I really appreciate the approach you take towards comparing these cameras! The difference in settings is definitely something I haven't taken into account before when watching other comparisons. The new ZV-E1 seem like the ideal content creator camera but it's just too expensive.. I was looking at the other ZV line of cameras but they feel a little harder to justify right now when they've been out for 3 years (due for a refresh).
great test. i don't know if i should go with "fx30 and sigma 16mm 1.4". vs "a7c with sigma 24mm f2". who would give me better low light performance it's 1 f-stop diffrence in lenses so what would iso 3200 in fx30 compare to iso 6400 in a7c. would love some iso low light tests. and maybe grading test to see if the 10bit makes big differene when grading. thank you very much
Great to see the follow up test and the explanation on the settings. Doing these tests can be time consuming. It was similar for me when I was testing the Z6II against the FX30 for picture quality. With the change in settings in the menu, with cameras from the same brand, May you should use the default setting for both instead of trying to get them to match. I’ve started to use my FX30 to shoot videos I want to use on the channel, will be posting some videos soon. Thanks for doing these videos. Looking forward to the next one.
thank you i ended up return fx30 for fx3 and selling my a7c. i needed zoom lens with background separation. i couldnt reply on fast primes for the fx30 to get the same look.
@@jsyntaxmedia The FX3 is a great camera with some pretty good low light capability, can’t go wrong with it for video. I considered as well but to keep my gear light, the FX30 was the right fit. My video with the low light test is now up, it’s not FX3 moonlight capable but I’m happy with how it performed.
Hey. Been contemplating switching from my a7c to the fx30. I have my a7c caged like you do in the video. Hows the size comparison in hand with the a7c caged vs the fx30. I dont intend to add a cage to the fx30 since it has all those mounting points
Size is great! Don't put a cage on fx 30. Just get the falcam F22 adapter plate to make mounting accessories way more streamlined. Check out my recent shorts that shows a demo on how it works!
Hey, I appreciate your efforts! Good stuff. I own both cameras as well and they're both great. Pros and cons to each. I've found that the common advice of filming with less sharpness in camera, and adding sharpening in post (if desired), is a great practice and one that suits me best. I believe, from your tests, that the A7C probably does capture sharper images. Nonetheless, these lens tests with different sensors can be difficult. Lenses usually don't have their sharpest images at their lowest f-stop. The same lense at 2.8 on apsc and full frame is going to be less sharp than f4 on the lens. Being fortunate to own both, I use my A7C for photos and as a c-cam for video. That 10-bit on the FX30 makes it my b-cam for video. Thanks for your hard work. I subscribed.
Agreed with everything you said. I think I miss the bokeh on full frame zoom lens more than sharpness or colors. I will be likely returning the fx30 (sell my A7c as well since I cannot afford an expensive b cam) and Getting the fx3

Hi brother, I just found your channel and you make very good reviews. I want to make commercials and shoot wedding videos and film reviews of tech products for my channel just like yours. The final result of my researches is Sony a7c and sony a6700 which has exactly the fx30 sensor, which one do you think is better for my work? Is it worth it to ignore the big fullframe sensor for 10bit video?
A real TH-camr who isn’t sponsored yet for this video… real words

Glad it was helpful! I love my zve1 so far!
I like the use of the scientific method, and I like that you found out that using it isn’t always the best route. Awesome video thank you!
Legit test. 👌Full frame still makes a big diff.
thank you very much

I just purchased the Sony FX30 today should I be looking at another camera that’s better in 2024?
thank you for your review . I'm still hesitating between 4k apsc and fullfame.
Your video gave me the answer.
What did you choose
fullfame ^0^
Love your reviews man! Have you considered doing one of the original BMPCC vs zv1 or a7c? I have looked everywhere and can't find one :/
Appreciate the honesty. Great vid sir
I'm still learning! Next is becoming proficient at exposing and grading slog3 at base iso (will need to buy nd filters unfortunately)

Fx30 looks soft compared to the A7C - wonder if the sharpness was dialed up in the FX30 would it be similar to the full frame?....maybe not...

@@jsyntaxmedia if you need a b-cam, hold onto that fx30 if you're getting an fx3. My guess is that you will love the fx3.
@@caesarstake its too expensive, maybe when my main channel hits 50k (not this one), I will! I'll use the zv1 as my b cam and fx3 as primary.
With the FX30, it should be a better choice with the FX3 as they are both on the Cinema line and will match easier in post.
Bro you forgot most important comparison between this 2 cameras and this is night mode shoot :(

cual de las 2 me recomiendas para video
If you're going to make a comparison, don't make any adjustments to the settings. Stock camera vs stock camera.
Should have gotten the 20mm G lens for the FX 30.
Lol bro definitely won't get invited to sony events anymore...this review is a definite breach of contract fir sony influencers😂😂😂😂
