Auma is a very effective and powerful public speaker. When talking, you can see her passion prominently throughout her speech and see how much she wants to change the world in which we all live.

I like the approach to development Dr. Auma. Repositioning their young voices and re- conceptualizing poverty and development.

only 7k views and not only one of the better talks but probably the most important. simply giving away money only works if the human capital was already there in the first place. like fixing germany after WWII. or after a natural disaster. it is impossible to help a region that is in permanent poverty by simply giving them stuff not only can you not help them it is actually grossly dangerous and destructive.

"Sauti Kuu Swahili for powerful voices. Sauti Kuu Foundation. I like this ideal of self help philanthropy. How can I help with this endeavor?

clearly you didn't understand. it is about people helping themselves not receiving help.

It seems to me that globalisation means one half of the world riding on the backs of the other half. Simple as that.

At 13:16 she mentions white people feeling guilty. Guilty of what? Being white? Just another black 'victim' then who thinks that whites 'owe' blacks. What a bitch.

I wonder how much help the US or Europe would get from Arab Asian or African countries if it was the other way around.
not just in wealth but racial diversity too. all of the white countries are the most racially diverse in the world but still its "white people" who are the racists while you have Middle Eastern countries that is 99.99% one race and 99.99% one religion.

Were you even listening? She specifically said don't let them guilt you into buying things for a higher price, say no. A lot of the talk was against poor people having the victim mentality. Maybe you should watch the whole thing over.

When people like Janice hear the words "white and guilt " in the same sentence they get defensive instead of smart.
