No: it was Canon USA saying there’d be forthcoming news about them and the Ryan Seacrest Foundation (which does media/photography stuff with paediatric patients in hospitals.) The only weird thing about it was CR and Ordinary Filmmaker jumping to silly conclusions.

Is it a Canon fanboy who is having a hard time because of their lens policy writing here? 😂 Why so negative, people buy what they can afford and need, but it is of course expensive to change a system if you have many lenses, but if it is a fixed lens camera, then it is no problem!
@@andrea_pizzini If they launch a retro camera with an EVF, a 48MP sensor and a fixed lens, I would buy it too.
When the R1 does arrive the logo on the front should read "R1 Mythical" just like the Minolta Maxxum 600si was marketed as the Minolta Dynax "600si Classic" in Europe ;)
Too many false Rumors running around these days. Especially concerning Canon. However I totally agree that Canon should definitely due a Nikon ZF type camera. But even better. It should sell like hotcakes.

Canon would shock the world if they made a modern day Canon AE1 Program style camera with Kodak simulations. I think it’s best to have the R1, their flagship only come out when it’s ready. There is no need for it’s customers to become beta testers, like Nikon’s were for the Z9. The Z9 has become a great camera, but it took a ton of firmware updates to get it there.

The R3 is the competition for now and I see people very happy with it.. call the A1 a flaship like the Z9 and R3 is completely a joke… look at the quality and build ergonomics of the A1 compared with the others… this guy…..
