I got the GoPro2 as well. I just use the tiny screen to determine which way it is pointing, but that's not even critical. The one thing you need is distance - sometimes you need to be WAY closer to the subject than you expect. What helps here is to connect your iPhone and use it as a monitor.
This thing is BADASS and is 90% of what I use for my car repairs videos.

"Edit as little as possible", famous last words.
I have the GP 9 and 10. 9 is better. 10 overheats. Both have cut off on me randomly, not just by over heating. That said, I think they just came out with a new style battery that is supposed to last longer and not get as hot. Good vid dude!

Lol, yeah that's a funny thing to say at the end of a video I've loaded up with memes 😆
I have heard the same thing about the 9 & 10. What a shame they took a step backwards. The 8 has been good to me, most of the time. It has its fair share of freezing and hang-ups. For the amount we spend on these top-shelf name-brand products, you would expect them to be a bit more reliable. They are small and they don't have a lot of space to dissipate heat. If I get a break in the action, I'll pull the battery and hold the open end of the camera in front of the A/C vent. It cools them off super quick.
I've started using old smart phones as 2nd, 3rd, even 4th recording device. Whether for extra camera angles, dedicated audio recording, GPS data acquisition. Crazy that the oldest device in my fleet, 6 year old Motorola stuck on Android 10 has yet to fail me. But a 2 year old GoPro needs a battery pull hard reset every other race weekend.

@@pete_bruschi_racing all that said, the 9, is where I have found my sweet spot, as far as "a roll" footage, unless I know I will be moving, or doing short bursts, then I'll use the 10
