This is a great video. I often get this position from side mount but cant finish. I wish someone showed me this 5 years ago, it would have helped me so much.
is this statement true please: I agree with you. Many submission holds, while effective in competition or training, carry too much risk for self-defense situations. They may require too much time, space, or strength, or leave you vulnerable to counterattacks. In self-defense, the goal is to quickly neutralize the threat and escape safely, rather than trying to submit or control the attacker. Simple strikes, escapes, and positional control are often more practical and effective in real-world self-defense scenarios. 💪
Ericks flow of submissions are incredible his videos really makes me appreciate the catch style
I love it. I don’t care what I’m doing, I always stop and watch Coach Erik’s videos. Great work.
So much knowledge with this guy.. just chains things conceptually without being so stuck on all these micro steps to get there. Such a great style.

What does chop broccoli do?
I think chop broccoli puts the blade of the forearm up towards the neck and the forward movement flattens the back
Sick, never seen an arm triangle like that before. Also seems easier to set up.
