I noticed the competitors stuck to punches and kicks, but did not attempt any grappling/wrestling. Are the lower kyu grades not allowed to use nage waza? Great performance by your student, oss

Striking and throwing were allowed in this match.
The fact that we did not see any throws in this match is largely due to their preference for fighting style, I guess.
They are both skinny, so they probably prefer to practice striking rather than throwing from their regular training.
