    PRN T-Shirts now available! Check out our original designs here: teespring.com/stores/prn
    We want to extend a big thanks to Yergeau Ford in Acton Vale, Québec for letting us borrow their new 2020 Ford Explorer Platinum to film this episode. Find out more about their dealership here: www.yergeauford.ca/eng/
    The Ford Escape was for the longest while Ford's entry-level crossover until their recent launch of the EcoSport, but the Escape is still the go-to vehicle for families looking for space and versatility in the compact crossover segment. The all-new 2020 Ford Escape brings a complete overhaul of this vehicle including a new exterior look and design along with a modern interior. This test vehicle comes equipped with three options including the alloy rims, panoramic sunroof, and Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist which adds blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control with stop & go.
    Our full tour and review of this SEL AWD trim goes over the exterior changes along with the features found on this near-top trip, including the new 2.0L EcoBoost 4 cylinder engine which produces more power than the average consumer crossover in this segment. We discuss some of the areas where improvement can be made such as the halogen-only headlights, with the LED lights being reserved for the top-end Titanium trim only.
    We go over the interior design and layout of the 2020 Escape including the new centre console area and updated Sync3 infotainment system, along with the optional 12.3" driver information cluster available on the Titanium trim. Features on the interior include heated front seats, driver memory, automatic climate control, LED interior lighting, panoramic sunroof, a new drive mode selector with multiple terrain management profiles, and ActiveX synthetic leather seating.
    We then take the 2020 Ford Escape SEL on a road test to talk about how it performs and handles from a daily driving perspective, and what buyers can expect from the 8 speed automatic transmission and 2.0L EcoBoost engine.

    Early last week that I gotten a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black. My last vehicle was a 2015 Ford Escape SE in silver grey. It broke down on me while I was driving it. I got up a hill and pulled over on the shoulder across the street of a BP gas station. I called the Ford dealership for a tow but, they don’t have a tow truck so they gave me a number to called them. I waited for a hour for the tow. The guy that was towing my vehicle to the dealership to get it fixed. The cost of fixing the engine was over $8,000 of repairs on it. I texted my sister on the price for repairs of it. I was there a long time. I picked out the newer one over a 2019 Ford Escape SEL in white. I will compared it towards my old one. My sister gave some money in my checking account for it. I even test drove the vehicle w/o the dealer in the car with me. I drove it home that evening and I could sleep because of being so excited on getting it. I went to the DMV for the title of the old vehicle. I waited almost a hour. I went to the dealership with my title. I gave it to the dealer. I went for lunch and bummed around the town a little bit. Once I’m back at the dealership to signed some paperwork and even paid it full for it. I’m so lucky In getting it. There wasn’t much to chose on Ford Escape. If the black one wasn’t there that I will get the white one.

    I honestly love this thing. And I think the SEL is the best bang for your buck! Titanium options can be added if you need them or really want them but I don't think they're necessary at all. SEL comes with plenty of nice features for less. That's the trim I got and i downgraded from a titanium 2019 fusion. The only thing I really miss from that is the ventilated seats. Otherwise, it's great! Strongly recommended

      Glad you like it, I see a lot of these on the roads now, definitely a popular seller.

    I like it! My car is currently a 2010 Escape I have owned since 2012. This new one looks like it moved away from truck closer to car, which I like as CUV are basically today’s small station wagons.

    Looks much better than previous models both the exterior and interior, however way too costly for this! Too bad!

    Did you say heated wipers ?
    Wow I've heard it all now,
    we have heated seats here in Australia, never used them on my car

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t imagine you’d need them there lol! It’s true though, some vehicles here have heated windshield washer fluid as well as de-icing for the wiper blades themselves.

    The ActiveX seating material is obviously unrelated to the Microsoft version; Ford offers it in the Edge.

    Looks are subjective but the exterior cuteness doesn’t fly with me, I prefer more truck like look of RAV-4. I see more Porsche or Kia than Mustang in it. Lack of LEDs and putting vinyl in one level lower than top is sad. I am also not getting those door inserts, what’s the material, plastic? Engine and transmission in this trim seem competitive but honestly this is not as good a vehicle for class as two versions ago Escape. I liked it boxy.

      Those halogens are a serious bummer, that's my biggest disappointment with this new generation.

      It's meant to attract the majority of current Escape owners which is female. I guess they know their demographics but i see a lot of men in Escapes. That was stated in a Ford video on the 2020 Escape earlier this year. They are prepping the Bronco to appeal to men the exec said.

    Ford needs to get more aggressive if they want to sell more . Charging 4 % interest on their new cars while their competitors are offering 0% + other goodies ??

    • @PRNTestDrive

      Great point, I think they’ll have to look at that in more depth if the speculation is true that the industry is going through another slowdown.

    Like all modern Fords, I like the car but the interiors are awful and cheap looking to go along with a higher msrp. I'd still go Kia Sportage SX 2L T or Mazda CX5 2.5L T. Will be curious to see the demographic split between buyers of this vs the baby Bronco.

    Looks are subjective but overall that interior just looks so cheap. Like I get the interior quality is on par with the equinox and rav4, but it just doesn't look the part and idk what they can do to fix it. This thing is just too generic I guess. Also that tablet infotainment is just ruining ford's interiors I hope they fix it before its too late (like how honda had to revert from their all touch system back to some physical buttons)

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interior is pretty much all plastic especially along the doors. Personally I feel Mazda still has the strongest product in this segment.

      @@james2042 Rav4 interior is much better quality. I've test driven all the models you mentioned. I think the Escape for the SEL without 2.0 engine is too high. I'd be fine with most of the look of this escape but the front end is not attractive.
