Was great bang for my money whit both gpu only costing me around 350€/piece back then. Didn't feel like my CPU needed an upgrade till last 2 years now In 2019 I upgraded my GPU to the 2080ti and yes this gpu was not bottlenecked by my old faithful 4790k as u was gaming on 1440p ultra wide Last year I upgraded to the 13700kf , kept the 2080ti as it still beats the 4060 in so many games and have more VRAM available. During testing the only difference was the new PC and windows 11 vs old 4790k system with windows 10. The results actually shocked me as I could not oc my GPU 2080ti like on windows 10 and never got to have the same or higher score in benchmarks. It was always 50-300 points lower than my old system. Going back to windows 10 gave me the exact same score for my GPU again. Conclusion for me will be , if u have invested in a good system at base u should go with a new GPU then save up some dollars for a new great system in 2-5years. Mine ran for 9 years without anny issues just updated the GPU 1x . Will probably upgrade to the rtx 5080 or something as my 2080ti still competes with the popular 4060ti pretty good, so not worth it for me right now
Cpus come locked or unlocked from the manufacturer. So if i buy a locked cpu i should immediately upgrade? Even if your cpu stays at 100 percent usage it shouldn't be overheating. If it is that's more indicative of a cooling issue. Also, in a bottle neck the underutilized component doesnt find it hard to handle all of the power from the component that is maxed. The maxed component is working overtime trying to keep up and is the bottleneck.
CPU is way more important imo. If your into high refresh rate gaming and low latency a fast CPU with good IPC is necessary. Imagine a zen 2 CPU with a 4080…. awful.
You are right to an extent. IMO if your cpu is 4 years old or less (by date of release not when you bought it) odds are that a GPU will help performance more
I like your video. I was once told that if your CPU is not doing much while your GPU is almost at max, may your GPU need an upgrade, while if your CPU is running nearly 100%, but your GPU is not doing much, may your CPU need an upgrade. But it that wrong then?
Dude I'm sorry, but some of this is just plain wrong. If your gpu is the bottleneck, your cpu is being underutilized, and will not be "overheating". Also if your cpu is overheating it might just be time for better cooling. As a rule of thumb I would use. When turning down graphics settings/resolution still doesn't help your framerate, you need a faster cpu to process the things going on in the game. If turning graphics settings down does improve framerate, but the visuals aren't up to par, you need a better gpu. A cpu, for the most part is not affected
@TopTierTech1 well, yes, but you make decisions based on your needs, and if the games you play tax the cpu but not the gpu then you probably need a cpu upgrade first.
