Ok i came here expecting the usual paint guide. I used to purchase LOTR minis when i was 13 and did my best and after 16 years im back in the game, i can NOT paint like that, i never understood how is it even possible to paint something that looks this good and yet you make it look like its easy.
Gotta say, i learned a lot more by simply watching this than anything else! I know this is gonna sound rude, but the accent is a litte hard to get used to, but them skills omg, bruh how? it makes me mad that i dont have an airbrush yet. I need to learn how to properly mix colours and use oil base paints to do washes....

Hi Marco! I have to say your method really does produce beautiful results. I’m a beginner painter and I’m really learning a lot! One thing that I would love to add to my tool kit is oil washes but I am hesitant because I’ve heard they need to be disposed of in certain ways. Could you maybe do a video about all of the “meta” aspects of oil painting? What does your cleanup process and disposal look like? Thanks!

I have a huge pile of shame (30 years of miniatures that still need to be painted), bought a resin printer with even more digital minis from patreons and kickstarters. I have all GW paints (also the old ones), most Vallejo paints.
    And then.... I started watching Marco's video's.
Now I have oil paints, bought these Dominion orcs from GW and I am going to buy Scale75 instant colors, some more oilpaints, AK's terrain stuff etc next.
Marco, are you sure you are not sponsored by all these companies?
Anyway, I just want to say: Love your video's!!
I hope I can master your painting techniques soon so my pile of shame will diminish.

Ooooh! The instant colors seem very interesting!
Do you have a recommendation towards which set of eight you find to be the most useable/valuable? They seem to be better for transparent tones and effects, like wood or leather, while GW Contrast has some standout heavily saturated tones.
Also, I really enjoy the little looped snippets of video you do to show the paints and materials! They're such a clever little touch that shows the level of care, quality, and detail you put into your videos.

These look awesome! Your recent videos inspired me to try painting a model completely in oils and having done that now I think I understand your workflow a lot better and why you often start with acrylics then move to oils for army painting.
I hit a small a stumbling block with my oil painting though and was wondering if I am making a mistake. When I blend in the higlights I am picking up a lot of the previous coats of paint on my brush, forcing me to clean it often so as not to darken the other highlights I want at the same value. I understand now that if I start with acrylics like you did in this video that won't be a problem, but when I am painting entirely in oils should I be letting the previous layers dry longer first?

Hey Marco, I really really love your videos, your energy and your painting style is nothing but amazing. I just recently started making my first experiments with oils. I use AK interactive White Spirit to thin them and basically just use them for heavy washes. However, as soon as I start the cleaning stage, usually after 30mins, the acrylic undertone comes off, too.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
