To answer the title, Gege takes a LOT of inspiration from HxH, Bleach, and other Manga. He wears it on his sleeve. Detective Critics also made a good video on this exact subject, and Radman tends to bring it up in his jjk videos from time to time. Man JJK is so peak
To start off, I loved the video. I'm m a big fan of both series. I've never considered the parallels between the two arcs before and how they tell two very different stories using similar frameworks. See how the two protagonists experience the pain of loss in different ways and how the supporting cast treat their loss differently was really interesting
CA arc: Hero's intricate plan to take down the strongest Shibuya: Villain's intricate plan to take down the strongest really a cool inversion of the greatest arc of all time for a new generation, even Yujikuna's rampage and defeat of Jogo/Mahoraga and Gon's dark transformation and defeat of Pitou are mirrored, Gon is broken and transformed, Yuji is transformed and subsequently broken haters will say it's fake but I believe Gege would intend something like this, thank you for elucidating this
Shibuya was so peak man I miss that JJK I started reading towards the end of hidden inventory and to keep up with Shibuya week to week is one of favorite runs in manga, its not been the same since chapter 136 the Culling Games in Geges own words he wishes he would've done it differently that he shouldve focused more on characters he mentions Tsumiki specifically and says he absolutely failed to properly display her character that's why he released the og draft for jjk to show how much more involved Tsumiki was originally planned to be from the start. He also says the culling games was supposed to be a tournament arc but he just kinda gave up on that once Sukuna became the main player turned into the Sukuna tournament gauntlet. Idk how I feel about him acknowledging where he made mistakes part of me wishes he would just stand by his series and the decisions he ultimately made but the other part of me is glad that even the author can admit he could've handled it better it just proves the weekly chapter schedule of Shonen jump is just straight up dumb and doesn't give these genius managaka enough time to properly write their series with the right amount of time necessary
Lot of different things happening of the same time where it keeps cutting back, I know there's been at least a movie with that type of situation. Can't recall
I mean id def make the argument JJK is mainly a HxH inspired story Gege himself has literally said that. What is a binding vow if not just a great value brand nen contract? Id even argue Gojos display of the difference between CE and CT on the soda cans is another cheap spin from when Gon and Killua were learning nen from water cups with leaves. Its a Shonen on easily the fastest pace ive ever read there are no training arcs, no characters having dinner after a big arc, no slow down between arcs, and we rarely get flashbacks ever. Id argue its to the series detriment i dont think any of those tropes are bad by default i think they are actually very effective in adding world building and characterization. Ive never read a Shonen start to end and been left with so many questions and loose threads its insane to me how Gege has just completely rushed through the story he had an all timer on his hands and just refused to slow down and flesh it out. So disappointing
Chimera Ants is not a action arc, is a novel and a epic poem if you read some book in your life. JJK hasnt furries, but we have some annoying fight of sukuna x megumi "super shikigami" and itadori x carnivore insect guy
Shibuya Incident is what chimera ant arc should've been if the first 70% of the arc wasn't about forgettable anthropomorphic characters and Togashi decided to actually kill characters
Chimera Ants are a novel or a epic poem, if you read at least a book in your life, you should know. Not action for sake of action. Shibuya was good, but not really a true storytelling, way more a action movie if made for Tarantino. Very good for teenagers (the public) and people who likes action and violence for sake of edgy.
Bro i can say that ALL of Thailand’s manga culture knew of the big 3 and we’re also bigger than Italy. Edit: i should delete my comment because it’s completely invalid as the OP is talking about WESTERN TRENDS. Thailand is obviously not western. But i’m too lazy to delete it now, i think i’ll type up an essay explaining why instead.

It really is so peak, and Radman is my GOAT fr

Appreciate it! These arcs are both so good so it was a lot of fun to talk about them!
2 of the best arcs ever! Loved the vid
CA arc: Hero's intricate plan to take down the strongest
Shibuya: Villain's intricate plan to take down the strongest

Agree with all of this!

Great vid bro
Glad you enjoyed it!!!
OMG I LOVE YOU I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR 4 YEARS
U LOVE TO SEE IT!!

Domain expansions are actually inspired by Territory's from Yu yu Hakusho
Gege actually compared it to bankai from bleach. DE Ryoiki Tenkai. Bankai
@@Infinite8blueYu Yu Hakusho was the first one in the 90s.
@@Infinite8blueAnd Gege made a direct reference of Yu Yu.

Kenjuku????
The king of jokes himself
@@aniessaysmakes a near half hour video. Forgets to look up how to say the names ☠️
If the premise wasn't so defined, I would've thought this was A.I. with the "GAY-Toe" and "KIN-Juh-Koo." lol
Shibuya is like chimera ant but they fixed the pacing and got rid of all the annoying furries
Chimera Ants is not a action arc, is a novel and a epic poem if you read some book in your life. JJK hasnt furries, but we have some annoying fight of sukuna x megumi "super shikigami" and itadori x carnivore insect guy
Culling Games > Shibuya Incident
Lol no jjk is a jumbled mess and chimera ant ark is a methotical exploration of a complex situation.
I only know that I was bored as shit by the end of one of these arcs, and it wasn't Shibuya

Togashi kill developed characters, in Shibuya Gege kill random people and Nanami only (Nobara is alive, if she was dead, I could give you that).
Feels nothing alike to me at all
IDK I think the chimera ant ark was wayy better than the shibuya incident.
Story telling wise Not even close
Bleach wasn't even in Italia tv lol big 3 ain't even a western things.
Italy not Even the size of Texas bud
@@ChanceGuevarathis is the dumbest argument ever
The big 3 is just the 3 largest manga that were keeping jump from going broke, the country doesn't matter
Bleach was in tv here in Brasil and in mexico as well
West is not just US and Europe
