How to REMOVE/DELETE "Chromium" Malware: One Minute Fix!!!

- Let's remove / delete this "Chromium malware virus off your Windows computer right now. This computer i am working on had Chromium open up every time the computer restarted. Chromium is also a system hog that runs in the background as well. Once you get rid of this watch your computer speed up 20-30% too.
I am working on a Windows 10 machine but the steps should be similar even on Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, etc. If you still need help then comment and tell me what step you are confused on. Also indicate what version of Windows you are running.
Again sorry for the horrible quality i did this on the fly.

It's a development version of the chrome that it's not for normal user
I suspect some dirty guy made editted version of the chromium that doesnt delete(chromium it's opensource so every one can edit)

Chromium is a little different on my computer. It has a bar on the top of the computer screen that actually alters my desktop layout and will not go away. I tried your method except a Chromium file was nowhere to be found. What should I do?
Edit: If it’s a bar on the top screen, it might be because of WebDiscover files. Do what this video says but also look for WebDiscover files to delete too.
I’m using Windows 10.

I found out the problem. If Chromium appears as a bar, as described in my previous comment, you should first follow the instructions in this video. Also, delete any files with the name WebDiscover. That's why it shows up as that bar.

Search up where it says ‘type hear to search’ type there ‘chromium’ right click on chromium and press uninstall, it will take you to some files to delete other things aswell, then find chromium and double click on it, allow the delete thing or whatever, and then do what it says to delete it or it might delete on its own
@@crrryx4956 Hi galaxy! This can't actually be deleted you need to shred the files in order for it to get off your PC if you do delete a screen pops up confirming if you want to uninstall it by chromium its self after picking okay it does not delete just here to tell you that

Oh my god, THANK YOU, I've been dealing with this dumb malware for 6 months and its been lagging my computer REALLY bad, thank you so much.
Just to clear things up, Chromium is NOT a virus, in this situation, a malware is disguising itself as Chromium, (very common) but try looking into your Chromium files to make sure. It's essentially a base for Chrome, no Chromium no Chrome.
Edit: I thought I had a disguised Malware but my anti-virus decimated it and it turned out it was just the real chromium.

Thanks for making this video it helped out a lot. recently I had a problem with a pop-up program that kept popping up on google chrome and made my PC lag, and so i uninstalled Chrome and it shifted to chromium and since the application wasn't in my system i couldn't do anything to it, even Malwarebytes couldn't completely stop it, was only able to force close. but after you showed me this method, i got rid of it completely. Thank you for showing me this video!

Pro tip- If something strange is going on check your downloads. Got the chromium virus. Took me an entire hour to remove. Luckly I noticed it in a few minutes

There’s a faster way. Go on Task Manager and search %appdata% and go to local and do the other stuff.
even simpler: windows + R, %localappdata%, ok
Or windows, uninstall then look up chromium

@Mitex No, the variable %appdata% goes to the folder C:\users\USER\appdata\Roaming and Chromium is installed in the folder C:\users\USER\appdata\local which is the variable %localappdata%

I just watched your video and did as instructed, Only one thing didn't work on my pc which is windows 10. When I went to task manager, I had to delete each chromium process separately, then it removed it. Then I put them in the recycle bin and deleted it. I hope this works. It was a real pain in the rear. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Worked a treat for me. So easy using your explanation except for one small step where I had to show "unhide hidden folders" but soon found that by clicking on view icon.

Do keep in mind that someone made this "Chromium" malware to avoid chromium. In reality, Chromium is an open-source web browser, and Google Chrome is based on Chromium. But good job on doing this!

That happened to me some day ago, I was looking for "free quiplash" because it was a fun looking game, I found this shady looking but sort of cool looking website, so I installed it, then all these apps that look harmful appeared on my computer, I tried deleting them, but no cigar, so I opened the computer options, and I clicked on one of the apps status, it said I could delete it, so I did a pro gamer move and removed all of those apps without a trace, nowadays I get that memory and feel like a Gamer Hero.

To be honest, it’s true. But what’s hidden in Chromium is that it has different features totally different from what Chrome has. They’re very hard to find (the “Easter Eggs”); you’ll have to put Chrome and Chromium side by side to figure it out, but It’s worth a try before recycling it! :)

Chromium is not malware. It is an open source version of Google Chrome. On your computer, it may have somehow been set to load on system startup.
The fact that chromium is a open source version of Chrome is true, but many malware-creators disguise their malwares by putting on the appearance of chromium.

Been trying to get rid of that application for a whole year, THANK You! now it won't say I can't remove it from my add and remove programs was so frustrating now I'm definitely gonna run Malwarebytes and a ccleaner quick scan to erase any trace of it off my system and reboot tired of it being a memory hog of my resources.
That time when you download a modified version of chromium that is mining in the background and you have to force the uninstall to not mine anymore your computer.

Chromium isn't malware but I once got this by downloading Cheatengine and kept popping up when I installed stuff. Good thing this video exists.

Or you could just press Shift + Delete (Permanently remove) , instead of dragging it to the recycle bin and so on
All those other steps didn't work but that shift delete for some reason helped out and did the trip. Thanks for the advice
