I just bought one, and I love it... my LEAST favorite thing was the design in the door, but Simmer Pete is right, it does somehow look WAY better in person! It drives like a dream!

Drew and Mason 😄, I'll be honest I'm no Ford enthusiast, but the 2020 looks alright. At first I thought the front fascia looked too cartoonish, but the vehicle overall is alright. Looks like a Mazda CX-5 on the side profile, front looks like a Kia and rear looks like a rav 4.
Just like the previous gen Explorer, the previous escape styling was much more better.
The previous gen explorer is very similsr to the new one the only diffirence in exterior is the grille
Andrew White but the previous gen has harder, more sharper lines. More of a masculine look. The new gen Explorer has smoother lines, much more feminine exterior characteristics. Also has somewhat of a minivan look to it.
Jadan Williams not really softer. In facts the back is sharp and has a sports SUV look with its long hood.

100K is within spitting distance :) This is a nice redesign, but not a breakout in a very competitive segment. I believe the new Lincoln Corsair is based on this platform...would be great to see a review of that as well.

My mother just bought a 2020 Escape SE for it being a “lower end trim” it’s nicely appointed. Really only the features she would use.

They did a great job with the technology, surprised it doesn’t have LED standard 😬 but the rear looks good!

You forgot to mention the Mazda CX-5 as a competitor! The CX-5 has a turbo and non-turbo option.
this is a twin scroll turbo where the 1st boost comes in at 2k rpm and the 2nd boost comes in 3000 rpm. no turbo lag. not so sure about the cx 5 turbo.

The Apps menu isn't for android auto and Apple carplay, thats for Applink. This menu shows apps that can be integrated with the system without needing to use android auto or carplay.
SEL and no dual climate? Oh but you can put some memory seats? All the way up to titanium to have LEDs? And auto dimming mirror? I mean....lol
The Escape Hybrid AWD is currently the best CUV(my opinion).

Just came across your video, thanks for the info! I do want to bring one minor error to your attention, tho, you stated that, in the Titanium package, the rear seats are also heated. I have a 2020 Escape Titanium Premium, which has all of the available options, and the rear seats are not heated, tho I wish they were!

I wish they’d given it a more unique front fascia. Instead of just blowing up a Ford Focus the same way the 2019 Edge is a blown up Fusion.

Those door panel inserts are the worst. I do like that the interior is not covered in that awful piano black plastic trim pieces like in so many other vehicles. That stuff shows dust and fingerprints like crazy.
Am I the only one that goes on fords website and under suvs where the escape is the new one doesn’t show only the old gen so idk ford

Can't believe the Lincoln Corsair is based on this since everything on that looks great compared to this. Nice engines, luxurious interiors...while this looks filmsy as hell.

Yes! But at least ford offers a powerful optional engine that gives you plenty of power (the 2.0T engine). Honda, Toyota, and Nisaan don't offer an upgraded engine like that on any trim.

Also, I have been diagnosed with retinal dystrophy. That means that I don't see details that well unless I look really closely.
I will tell you this however, most people don't buy a vehicle in this category for styling, they care more about practicality, functionality, safety, and value.
Everyone seems to be copying Ford because they were the first to manufacture vehicles on an assembly line.

1) Try using the center console when you’re driving. It’s nearly impossible.
2) Ford still only uses dual injection on their V6 EcoBoost engine. So the Escape’s EcoBoost version suffers from carbon buildup on the intake valves. That will be a VERY EXPENSIVE repair in about 60,000 miles!
What is the wattage for the 6-speaker sound system???

A much better interior, like the side profile, but the front is a boring effort. Great Review guys. Ford in Australia used to be in the top 2 sellers (with GM), but since stopping local manufacturing, Ford has fallen to No. 7 last month, and their only seller is the Ranger. The rest on the SUV line up sell insignificant numbers. GM is doing even worse since stopping manufacturing here and can't attract buyers to their products and have had lowest sales since 1948 last month and are not even in the top 10. After market dominance for decades - how quickly the mighty have fallen. FYI Toyota, Mitsubishi, Mazda are now our top 3 brands(just some trivia for you guys)
Great Review Guys. I like this redesign especially over the 13-19 models. However, where is the 360 camera? Also, that horn sound is terrible. I wonder if they all that to be changed. IMHO

No thanks I drove the new Ford Escape they're way too small and look really cheap inside so lack of head room and leg room so I'm keeping my 2010 and 2011 Ford Escape XLT better body style and a lot more room my wife's 2010 has 40,000 Kms on it and my 2011 Ford Escape has 60,000 kms it so I'm keeping them as long as I can Ford wake up and go back to the 3rd generation Style of the Ford Escape XLT that everyone liked

Andrew White God awful interior quality (not going to lie, my 17 Ford Escape SE 2.0 has shit interior quality), gas in the oil, CVT, just not my cup of tea. Plus the Escape can tow over 2 times more than the CRV.The Ford Escape isn't forgettable at all, it was the vehicle that popularized the PowerLift Gate and the concept of small engines thats turbo charged in CUV's.

They made the new Escape more feminine looking, great.
