to me in the past. I'm trying to improve relations with ISTPs, because I know there is an issue with them hating me, no matter how much love and care I put into it. It is very perplexing. Even the hatred in your tone towards xNFPs confirms what I have figured out. I'm just being me, doing the best I can to be a good family member, and it crashes into a flaming inferno every time. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @mariap1087
      @mariap1087 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@LizzMo It’s the “influence them” part that is the problem.
      Your response is an exact example of why I said what I did, bc you didn’t actually hear and take in the suggestions otherwise you would’ve either asked for clarification or thanked me for the information. Instead you brushed it off by telling me about ENFPs when your original question was about ISTPs.
      Stereotypes have a good amount of truth to them which is why they are funny.

    No like fr, the nap one is real. Fell asleep on a wedding (under the table i was assigned so id not bother the bride) and at a party…i was just bored but wanted to socialize, found an empty room and slept there till my mom called me to pick me up.

    As an ISTP, I must point out that your English could use some work to get rid of the German accent. Unless it's part of your character, then I totally get it, and you should keep on using it.
